I'm impressed. I am very impressed. Being a pilot myself unfortunately my time has come and gone to be so adventurous in my older years. It was always a dream of mine to fly bush for a few years but never got the chance. I hope this pilot (every pun intended) makes it on some channel so I can watch. This beats the trash on TV now.
When she says that people hit their head on the window it reminded of when I was flying my buddy's Helio this past summer near Prince William Sound we hit turbulence and I hit my head on the ceiling. These ladies, along with every bush pilot up there, are very brave. I can't wait to start working and flying in Talkeetna next summer. Thanks for posting this very well done video!
Ok, I only watched the first few seconds of this video and clenched my teeth and pressed pause to make this comment... .NEVER TURN A PROP WITH YOUR HEAD IN LINE OF THE BLADES.... stand back and used hand from end of blade, in case it does turn or kick, you won't get it in the head... that is a bad move.. no matter how experienced she might be.
Great going ladies. You could probably write a great book about real flying and teach us all much. May God bless you and keep you always. (Numbers 6.24).
Hope this makes it to the tube, would like to fly with these ladies at least once, now on my offical bucket list, some sharp pilots. I'm sure I would learn something. Anything to do with bush flying or Alaska, better than some of the dripple on the tube now.
We are now looking for Alaskan Women pilots for the proposed series to show the executives at a major woman's network what great women there flying for a living up there. Hope to be filming in Sept.
The women you are following are based out of Homer right? Seems odd that a lot of your B-Roll is of video shot up on the Bering Strait with Bering Air planes with shots out at little Diomede. As you must know this is a world away from Homer. It didn't seem like you were following any other pilots then the ones from Smokey Bay. So just wondering if you were just short on video to use for this promo, or if you plan to follow other women pilots for other air carriers.
Someone like Discovery Channel needs to make a series out of their adventures... like they did with Flying Wild Alaska, about the Tweto family airline.
Sounds like a great show, but then I'll watch any show about bush pilots. On the other hand, and this is just my opinion, but it seems slightly strange that you are highlighting the fact that women are bush pilots. I mean it's the 21st century isn't it. I thought we were past the stage where we were saying "Wow, a woman doing an exciting and semi-dangerous job." But maybe that's just me. I guess it is actually pretty unique up there.
Many from Quebec actually take pride in being ignorant and insulting towards americans, like for example nickgen123 who himself is from Quebec. When I was a kid I spent summers on Cape Cod and the worst vacationers there were the ones from Quebec. They purposely left cottages in such a mess that eventually most realtors and other cottage renters would no longer rent to them. When somebody saw an auto with Quebec plates they would - well they didn't like them.
These are responsible pilots, not as exciting as drunken, violent and inept crab fisherman, so it would bee too boring for the average reality TV viewer. However this video was interesting for me!
I like women as pilots very much! They very often fly better than us! BUT NEVER TURN A PROP COUNTERCLOCKWISE!!!!!!!!! ONLY CLOCKWISE WHY? If the ignition switch is "ON" left/right or both......... the engine can start and you will lose some parts of your body and/or probably YOUR plane will overrun you! Best wishes from Old Germany Josef
Now, in 2020, women in commercial aviation have become common. Many are flying the largest aircraft, both passenger and cargo, all over the world. Women are flying in the military, too, including highly technical specialties, like midair refueling. And why not? No skill is beyond their reach.
No, the way is right: if you turn the prop in the normal way, the oil pump suck the oil and pre-oil the engine, but in reverse pull , you drain the pump and the engine start dry... Only a idiot not check the ignition before prop pull...so if the engine start, it's a idiot less..
Might want to get your parents to read your responses before you hit post. I agree that Nick is ignorant. Regrettably, you put down of a whole province based on a trip with mommy and daddy puts you in the same boat.

@@theclephane2914 Wonder where she flies now. This was 10 years ago.
This was an excellent video topic .... I was wishing for greater length to the storyline though. Are there more videos about these pilots?

If only a woman could teach me bushflight rules. I have allways loved the way they fly.
Good flight! And women are good at flying. Many men should learn from them! ))

Why is it a big deal that they are women? Why does there need to be a video about women pilots?
iamjafoo There’s tons of videos about male pilots. What’s wrong with one about females? 🤷🏼♀️
No, they learn from us men.
short hair chick is hot!
Nothing wrong with women flying, at least they don't have to do any reversing.
Might want to get your parents to read your responses before you hit post. I agree that Nick is ignorant. Regrettably, you put down of a whole province based on a trip with mommy and daddy puts you in the same boat.
flying and being a pilot takes everything that makes a woman a woman, out of a woman. Everybody knows that - not a lot of people want to voice it :/
so does it take men from hard to hard-ass?
+++...
Smoken babes? I doubt that... women.. yes,... but "smoken babes"?... I would not go that far.
all your opinion
