Great build Chris, every safari type adventure movie I ever saw they drove a land Rover in one form or another. It is one of the most recognized vehicles ever and I always wanted a kit. Hello, This is one of the greatest kits lately. To bad I don't have anyplace to build for now. I'm still settling in to a new place. I got to get this kit. I have to say this is by far your best review to date. I really like the weathering you did, it is not over done and looks great. I see all to often way over done weathering like they sat in the woods for decades. Seems people get carried away. A little goes a long way. I look at old cars, trucks and machines on line. This gives me an idea on real time weathering. Thank you for this review. If it was not for you I would never know this made. But I do look at Model Round Up a lot and a few others. Thanks again. Great build, as always and a big help as I start my own (July 2023). I discovered a detail that Revell got wrong that may be of help to other modellers. This is the 'doghouse' or transmission tunnel cover. On the real vehicles, they were never handed, all vehicles had the same transmission, as per right hand drive. In that area, only the hand brake lever changed position, not the 4WD & high/low ratio levers.
I just got back into modeling after a 17 year hiatus. Your channel has been a big help for me to get back into things. Thanks for taking the time to do this. Awesome work BTW.
Chris, I just found your channel; and I'm astounded at the realistic quality of your work. All done with spray paint, brushed acrylic or oil paint- utilizing brilliant weathering techniques- no airbrush. As a fan of the hobby, I'm truly inspired Thank you!
Excellent detailing on this model, Chris. I had a 1970 Land Rover, 5 door Station Wagon just like that one. Mine had spare tire mounts on back door and Hood. By the way, those are not windows on the roof, they're domes. The under roof has vents. The domes are so you can open up the vents to for extra cooling, or to extract heat. Cheers!
Very cool! I love the way you “dirty it up”. It would be cool if someone made trash (I don’t know, maybe someone does) that you could throw around on the floor. Like McDonald’s wrappers, empty soda and water bottles, etc.
I'll have to try my hand at this model. My Dad bought one in 1971 when we were living in Holland (AFCENT). Picked it up in England from the factory and ultimately made it's way back to Canada. Unfortunately, my Dad's pride and joy was lost only a year and a half after buying it because a mechanic drained the fuel from the fuel tank, which he then let flow to the furnace at the dealership. Melted the Landrover down to the frame. A total loss. Very happy to see this model.

Amazing work on that!! CongratsThe only thing I never was hugely keen was that the spare wheel is located on the roof. So I drill a couple of small holes on the bonnet and mounted it there instead
More like Revell of Poland, which is just fine with me! Mine was molded in white! They stuff the long tree in the box to the point that it bends. If you plan to keep the kit unbuilt for a million years, you might want to do something about the bent tree.
Sorry for the slight off topic, but is there any chance you could measure the wheelbase for me. I'm thinking of buying one to do an RC conversion. Thank you.
Nice kit and tremendous modeling skill set. Scale modeling is truly an art. As a whole it looks so realistic all the way down to the weathered engine.

@@hpiguy I'm not on Facebook.
More like Revell of Poland, which is just fine with me! Mine was molded in white! They stuff the long tree in the box to the point that it bends. If you plan to keep the kit unbuilt for a million years, you might want to do something about the bent tree.
Very nice build, this was one of my favorite utility vehicles,

Sorry for the slight off topic, but is there any chance you could measure the wheelbase for me. I'm thinking of buying one to do an RC conversion. Thank you.
Question. I'm building this kit now and I love the faded green on the sides. How did you do that?
Nevermind. I just got to the end and heard you. Thanks. Great job.

Beautiful job on the weathering and oxidation....
Thanks for watching and Happy New Year from hpiguys Workshop!
Great build. Thanks - what is the difference between this kit (07047) and RMX-854498?
Same kits, different boxes.
Nice job. The undercarriage is so realistic. Land Rover would love this model. 👍

24:54 It's not a Range Rover, but a Land Rover 109 ;-)
I’ve been looking at this kit to buy and then this vid pops up, how coincidental is that! Excellent job btw. Brilliant weathering
Thanks for taking the time to leave a nice comment!
