I have a old fridge,if the coil at the back is not submerged in water tray, can it cause the fridge to run continuously ,what should I do if this the cause
Is the compressor fan suppose to be turning constantly? Because motor is running but I don't see the fan next to it spinning, yet cold air is still blowing in freezer? Please any help?
@@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel hello. Looks like this fridge dont have the coils under it.. its one of those old school basic fridge with the freezer on top n fridge in bottom. What should i do next?
I have a new fridge freezer that comes on for half an hour then stops for 15 minutes then back on for half an hour, this happens during a 24 hour period, is this normal? Thanks
My SxS freezer temp is set at 0 and fridge at 37. My freezer is so damn cold the vodka I use to make my vodka sauce was frozen, and still running/cooling yet the 'actual temp' on display says freezer is 9, feels more like -9. The fridge is mehhhhh, feels okay. Seems like it could be a tad cooler. I can feel air coming from the damper vent thing, it's very light cold air, very light. I think I have heard the evap fan making some noises recently. I could definitely hear it spinning now and then, like it's blade is brushing up on something now and then. But the freezer is blowing cold ass air within itself for sure. When I shut the freezer door it sounds like a vacuum seals the door, I think that happened in the fridge once or twice as well, idk, you have to pull a lil harder to open the door. A few months ago the fridge stopped working all together except the interior lights, and my dad who is also my landlord 😁 told me repair people couldn't be here for 4 days so I grabbed my multi meter and pulled it out unplugged and started checking the plugs on the control board. Just started with the J2 when I saw some discoloration on the board all around 2 resistors that were side by side , I determined those were for the fan motors. I then went to go check the fan and coils and OMG sooooooooooooooo gross! It looked as though the condenser threw on a dusty ass fur coat, lol. Fan too was covered in dustndirt yuck. I tested the resistors and they were not blown but clearly were working hard, but I took the board out and there were I swear microscopic voltage regulators on the back side of the board to the resistors that were clearly fried. Repair guy looked at the fridge for 2nsecond and said control board, $850 please and I said what about the fan motors? I was concerned about the evap fan motor and he said no, not even looking at the board, lol. I'm wondering if the fan is going bad and is what caused the original board to fail. Surely looked that way. Plus every thing else tested fine, I just didn't know how to test the fan. But I believe I do know. It's either that and or the temp sensors since the freezer temp is set at 0 and clearly is below 0 yet actual temp says 9, there is no way.
Hi Charlie, I would transfer all the food from the freezer to the refrigerator section and then unplug your refrigerator and open the freezer door for about eight hours to let everything completely thaw. You can then plug it back in and both the freezer and the refrigerator will work properly again.
I have an older Frigidaire Model FRT21NNG. Probably about 20 years old. No problem with cooling but it runs pretty much constantly. The condenser coils are on the back and are clean. Any ideas? Thank you in advance.
my fridge is super cold, seal Is fine, condenser fan runs, condenser is clean, evaporator is clean, no clicking... 5 minutes off 5 minutes on like clock work????? wtH!!

Great tip!
Yes, I use my compressor from the front with shop vac running behind fridge to catch dust.
Thank you so very much Scott for your time and help.

I think thoroughly cleaning the coils will help the fridge get rid of heat so it doesn’t have to continuously run.
Great, instructive video! Thank you loads and bunches. p.s. I sneezed while watching this. 😉
Glad you enjoyed it!😊😊
@@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel Thank you again. I sneezed even more while cleaning the coils to our 12-year-old fridge! It seems much happier now. Phew! 😉
😊😊😂
I sneezed about 8 times doing this. It’s a dusty mess

That fan will kick on when it gets too hot.
@@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel thank you so much! 😊
Im thinking this is gonna do it. Cant wait for morning to clean it out. I do have like 3 dogs..🤔 i hope this is it.. will let u know tomorrow.
Awesome, please let us know how it goes😊

A leaf blower! 5 seconds and wala. Yes it's a bit dusty but cleaning is fun.
That’s how you do it😂😂😂
@@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel I tried it. It was fun!
You know...mine is really low to the ground and not easy to get to the cold that are 2 inches high, a leaf blower might do wonders!
Thanks!
Can we use blower?
I used a shot vac & leaf blower. The blower works well but it shoots dust everywhere
Well you better go catch it
😊😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
You should take that comedy act on the road.

Did you find a solution
@@josielopez7987 I pulled it away from the wall a little bit. That seems to have helped.

You’re doing good. Just need to replace the run capacitor that lives next to the big black condenser.
can just write a sentence telling to clean the dusts, 10mins is toooo long for that, how useful
Just watch the video man you people are ridiculous
Okay KAREN 😂😂
I used my air compressor, that was better and quicker
Good thinking
