Do you not have any Bell/Telus celluar coverage?, it should be cheaper to get a 4G booster on your roof and have a 4G/LTE modem. You will get speeds up too 500mbps, and your ping should be under 10ms. I swear, using Xplorenet shouldnt be the only option.
How long did it take you to point the satelite dish recieved a signal? Does it have to be pointed directly or is there a margain of error? Reason i'm asking that is because i wanna use a regular home satelite internet service in my RV, we got some very affordable highspeed satelite internet offers here but oficially only allowed in non moving homes of course :) thanks for your info!
Got to finish those guard rails on your balcony buddy ! Even if you lived by yourself no guard there is dangerous and it looks very unfinished nice home tho nice setup out there and what if you put something up on the top of one of the tall large trees around your area I'm sure it would even have some type of useful effect by the usually always constant swaying of a tree. Maybe it be more useful up there with a longer line.
No, the dish has to be stable, steady facing the satellite, like filling water bottle from faucet in order for it to fill up you need to hold the bottle ,you can keep moving it around. The boat is not stable or steady.
I grew up i rural area in Russia with awful dial ups lines that were giving 33.6kbps, abd GPRS mobile which was a bit faster but had huge ping. Satellite internet is more of for authonimic use and emergency needs rather than for leasure time. Ways to speed up the internet. 1. If your area doesn't have any cellular coverage then dual way satellite internet, meaning dish is used and to send and to receive data. 1000-1500 ms latency is not gonna be fixable due to distance. 2. If you at least have 3G or even 4G, you may use it as a paralel channel to send requests, and satellite channel to receive, you may be able to lower latency to 478ms latency at a best cause physically signal physically has to travel thousands of miles plus needs to get decoded. Whoever says they have less than 478ms Latency on satellite are liars since the signal already travels with the speed of the light.
Thanksthanks man because I’m trying to figure out all I can about dishnet because I’m getting it only for my Xbox 360 and Xbox one for game downloads and updating one of my games ps does the satalite internet connect to your Xbox or whatever game system or console you have and if so then does the internet work better if your not gaming online like on Xbox live?
Okay thanks man I didn’t mean to keep questioning you or nothing but I just want to know all I can because this is my first time with satalite internet.
In the end you'll have to CLIMB UP ON THE ROOF TO GET THIRE EQUIPMENT OFF THE ROOF FOR THEM. Do yourself a favor go with any other company, you'll thank me later.
You think 1.7 Mbps - 4.7 Mbps is variable? That's almost laughable compared to my Time Warner. We pay for 20 and on any normal day it is in the range of 8-18 Mbps, now that is a variable range, lol. I've seen as low as 2 before, but usually only during thunderstorms or other bad weather. I'm no electrician to know as to why this happens in bad weather, but it does.
It’s terrible and it doesn’t work. I have up to 25 mbps I got 4 mbps. So I upgraded to up to 50 mbps now I get 3 mbps. I now get 100 gig. That’s a lot right. Well it’s 30 hours of tv which we used in one day. Now I get .02 mbps and buffering. Don’t buy it. The hotspot on my phone is way faster
***** I'm using 110 Mega bit per second cable internet, with only 1 ms ping sometimes! But i move soon, so it might get slower, but i hope i can use 4G with a reasonable speed around 50 mbs at least.
+braggcreek I have Time Warner 300mbps/20mbps 10 ping no data caps, we use 600 GB of bandwidth a month. If I were to live in a rural area, idk how i'd do it with the data cap, I heard it's like 50 GB lol.
Blue Teletubby Well my internet is slower now that i'm using wireless, but i don't have a cap and it's still like 12Mbps (ping's higher too though) but i guess the monthly price around 48$ is pretty expensive
A) seriously there is a reason why people go thru certs to install this B) metal riff ha rally .. what got to happen here .. you know what going to happen .. put it on a pole .. and C and D are taken care of .... it is not a DTY project you trash talk it but do it right the first time.. that why they fail... your out of the beam or you expect to much you over pushing the service . At the start you had a sir of 11 and then when you expect and let me guess on an ISLAND you couldn’t get any one to service it.. I’m going to only guess why .. you A) put it up an a medal roof right before winter so when the snow come on off it will misaligned your dish.. JUST A FELLING... B)you didn’t uses the proper cable you NEED SOLID COPPER CABLE TO PASS THE VOLTAGE... I’m sure you just went to a a hardware store and picked up the humm ya ok this will work cable.. and finally C) this isn’t a direct tv dish nor a dish net dish and judging from yup accent a bell south sat .. with tv you have a receive only.. but with an internet dish you have a receiver a a transmit ... the bad between receiving and transmitting and the difference between saying i had a woman last night and say I dreamt about one.. seriously internet is not like a bell sat THATS WHY PEOPLE TRAIN FOR THIS!
satelites in space, haha, what a joke. My bell sat gets good signal lock yet the dish doesnt point into spce. my neighbours via sat 2 dish points towards our new cell tower. and speed is not as good as bell's 5mb connection.
You my friend need to make a career in story telling.
I loved the way this video was presented.
Hope you get the Starlink soon.
Outer space is generally considered to mean 'Outside' of our solar system. A satellite out there would have considerably more latency than 900ms ;-)
At 950ms latency, its pretty much useless to me.

I use this in remote Yukon, and it works well. Only one failure in something like 6 years (tria went). Not superfast, but better than nothing!

+braggcreek what was the name of the smartphone app you were using to locate the satellite . It seemed to work pretty good

Can you tell the price you pay?
Thanks for the video and the information.
Good talk as a story teller.. 👏
You'r chomping at the bit for starlink by now... riiiiight?
is dit een Zendschotel ?
Fees still good for it?
Can it work in boat
There is a system for boats from Inmarsat with a Marine Antenna.
No, the dish has to be stable, steady facing the satellite, like filling water bottle from faucet in order for it to fill up you need to hold the bottle ,you can keep moving it around.
The boat is not stable or steady.
Is it free? Can it with in Kenya ?
Why would it be free? Are you stupid?
do you think this would work in European Countries England or Ireland?
Me with my Shaw internet 300 that barely ever works.😑

I am getting dish internet this up coming Tuesday and I have a question does dish net come with a router?
But I don’t have a router so do you need a router for the modem?

It's not worth it.

braggcreek I'm moving to the Yukon. I'll need some satellite internet. I'm scared for low speed.
Is it work in india
Bagan, will work in India. Also Hughesnet, is in India. Only Inmarsat phones are permitted in India.
Free Internet?
+braggcreek sounds like a great way to live

It would be nice if I can chat with you since your are just down the road. I enjoyed your youtube & Info you provided
Im not looking at their plan I am looking at putting up my own tower to be a community provider. :)
