You are in the right No question. I deal in mostly cards. From what I could see most weren’t in great shape. $5 might have been high. The scratch offs were issued in 2 yrs. 1970 the inside is white 1971 the inside is red. If any of the boxes are scratched the value immediately drops. I’m going to your store to see if the Elston Howard pin is still there
Lol the funny part was when he said he paid a lot for the cards but had them all disorganized just thrown randomly in a box. I would’ve left too. At least the Jerseys made up for it
That seller was terrible, in hindsight maybe dig out two or three and see if he's reasonable on them first then keep digging or walk when he starts quoting eBay listings. Cool video, easy sub, cheers
Appreciate you watching and for the sub! And your strategy would have been a good idea. By the way we have a live podcast on my channel Wednesdays at 8pm est
Thanks Casey, I see it now that you pointed it out but never saw it then. That booth was fun to dig through but was a little overwhelming with so many piles of stuff to dig through
You were patient with that seller. Those cards were in really bad condition, low end of the spectrum. I would of of immediately just made an offer of $100 for the lot and explain why. Then for him to not want to sell them after looking up a few on eBay is just brutal. I wouldn’t deal with that type of seller.
Yeah the condition definitely left something to be desired. I think I didn't show this, but there were a bunch of cards that were stuck together too. I generally like to buy in bulk myself, but he quoted me $1000 for the box which seemed insanely high - plus he probably would have balked and started looking stuff up if I had even agreed to that. 🤣
Thanks Fernando - Yeah those were great - the 4th one sold right as a I published the video. I am guessing he didn't look them up - If I had looked them up there I wouldn't have negotiated the price down as well.
The cards looked to be in pretty rough condition, but definitely a good era. If he wasn’t going to sell them, he shouldn't have had them out on the table. I would have looked quick and made a decent offer.
Yeah a frustrating seller right there - thanks for watching! Giving away a blaster box of NBA cards in our podcast #2 if you wanted to get in on the giveaway
As soon as I saw he was on ebay I would have bounced. It's a damn flea market . And clearly he doesn't care about the cards throwing them in a box. That was a weird interaction. A seller that doesn't want to make money at a flea market , lol 😆 . The ones I go too they won't let you leave if you look remotely interested in something.
Can't blame you for being annoyed at the seller (I mean the non-seller) after getting an estimate on the price before taking the time to go through the boxes. He had you do all the work and then started seeing dollar signs when looking at the active listings - no doubt for cards in much better condition. Amateur hour.
I don't like you re-sellers that's why the hobby in buying vintage or cards in general is very hard now at days to buy ,the passion is lost ,it's just business..but that guy was a piece of trash for putting out cards for sale in not selling them to you .
@@vintagesportflips I always ask right up front just to get a quick idea as to what the seller values the lot at. Him saying 1-5 each individually and then not honoring that was absolutely ridiculous.
Guys a jerk. Puts them on the table, then pulls them? Waste of time. I would have told him to go pound salt.
Thanks John - he lost out on some cash with his fear of leaving money on the table. Definitely a waste of time.

Thanks Mark - I think some were scratched off and some had writing. And I agree the condition wasn't great across the board.
Your point is fair. He mislead you. Plus they were raw and rough. He should have stuck by his initial statement
Thanks Earhead Six - agree with all of your points.
Lol the funny part was when he said he paid a lot for the cards but had them all disorganized just thrown randomly in a box. I would’ve left too. At least the Jerseys made up for it
Yeah I was still happy with the day’s haul for sure. Thanks for watching
$1-$5 a piece on the cards, digs through them for 20 mins… nevermind don’t want to sell them, I feel you man
Thanks Kyler - was definitely frustrating

Looks like you might have missed an early Baseball Magazine at the 10:43 mark.

Nice!! Killed it on the jerseys!!
That guy was new at this obviously

As soon as I heard him state he "paid alot" for them I woulda stepped.
I was nearly 20 minutes in at that point. Was in too deep 🤣 But when I heard him mutter "this is the f'in lottery" I knew I had wasted my time
The scratch words are $1.00 A piece in the crap condition!
Thanks for watching - yeah he thought they were a lot better than they were
The cards looked to be in pretty rough condition, but definitely a good era. If he wasn’t going to sell them, he shouldn't have had them out on the table. I would have looked quick and made a decent offer.
Yeah I agree - not the best condition for sure. And he definitely shouldn’t have had them out on his table - thanks for watching
That pissed me off, you wasted your time going through those cards

comes with the job
youll meet different kinds of people
just walk away
Yep - not the first negotiation like this and won’t be the last 🤷🏻♂️

Yeah I for sure would have bounced if hadn’t already spent 20 minutes there. And I agree, most flea marketers are eager to not have to take stuff home

Thanks man. Yeah, it was definitely amateur hour in that booth.
I'd have been annoyed too... Quoting ask prices from eBay - what's the point of that? LOL
Yeah for sure. I am pretty sure he was showing me a comp of a graded card too 🤣

He handled it so poorly. Why did he have them out there?
Definitely @SpaceViking - Not sure why he put them out in the first place.
Honestly he should have went through the box before he put it out
Yeah definitely- thanks for watching
Should of offered to buy the lot
I did ask on buying the lot - He was asking $1000, and there were large groups of cards that were stuck together, so I couldn't get near that price.
@@vintagesportflips was going to impossible to deal with I enjoy your videos keep up the good work
@@Newkidroblox I appreciate that Top hat - glad you like them
Next time just offer to buy them all right off the top
Thanks for watching. I did try that - he was asking $1000 for the group and many were in very poor condition.

You should of show his face
I generally angle my camera down so don’t capture faces often
