    I have an intolerance to onions and garlic, so this was a good recipe to see!

    The best Mediterranean diet programme ever. You explain everything so easily and in a way every one can understand. I have been on this way of eating for 3 years now and feel great.

    I'm a fan of chunky sauce too. I would likely add oregano and basil and sometimes mushrooms or black olives, etc. I like your videos a lot!

    Thank you Dr. Anna! I am an avid follower of your videos and can’t wait to try this recipe. Whenever I make spaghetti the sauce is straight out of a jar. That’s going to change. :0) thank you!!

    I really love your channel. ❤
    I learned a lot from you. I am watching your videos successively for 3 days now. 😊
    To be honest, I have been so scared in using extra virgin olive oil in sauteing vegetables as advised by many as it goes rancid. What is your take on it?

      I’m so glad you’re here and enjoying the channel!!! I do touch on this olive oil point in a couple of videos - people have been cooking with olive oil for centuries, so it’s perfect for stovetop cooking or baking. Obviously it’s not a good oil for deep frying but we don’t want to do that anyways ;)

    Do you have a good recipe for octopus the way they do it in Italy? I miss that so much. I look forward to trying this recipe too!

    If small tomatoes are out of season, can you use canned tomatoes instead? If so, what size can

    • @annapleetmd
      @annapleetmd  7 місяців тому +3

      Great question! Absolutely, I’m always a huge fan of canned things! The size will completely depend on how much volume you want to make. For a personal portion, just a small 14oz can should do the trick.
      Be aware that canned tomatoes often are quite watery- you’ll want to cook that sauce with the lid off to let that extra liquid evaporate

    A little correction: zucchini does not belong to the nightshade family.

    Can you add meat to this pasta sauce? And when would you add it in?

    • @annapleetmd
      @annapleetmd  4 місяці тому +1

      You sure can!! You may even want to add the meat right at the beginning to brown it before cooking the veggies

      I have already made the vegetable sauce a couple of times. Very tasty!

    Do the Italians ever add a herb blend like Tuscan Herbs to their sauce?

    • @annapleetmd
      @annapleetmd  7 місяців тому +1

      Mm not necessarily- Only if a sauce was specifically supposed to be “herby.” Many classic pasta dishes are very pure in their ingredients. For example, pesto has lots of basil, so of course for that it will have herbs. But a tomato sauce for pasta is
      unlikely to have things like herbs, onion, garlic from what I’ve seen (how different than how we are taught in the USA!)
