I would still love for the Ravens to make a Post-June 1st trade at WR, and maybe one security signing at Guard. KC did what every team does to us in the playoffs, tried to force us to throw, because they don't fear our WRs. There's no Deebo and Aiyuk or Chase and Higgins or Hill and Waddle, in Baltimore. If teams fear our passing game, they will back off and that, in and of itself, will create more space for our running game.

Zay Flowers is as good as Waddle or Aiyuk. He’s a legitimate #1 WR who torched the Chiefs defense as much or more than any WR all year. This comment is going to look mighty silly next season

The opener is going to be a juggernaut and Lamar/ Mandrews is coming and bringing the thunder, lightning and the whole purple storm gang. The NFL already knows what it needed to do for ratings and it’s going to be epic.

Bills are leaning into heavy 12/22 personnel to counter the constant 2-high and nickel defenses.
I think the offense will surprise a lot of people this year with its efficiency without a #1 like Diggs

Loved the scouting report on Nino. Sounds like a 2045 first round pick. Mel Kiper probably has him on his watchlist already.

Nah Zach Orr is a born Raven. Excited for him to lead our #BallSoHardOrr defense. Think he will be better for ravens vibes and have a top 3 unit.
Even got his own CB+Rusher in Wiggins and Issac. Along with Tampa.
A healthy ravens defense is best.

Mike is a great young coach, but he was the DC at Michigan and Orr's position coach when he was playing. He was not exactly the architect of the Ravens defense, just did a lot better than Wink blitz happy Martindale.

The QB position is the 2nd MOST IMPORTANT position in all of sports - 2nd to "star" NBA player (if you count “star” as a “position”). Yet it is at the same time the position that is MOST DEPENDENT on the situation they are in - teammates (especially O-Line and WRs), coaching, scheme, game plans, and play calling. An average QB in a great situation can become a Pro Bowl QB and a good QB in a bad situation can become a “bad” QB.

@@chetjablonski1993 Wrong. An NBA team without a "Star" has NO CHANCE at an NBA Title. Multiple teams with an average QB have won the Super Bowl.

The most important position in team sports is pitcher. The caveat is that nobody can pitch every game.

    • @kfishback71
      @kfishback71 Місяць тому

@@jamesspanglet6702…and that caveat is the obvious reason why QB is more important than pitcher. If you’re not even in every game, and almost never last the whole game when you do play, you’re not that crucial.

I would have ti disagree, I am sure they knew that McDonald was going to get scooped by another team given that he was getting buzz the year before. Always have to have someone waiting in the wings!

Henry is like a horse. I have been referring to him as a Centaur since he turned Earl into a verb and stiff armed his soul into the shadow realm. He is going from the worst yards per carry before contact offense to the best one. Gus was the 3rd string back and had 13 tds, although only a few carries in the playoffs, because he couldn't turn a solo tackle into a Shang Sung soul stealing stiff arm into the shadow realm.

12:14 Coordinators matter in most places but not the Ravens where they’ve had a top 10 defense in 19 of the last 25 years with over half a dozen defensive coordinators. In the Ray Lewis era they had a top 6 defense with 6 diff DCs and Roquan had had the same impact. Same way that Ray Lewis got other DCs and LBs a job like Bart Scott and Ed Hartwell, Roquan has done the same for Patrick Queen who was a bust before Roquan got there. They may not be #1 next year but their floor with a healthy Roquan, Hamilton, etc is going to be top 5/6. Situation is not even close to comparable to Eagles who don’t have that history or culture or generational difference maker like Roquan.

Yeah, Geno Smith won "Comeback Player of the Year." Cool? He "won" because his previous seasons were based on him sucking, not coming back from a devastating injury (not being able to take a punch doesn't count). Things will only change if he decides to look in DK's direction before the 4th quarter. Ideally, Howell looks competent enough in pre-season so we can snag a couple of mid round picks for Geno. But yes, "Sugar" is embarrassing .

MAILBAG: SF spent THREE 1st rounders for college rarely-played nfl 3rd overall drafted and you... questioned it sodtly... but Atlanta dares to spend ONE draft pick on a QB, that most important position, to play behind a gimpy 35+ year old, ... and you all go crazy objectionable!!! .... i don't get it.... the upside is higher than the downside (unless you thought the Falcons one defensive pick away from the Superbowl). Would you see the pick wise if that expensive vet - who can't do team preseason practices - is still injured or injured again? ... And would you have objected if they had TRADED a 1st rounder to trade for Cousins instead of FA signing? ... pragmatism over John Stuart Mills....

It was Age 30 to 34 in perfect situation with Mahomes/Reid where Kelce became the GOAT. The same thing can happen for Derrick Henry on the Ravens with Lamar. He’s going to have more open rushing lanes, frozen backside defenders, yards before contact, handoffs inside the redzone than he’s ever had before. Priest Holmes had 27 TDs at 30 years old. It’s on the board that Henry approaches that and even the all time record by LT at 28.
