  • Schuberth SR2 Helmet Review
    www.revzilla.co...
    In the world of high-end motorcycle helmets, there is everyone else, and then there is Schuberth. With the new SR2, the legendary manufacturer has taken their specificity to a new level and incorporated a revised venting system, updated Coolmax interior, redesigned 2D Pinlock face shield, and the addition of a third shell size when compared to its predecessor which only had 2. Additional features of the Schuberth SR2 Helmet include a re-calibrated shell shape that was honed through rigorous wind-tunnel testing and an elongated internal liner that works to defend against roll-offs.

    The visor removal is super easy on both helmets. SR1 and SR2. What you have to do is:
    1. Close the visor fully.
    2. Press both buttons on each side
    3. Lift visor up until it clicks while holding buttons down.
    Not like he's showing. Works every time. I even most often do visor swaps with the helmet on.

    I had two old SR1 helmets, they were great. In the U.K. they are being discounted heavily now - I ve just bought an SR2 but agree with you, great white shark all the way 😎

    As an owner of an AGV Pista GP RR and this, this is a seriously underrated helmet. It’s super plush and very aerodynamic.

    Got this helmet recently in matte black. Looks incredible with the iridium visor. Very sleek and light at 1300 grams for the Large (as can be seen on a sticker when this video cuts to a shot of the back). Fantastic lid all around, but I share Anthony's sentiments on the visor system. Could've taken a cue from Shoei. Still give it 5 stars though as a race helmet that's also great for street riding.

    Hi just got my sr2, and tried pull of the visor like you did. It went of, but its the wrong way :) you have to take the visor all the way to closed , then push the buttons to hook the releas! If you do it like in the video you will brake it in time :)
    Super happy with the helmet !

    I really like your reviews, good job! I've been looking at three different helmets; the Schubert SR2, the Shoei NXR (RF1200) and the Shoei GT-Air. I'm riding a naked bike (Yamaha MT-09) with a fairly upright riding position, so which of the above helmets would you recommend?

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  7 років тому +1

      I'd go with the NXR or the GT-Air. Just decide whether you want an internal sun visor or not. -DrewZilla

    • @DesdichadoDK
      @DesdichadoDK 7 років тому

      Thanks for your swift reply! I've tried both Shoei helmets now and while I liked the snug fit of the NXR and the smaller shell size, I had some issues with my breath hitting the front of the helmet below the visor, which caused me to sound like a heavy breather.
      The GT Air also had a decent fit, but I don't really like the extra weight, the sun visor - and most of all the 3/5 star rating from SHARP. (perhaps due to the visor). That's why I was interested in the SR2, but I understand this is a more track oriented helmet, which requires you to have an aggressive riding position, correct?

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  7 років тому

      It's optimized for a full-tuck riding position, but you could also wear it on your more upright bike as well. -DrewZilla

      So if the Sena 50R is a universal system then it will fit (we don't sell Sena so i'm not sure about it being universal).

      It's a Sena 10R, which just attaches to the side of the helmet via adhesive-backed Velcro. The speakers and microphone also attach to the inside of the helmet via adhesive-backed Velcro. -DrewZilla

    what it means "tear off" in the visor ?

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  6 років тому +1

      _Tear-offs_ are pieces of clear plastic film that can be attached to posts on the sides of the face shield (tear-off posts). These _tear-offs_ are designed for racing use. When a racer's face shield (visor) gets dirty with bugs or debris, the racer can quickly "tear off" the dirty piece of film to clear the field of view. Hope this explains it! -DrewZilla

    How does this compare to AGV Corsa helmet? I've been waiting for the SR2 for about a year now but I've recently gotten interested in AGV Corsa. I have a problem with my Corsair V (2 months until recommended usage ends) where I can't see far ahead when leaning off or in a tuck, especially uphill. From what I can tell, both SR2 and Corsa will be better than Corsair X for this. Would you say this is true? Which one would you recommend? I always use earplugs, noise is none issue for me. Neither is weight. Thanks in advance.

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  8 років тому +1

      Of all the race helmets, the Corsa seems to have the best upward visibility, so I'd recommend trying the AGV. -DrewZilla

If yes do I just pull it out to remove it and then just push back the new one ? It seems like the little clip inside is broken and it doesn't close properly, but I can only find on line from SR1

    Question I had the sr1 however had pressure on forehead, now have an shoei NXR fits perfect, are they any schuberth helmet that fit similar to NXR?

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  8 років тому +1

      The new SR2 fits closer to the NXR (RF-1200 here in the US), though keep in mind that Schuberth's sizing intervals are 1cm smaller (56-57cm vs. Shoei's 57-58cm for medium). -DrewZilla

    revzilla can you please tell me which is the better helmet in terms of quality safety and performance on a professional racing level out of the shoie Spirit lll or the shoie x fourteen ?

    • @VTECheart
      @VTECheart 8 років тому +1

      I think those are the same. The X14 is the name is North America because Spirit is too fanciful of a name for us butch Americans. At least that's what I think the reasoning is

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  8 років тому +1

      They're basically the same helmets but for different markets. The X-14 is DOT- and Snell-rated for North America, whereas the X-Spirit III is ECE-rated for Europe. From a "professional racing" perspective, you'd want the helmet with the certification required by your club racing or track day organization. If you're in the UK, that would likely be the ECE-rated X-Spirit III. -DrewZilla

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  6 років тому

      Both are track-level helmets, so quality is great for both of course. Both fit an intermediate oval head shape as well, so the bid difference is the outer shape. The SR2 has a more traditional, rounded shape, while the Pista GP R is more angular. I will say that the Schuberth is a bit quieter. -DrewZilla
