In a switch from the typical genre, Madame Web tells the standalone origin story of one of Marvel publishing's most enigmatic heroines. The suspense-driven thriller stars Dakota Johnson as Cassandra Webb, a paramedic in Manhattan who develops the power to see the future… and realises she can use that insight to change it. Forced to confront revelations about her past, she forges a relationship with three young women bound for powerful destinies...if they can all survive a deadly present.

Sony owns the film and video game rights to Spider-Man including merchandise that is tied to said mediun but the comics and everything else belongs solely to Marvel/Disney.

Duh, it's capitalism. Money talks at the end of the day. I bet you and anyone else will do the same if they see themselves sitting on a piece of IP that they can easily make a couple of million or billion off every single year.

I'm not watching this. This trend of modern feminists imbuing every show/movie with misandry has become a problem for us fantasy/sci- fans. And what makes it so much worse is that if we comment about it we're called misogynists. This needs to stop.
It's also so extremely hypocritical and devious of them. They have become the very thing they hated in men. The stories used to have great women and men as characters, not this all-woman casting and repeating theme of demeaning men that we've seen for years now. Equality would equally represent male and female, not one or the other. It's creating more cultural problems then helping.
Being a published author, Hollywood needs to stop lazily shoving their political crap into their productions, because it breaks all emersion and is creating more division and culture wars. Also, good writers with skill and care can put a parable that's uplifting for the world into a story and that still have a great plot, world building, and character development. This is just fan fiction surface level writing that uses virtue signaling to attack anyone who critiques it.
Found the man who has never read the comments. Its not sexist to point things out, it's sexist to point things out that's just blatantly wrong while you have no proof. Madame Webb is a mutant tied closely to Spider Characters. She is basically an oracle for them. You shouldn't complain about "equal representation" or whatever you claim Sony isn't doing when these Spider characters are the first women heroes in the SSU
That statement is so idiotic and off base from reality that I don't even know how to respond. You would have to be such a mindless consumer or just blind to not see what I am talking about. Hollywood has been ruining stories for over three years now, like The Witcher, and The Silmarillion, Star Wars, Marvel, (etc...I could give so many more examples). Some of these, like The Silmarillion and The Witcher are my favorite books ever. It's crazy how badly they ruined something so beautiful. They have the fan base built. All they have to do is stay true to the source material and they could have been the best shows/movies ever made. At this point, when it comes to remakes, I honestly think AI could do a better job.@@MistrumGenderplasma
