There’s a handful of kids that absolutely get to the point that they don’t care what teachers nor parents say or do for a punishment. Utterly i would absolutely HATE the cruelty of my parents if they did that to me xD, because the worst punishment you can do for your child is publicly embarrass them. What are you going to do if your child will absolutely take none of your opinions seriously? I can understand where her situation is at, but i wouldn’t be like that for some grades. Yet still, i know some kids, that even taking away everything from them, they still wouldn’t give two shits about it.

You need to understand that the meaning of words change over the years, for example the word gay used to mean happy, but now people use it as a term for a male that is sexually attracted to another male. The black kid was actually the racist one. I can tell he has all this anger towards white people and he wants to find excuses to act out on his anger. Nigga as the kid said is a friendly term. But he said since the teacher is white it means he is calling the kid a nigger/slave. Which the teacher obviously wasn't doing. But the kid just wants reasons to be mad at the white race. It was much les about poverty(most European slaves were this) and more about racial inferiority and superiority complexes. A focus on a subject doesn't invalidate the rest.

I’ve seen a few comments on this thread about number nine who are in support of the teacher, but I can’t understand why. Shouldn’t both be wrong? I don’t get why anyone wants to say a slur, whether your from the group that the slur is directed towards or not. Why do some black people want to call each other the n word? It has extremely negative connotations and in no way does it seem appropriate to call anyone that. I don’t see gay people calling each other the f word (as in the slur), or white people calling each other the c word (I know this word has little stigma and by many isn’t perceived as a curse word, but I still avoid saying it cause it is still a slur regardless). Why not use other words like friend or mate? In my opinion both the student and the teacher were wrong and need to be handled with. Also it’s completely unfair to assume that one person is allowed to say something, but another is not. If a black person can say it, then why not a white person. This seems to go against any equality ideals, and yet many ignore it as a simple fact of life.

I dont know if i would say that white people are privileged but the way society perceives black people and white people isn't the same which in turn makes their journey through life different. Society as a whole has statiscally been proven to be more afraid of black people than any other race. Which is why they have more bad connotations surrounding them but that doesn't make white people privileged they're just used as the goal of equality in our country
