    Just finished "What It Is Like to Go to War." Will be reading "Matterhorn" while recovering from surgery--welcome to our "sixties," Karl!! I hold the Bronze Star, two Purple Hearts, and the Combat Infantryman's Badge from Vietnam. Many thanks for your service to your country, both on and off the battlefield.--Tom Reilly

    I wish Matterhorn was longer I'm almost done reading it and i don't want it to end. Great book if you haven't read it I suggest you go now and pick up a copy.

    I've read many military books, especially dealing with Vietnam. This is the best book on "Nam , written to date. You feel all the pain, sorrow and misery of the grunts in the bush. Can't wait to read his next book.

    He’s right - the book had to wait for its audience to be ready to read it. It worked out.
