Restored! 1993 Acura Legend L Coupe - Time Lapse
Вставка
- Опубліковано 25 лют 2021
- This 6-minute video took 2 months in the making. This started as a mostly original, 115k-mile, well-kept Granada Black Legend coupe, but it needed a few very important cosmetic and mechanical updates to get it to 100%. I hope you enjoy following some of the steps that the journey involved. Thanks for all who were part of the project!

This is the kind of content I'm here for.
Haha, glad you enjoyed!
Imagine if everyone took care of their cars as well as Tyson. 🤔 Wow. Love how he treats each and every one of his Acura’s with so much attention to detail.
Absolutely! Thanks for watching!
I still got mine I bought brand new in 93. Looking at these videos makes me want to post mine.
That's awesome, upload some vids of it
I knew you’d bring this one back to brochure-level quality, which is exactly the way I like to see these. Beautifully done!
That's precisely what I was going for! Thanks Colin!
The factory wheels suit that car sooooo much better than those aftermarket ones.
Totally agree on that!
Still one of the most beautiful coupes on the road (if you can find one). Had a 91 5 speed LS and a 94 LS. Still miss them!
Agreed on all!
Your dessert mist Coupe has a greater “presence” than this black Coupe which looks sharp after the restoration. Thanks for sharing the labor of love for these forgotten cars.
You're welcome, and thanks for watching!
Always been drawn to this car
Thanks for watching!
Man this was my dream car back then. I wouldn’t be surprise if Nissan skyline was modeled after this look.
Definitely a great design
Like seeing a long lost friend. Great restoration!
You and me both! Thanks Ty!
I am very excited to restore a 95 LS Coupe that I just acquired. It needs a lil more love than this one but it’s love I am willing to give!! Lol thanks for the inspiration
You bet. Good luck with it!!
I can just feel the love you’ve put into that Legend from all the way here ❤️ my favorite car out of your entire collection, Ty.
Clean af... find me a gs6sp please
Thanks Juan!
Now that is a rare one!
Such a timeless machine.
Thank you!
Man this is cool. She is gorgeous, so clean. I just picked up a 95 Legend coupe that needs restoring. Undergoing a mechanical diagnostic as i type. I've wanted a Legend since before I had a license lol. I respect the dedication getting yours back to showroom condition, I plan to go more of a rest-mod lol. Starting with coilers that are in transit, I want BBS RS wheels, and Custom paint. Hope you've still got this beauty.
I sold it but I still have 4 other Legends! Post some videos of yours!
Tyson is out here living my dream of restoring as many Legends as humanly possible. Great work!
Haha pretty much
I used to own a 93 Legend Coupe LS and loved it. Such a great car, and the design still holds up all these years later.
Couldn't agree more!
One of the best cars ever made!! Loved the 6sp manual version!! Even the Auto was good!! Kinda nice to see Acura getting back to this too! Great video!!
Thank you for watching!
Order has been restored to the universe- it looks great!!
Thanks Tim!
You did that car some serious justice! 👍🏽
Thanks, I'm proud of the way it turned out!
I just flew from NY to LA and back yesterday just to buy a 93 coupe L 6speed Type II. I've owned several Hondas and Acuras but this was my most ambitious and gratifying purchase to this point. Can't wait to join the Legend enthusiasts club.
Welcome to the family!
It's always pleasing to see such cars get the love they deserve. Absolutely beautiful 👍
Couldn't agree more!
Awesome! No one can question the degree of skills he put forth to produce such quality in his vintage cars.
I own a 1969 T-Bird. The motor runs great. I lost my garage to a storm, so the body needs skillful work.😢
Thank you! Hopefully you get your T-bird fixed up soon.
Man. My husband takes such good care of our cars! All jokes aside, this video was EXCELLENT. Production going up! Woo!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for being a supporter!
Doing the Lord's work son. New sub
Thank you!
LOL.
Wow I love the back. Looks like a long-tail edition.
It's a really great design
Nice! The scenes with it complete driving around the office building is total 90s throwback.
Haha that's what I was going for!
I had to rewind this video to appreciate how gorgeous the Acura looks!
Thank you!
Absolutely brilliant restoration 👍👍
Thank you!
Looks like you put that original 80's Acura smell back in there lol. 👍🏾
That's the best part!
Seeing these transformations keeps me motivated. You did a fantastic job with restoring car, Tyson. Bravo!
Glad you enjoyed it! That means a lot coming from you Rob!
You never cease to amaze! Beautiful job, as always
Thanks Conor! Glad you approve!
I had a 95 Acura Legend for 23 years, it was very clean, black with tan interior. Don't forget to change the gear oil transaxle oil L'm not talking about the transmission fluid. The drain plug for the transaxle oil is on the right side by the front tire, use a 3/8 rachect to remove the drain plug.. The fill plug is right above that drain plug..
Thanks for the tip.
By far the best legend in your collection. Been looking for the same color combination for years and can't find it nowhere. Great job 👏
Nice, this one is going up for sale. Buy it.
Looks incredible! They did a great job on the bumpers. Interior looks new. Such a great body style.
Thanks, I'm really pleased with how it turned out!
Another great video Tyson! Really enjoy watching these transformations. Amazing how good those OE wheels look compared to the aftermarket ones.
Keep the vids coming!
You know it! Thank you Michael!
She cleaned up nice!! Something so timeless about about the legend coupe especially in black.
Agreed, thanks Peter!
Love that Legend always did. Great video
Thank you!
Love the editing here. Good job on bringing this one back!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks Dillon!
Wow great transformation Tyson! Looks awesome!
Thanks Marc!
Been waiting for a new video. Always an inspiration Tyson! Just washed my 99’ Civic EX today and felt proud :)
Nice work!
Amazing job. Love this legend generation. And the oem wheels look so much better.
Totally agree, and thanks for watching!
That car is turning me crazy ! But here, rust loved to eat those Legend, Vigor. Because no one left .
That's true
Excellent job, looks fantastic. Impressive turn around time.
Yes! I know, given the timing this came together nicely! Thanks Chris
Nice job Tyson, she looks just as good as she did on her delivery day back in 93. Keep up the great work restoring Acura’s.
Thank you, I appreciate that!
Really quite stunning! Well done Tyson!
Thanks Scott!
Wow! It looks brand new!
Thanks for watching!
You inspire me! I personally love Toyota and Lexus vehicles but the Legend has always been a favorite of mine. I plan to purchase a Lexus LS430 and restore it. Love the attention to detail on all your cars!
Thank you, I appreciate that!
Most beautiful coupe! Love it!
Thanks Jason, I'm pretty proud of how it turned out.
this is my dream man and you are living it. happy for you bro
Haha thanks Ben!
Really well done Tyson. Car looks amazing.
Thank you
@@TysonHugie yes sir I’m in the middle of getting my rl back to new like lol. This was inspitin
Great job Tyson as always!!!!!!!
Thanks Thomas! Just trying to keep up with your clean rides!
Something about the legends that I love! I just never own one. Maybe one day I’ll look for a 6 speed in green 😁 hood job brother. Those oem wheels look way better then the one it came with for sure
Agreed, thanks for the support!
@@TysonHugie of course brother!!
Looking so much better. Your attention to detail is unmatched
Thanks for that!
Awesome job, car is mint. Keeper!
Thanks Dave!
That's what I'm saying 😏 love how the way you making the legend Acura shine sweet 🧁
Thank you!
Another great restoration!
Glad you like it!
old school Japanese cars are a thing of beauty
Totally agree with you!
I only wish it was a LS/GS with a 6-speed manual trans. ;) Nice work brining that back. Over the years, people don't source the proper parts and they just get cheap aftermarket crap - like the lights - and these cars usually end up in the scrap yard. At least this is one back to good and hopefully it will be that way for a long time.
Thanks Daniel. They didn't make a GS coupe. LS was the highest trim.
@@TysonHugie I literally just came back to the video to update my comment to LS/GS. I prefer the coupe, of course. ;)
Beautiful car! Good luck with it!
Thanks John!
Wow tyson, incredible! Great work
Thanks Neil!
Another amazing job with the Tyson Touch!
Glad you like it!
Always love the videos Tyson... Wish you were on the east coast I'd try to get some of those cars from you!
Haha thank you!
Nice work!!! Looks excellent.
Woot woot, that means a lot coming from the king of project cars!
Brings back memories,had 89,92,94,95 coupes,masterpieces
Wow you have had a lot of Legends!
Beautiful car! Thank you :)
Of course! Glad you enjoyed!
Amazing as always
Thanks Lucas!
Amazing restoration! 💯
Glad you like it!
@@TysonHugie love the channel. 💯
Every time you post something about a Legend, I go hunting for one!
This one will be up for grabs soon.
@@TysonHugie - Ok, cool. I have a son that is Graduating and this would be a Great gift for him. Honda/Acura are BULLET PROOF 😊. How can I win this PLEASEEEEEE lol.... Thxs Ken
Tyson, you have such a knack for refreshing these cars. I wish I had your drive and skill. And maybe your seemingly spare no expense approach? Anyway, another job well done!
Haha, the 'spare no expense' part is so true. I have a tough time knowing where to stop with a project car.
@@TysonHugie I should have mentioned the video editing as well. Top notch.
I wish I could do that. My I ask what software are you using?
Looks so good!
Thanks Caleb!
Hope to give this level of care to my 07 Accord soon.
Definitely! Gotta show that car some love.
Like new. Time and love well spent.
Thank you Marek!
Nice. I've always been a legend fan.
Thanks. Same here
My Dad had an '88 Legend coupe, gold, auto, super pretty car, but I've heard the 5 speeds had clutch and drivetrain issues. Timeless cars for sure though.
Nice! The older body style. I have heard more issues about the automatics than the manuals. Sweet cars for sure.
I wish returning cars back to stock was a bigger trend. Especially the 80s-00s era Japanese cars.
Totally agree with you!
Tyson is the Acura Legend G.O.A.T
Haha thank you!
Hey Tyson. Im Ruffin and i also reside in Phoenix. I too am an Acura fanatic and Ive sitting on a 1995 Legend coupe which Id love to restore and maintain as my daily driver. The things is that Ive driven it for a few months after spending over $3k repairing it at a local reputable garage, only to be severely disappointed when i blew the head gasket again. I have watched a number of your vids over a long period of time now and i see that you are very thorough when it comes to fully restoring the same era Acuras and i must admit that Ive also become a fan of your work as well as become inspired by you as well. If you dont mind, I would like to meet you if at all possible and Id also love for you to give me any information you may have about any mechanic shops here in the valley which provide top tier service for these Acuras of the 90's so that i may avoid being burned as I did when dealing with the local mechanics. My goal is to restore her over the time that Im also driving her so i could really use a mechanic in which I could build trust. Have you got any info to help me out with? If so could you reach me at johnsonrj101@gmail please?
Absolutely, I'll send you an email!
Looks very nice Tyson
Thank you!
man I still love that model!
Thank you!
I just realized that I literally have owned a legend for 6 months now and havent even seen one on the road except a grandma driving a 1988 model
They are getting so rare
@@TysonHugie are the 1st generation ones better? What’s the difference
Love this video 👍🏼👏🙌🏼🙏🏽💴I have a 1993 legend sedan. The same gold color as the rapper Ludacris model.
Nice! Cashmere silver metallic
You love Legend and so does she.
Absolutely right!
Sweet coupe!!
Thank you!
I like your car is the first time that i Saw this model
Thanks Dave
Tyson omg you keep teasing me with these awesome builds. I'm gonna need some advice and help in restoring my 95 LS
Haha, glad to be a source of inspiration. Good luck with your '95 build.
The Legend Coupe.....Cant be replicated nor duplicated !
Absolutely correct!
GS wheels FTW! I love it
Definitely - they made a big difference!
Love the Legend the two door is icing 🧁
Thanks Amanda!
Amazing!
Thank you!
I have an all black 93 legend coupe with a spoiler, less than 120K miles on it, and I cannot seem to get it restored. Watching this video makes me incredibly bittersweet.
Hope you get your car fixed up soon
Thanks! Me too
Legend ❤
yes
Beautiful
Thanks Jack!
Wow you really brought it back to life! I miss my 92 Legend LS so much. I wish I never sold it. One of these days I’ll get me another one. By the way, I have a front nose mask for a Legend Sedan I’d like to give to you if you want it. Let me know!
Sure, I'd love that! You can email me at tysonhugie@yahoo.com. Thanks for the support, Kevin!
@@TysonHugie will do!
Replacing those awful wheels made WONDERS for this car.
Right? I knew it would, too! Thanks Brad!
Jack eating? That's weird. Awesome video and transformation!
Hahaha, I had to include that. He brought some food over so we decided to hang out on the camp chairs for a few minutes.
AWESOME ❤
Thanks 🤗
Perfection
Thanks
This car was the ‘Talk of the town’ when it first dropped.
The design has definitely aged well!
Beautiful restoration! Really interested in the techniques and products you use in your detailing. If you haven’t already, could you show tips on the process and best products you like to use to make these cars come out near showroom quality?
Sure, that's a good idea. I'll have to put together a separate video on that. The main things you see in here are Show Car Shine wax from Griot's Garage and Tuff Stuff cleaner for the carpet.
I like how you always re spray the wiper arms.
Nice refresh on that 93 L, brings back fond memories of mine (without the Milano Red). I'm curious why you use the Biltmore 24 building location...
I live nearby and it’s a nice background, without a lot of parking lot clutter or car / pedestrian traffic
