I don't know another guitarist who is as much FUN to listen to as Redd. Always full of surprises; and I love the way he mixes it up on the vocal phrasing too. Country with a jazz sensibility, so inventive and fresh. The steel player and other guitarist are no slouches either, and the rhythm section is right on the money. Great stuff.
One of my regrets in life - and I have many - is that I didn't know about Redd until about a year ago. That's a lot of years without his great music. So I'm making up for lost time.
Janne Haavisto - he's done some crazy stuff (like release a CD called Permanent Jet Lag), but those Finns know what they're doing when it comes to music.
@@pagophilus Finns know how to do a good many things! I know because I’m from dah UP. I was born smack dab in dah iron belt. I grew up with Finnish Americans. I have a Finnish American Uncle who is an MD. I had a Finnish American Economics Professor who taught me well. Even though I had his class 27 years ago, I still remember much! Yah to dah UP! Yah to dah Finnish people!!
It doesn't get much better than this! Especially love both of Redd's guitar solos - they both reference the melody, they both have twang, and they both contain the occasional surprise. This is how it's done.
What a great surprise at 2 a.m. to find a song that stands on its own feet, sung and played by peeps that are worthy of it. Thx, I'm gonna start checkin' out more of yer stank!!
I had ole Red on my first sessions in Hendersonville , an awesome player ! Played for Hank Jr. , Last time I saw him he was on stage at Skulls Rainbow Palace in Printers Alley ! This is Great Country Music ! Accept ni substitutes !
This is excellent. I follow roots music broadly. I know lotsa stuff about players and connections, and musical trivia, and I didn't know him! I am glad that now I do.
It's a travesty what has happened to Nashville and the garbage they call country music today. Redd is the last of a dying breed of musicians 2nd to none.
There aren't enough words in the world to describe how much I love this.

Hi. Try Greg Koch he is a real "clown" with the guitar (in a good way). A lot of fun and surprises.
Couldn't have said it better!

The picking doesn't get much better than this! Thanks for posting.
Redd never fails to "sizzle"! Great drummer........bass player too!
Great Bass Player Back There
It is almost scary how good Redd is!!! The whole band behind him is wonderful, but Redd is beyond amazing in my mind.
Dunno who that drummer is but he's taking control of the tempo and laying down the beat. One of the best I've heard.

This is the way I like to hear music. Intimate setting, low profile, top shelf musicianship. Everybody there is lucky.
Redd gets better every time I hear him. The band is damn tight as well.
Redd is one of the great ones. I love this music and people should be swinging to it.
I would love to jam with him myself!
Awesome job Redd! And that band is absolutely kick-ass! Best version of this song I ever heard.
holy steel player! damm!

Real country music! Listen to the version on Redd's CD with Jimmy Murphy on steel.. smoking hot: ua-cam.com/video/azmvo90icYM/v-deo.html
A nice lady..your music..well jeez.
Very nice. I wish he would've let the other guitar player finish his solo tho...
Well, Redd is amazing, but Joey McKenzie is THE best Swing rhythm player that ever walked the earth!!!
It's a travesty what has happened to Nashville and the garbage they call country music today. Redd is the last of a dying breed of musicians 2nd to none.
Don’t do this song like this, it’s a traditional country song, and was not written this way!
LOL
Imagine being so entitled you tell strangers how to play a song...
Relax man..... this kicks ass
