I can relate to everything you say being an international student in the US as well. Most of the time I feel like the only time when I'm genuinely happy is when I'm at home with my family, and I throw myself into work so I can drown out all the emotions and homesickness. I can't really complain either because I'm already in a very privleged position :) Thank you for sharing your perspective and your life it really helps me go through hard times

I know editing and filming can take up a long time (esp with a full time job) but keep it up! I know exactly how you feel about being homesick. That’s why now my parents live with me and I never want to be away from them.
Same feelings as I left TW, so I tried to get to the airport by myself lol. But indeed we will def tryhard to get a better life and future here. Can't agree more. Thank you for sharing.

there's HK restaurant called 港食堂 right next to Yi Fang, and I go there a few times a month, and highly recommend their dishes.
watched all your vlogs last night and love them, as I work at media agency and RFP spotify for all McDonald's campaigns, it feels so cool when I saw the advertiser's campaigns analyzed that way in your vlog, and yes totally feel you on the homesickness too, hopefully TW could gradually stop quarantine policy, really miss my parents.

As someone who also moved away from my family (albeit interstate, so not as far as you) I know what it's like to say goodbye every time I see them. Even talking on the phone and hanging up there have been times where I've started to cry. I also usually tear up as I get into the car to drive away as well (when I drive to see them). I don't know how you can do it moving to another country entirely, especially if you have plans to stay there permanently. It definitely helps to have a support network, but also be wary that you shouldn't rely on one single person to be your support network. If you like where you're living that also helps a lot! But yeah, it's definitely been hard these two years because of stupid COVID.

Homesickness can be depressing, so I recommend you redirect your focus on something else. Maybe not on food that burns your gums (“oh fk it’s really hot”), but go see a movie, visit an art gallery, go for a long walk in nature, etc. you can always mimic me, do the wine diet!

What language do you speak with your boyfriend when you're not filming?
I've been living overseas for several years (US citizen in Spain), but these past couple years have been the toughest of all. I got EU permanent residency last year, so I'm currently visiting my family for a few months. I'm staying with my sister and her baby son, so I'm sure leaving will be rough this time around 😭
we speak 90% english and 10% chinese haha. aww cheering for you!!

(or I just saw... 6 years) then how come your English is like you have lived here for 12 years or something... I have a friend who came here for 20 years and then he still speaks English like "This is belong to me"...
She went to an international school, so most/all of her education has been in English.
