The fold out legs on the later panels are a great improvement. Our earlier version of the iTech 200 watt hasn't got the fold out legs so isn't as efficient. Some home made uprights will hopefully improve it's performance.
Yeh i heard they had listened to those sort of reviews and made the change. After using it for the past month i wish they actually went the other way i could get the panel further away from the van more often then not. With my old blanket (which was rubbish but wont mention names) i used to always prop it up in some way to help
Those solar blankets are great, I have one the same as yours plus a 120 w blanket, not a itechworld one its an old one, still helps enormously with power on those cloudy days. You’ll love it. I have just had 260w panels put on my roof so now i can use my induction plate and no gas, wonderful, i love it. Cheers Judy
Its made a huge difference for us over the past month, has made editing these vids much easier too knowing ive got the power for it. Id definitely consider upgrading the roof panels too, might be a future improvement. Thanks for watching
yep, the bmpro have that extra aux for another solar input on the side of the box, but it has to be unregulated power to the bmpro. i do similar in my van with a portable when i need to, i can also hook up the front grey anderson and top up off the landcruisers 170 AH of aux batts, but thats a pitfa.
Yeh handy that theres an extra auxiliary that keeps it simple to add an extra blanket. In theory i could charge up my car too but ive got 2 batteries and nothing hanging off them so they’ve never given me grief. When i get the opportunity to install a fridge in the car i will look into that setup too
@@Ourwhittleadventure the grey anderson on my van, is only voltage in ( bmpro35 ) so a panel wont work on it as the panels reg wont see batt voltage to work, hence the extra lead i have to pop out a windo for the portable panel. but when the voltage is over 13.8 ( the redarc dc/dc ) will charge the 2 auxs in wagon, then flow into the van. hence the pitfa. have you popped a volt meter on that new panel to see what voltage its putting out unregulated? id be curious to know, id expect 28- 30 volts dc.
Good pick up. Mine was blue and there is no official standard but typically your right, Grey is regulated, Blue is unregulated and Red is for ESC. I carry spare greys for the car but not blues, this blanket came with Greys (intended to be used with the regulator) so i just changed the blue out for grey on the van and relocated it somewhere practical, im the only one using it so i know what that plug is designed for but will swap back to a blue when we sell the van eventually to save confusion.
@@Ourwhittleadventure Fair enough. I have just cut my battery boxes of and put on new bigger boxes to carry two Itech 240a batterys. I am going to put an extra grey anderson underneath the blue one. This one will connect directly to battery. So I can the use it with either the 40a battery charger (When on power) or Solar panels with regulator. Because the BM Pro only puts out 25a.
@jamieweston4495 yeh thats a good idea! I was just thinking about some options like that. Apparently i dont need to extend these battery boxes by much and i can fit 2 of the 120x side by side in each one so i could double my capacity then yes would need to do what your doing and have a seperate charger. Is it working well for you?
Im not sure, this wasn’t paid advertising. I reached out to them myself to see if i could review one of their blankets and they gifted it to me in exchange , so to follow YTs rules i need to tick the paid advertising box. Im not sure what about it wasn’t honest in your opinion. I used my shunt in real time to show exactly what it was adding to my system in the different situations. Ive been using it nearly every day since this video and its still adding the same. So i wouldn’t be without it now.
Sounds like youve not had a great run with one? Ive had it about 6 weeks now and 5 of that has been offgrid so its been getting used a bit and the results have still been the same for me so far. Just sharing my thoughts on it initially but will happily follow up after a few months of rugged use to see how it holds up
@Ourwhittleadventure we love watching you channel I just had a bad experience. I done a review on a product I bought 2 years ago after I got so many emails asking for one. My first review was good but I just wished I had waited longer to do a more honest review. Look forward to seeing an update.
@@smurfzilla5756I think you are being a bit harsh on yourself there mate? Doing a review at anytime is based on what you have experienced? If that product lets you down or doesn’t live up to your expectations doesn’t mean that is going to be the same for everyone? Nothing dishonest about that. However a follow up video would definitely be of great benefit to your followers. Mark installed Itechworld world lithium and initially did an install vid and then followed up some time down the well traveled track with an update on how they performed 👍

We love our 300w blanket was thinking of getting a 200w for Ute 👌
Great bit of kit for travel
Awesome! Good to hear your having a good experience with yours too. Has really stepped it up for us and wish i got one sooner
Great review! - Been looking at getting one of these from iTech World.
Ive been really happy with it, have been using it heaps over the past month

@glenod ah ofcourse. I have put a multimeter on it when i fist got it i think it was 22volts from memory il do it again soon and check again
Great stuff cheers 🍻
Cheers buddy
Great info did you drop in itech batteries without lithium charger how do you monitor on your phone
Yes i did i have BMpro35Sr which isnt Lithium compatible and i installed a Victron shunt and monitor that on my phone
Why is your Anderson plug Grey, My new age is blue. I thought the blue was for unregulated solar, And grey was for regulated.

Why are most of Itech reviews including this one paid advertising? Obviously not a honest review

Yeh thats fair, i think its important to do follow up vids too after extended use, see how the product holds up especially the way we use them.
