    Hi Stuart, Thank you for the time & effort you put into making these videos. You live & work in one of the most beautiful places in the UK & even with the ever changing weather of the lakes, you still produce the goods mate. Your images are inspiring & I can't wait until my next visit to the lakes to capture some of the beauty that you have on your door step. Keep up the good work mate

    From Lofoten back to Wasdale, two areas like chalk and cheese, and yet you still make such good use of the conditions presented to you - love the waterfall photos Stuart. Really appreciate the time and effort you put in to producing your vlogs too, I’m really surprised you’re not way higher in the number of subs.

    • @StuartMcGlennon
      @StuartMcGlennon  Рік тому +1

      Thanks Martin, yeah quite the contrast! I’ve not been on UA-cam that long to be honest so subs is quite a slow build. Plus the platform is radically different to what it was 4-5 years ago when it was much easier for people to build an audience.

    I loved both photos you got in this video and thanks for taking the time to make the videos too. I am sure they are a pain to make and you would rather just be taking incredible photos. Also what I love about you is you are real and tell things how you see them. Well done Stuart. 👏

    Thanks for making these videos Stuart, much appreciated. I loved all the images but boy, that brief shot of the lone tree in the lake looked superb! I really hope we get to see that again. Best regards - Robin

    A well moody lakeland shot Stuart, you need stock, the season starts next weekend, and a free Cadbury creme egg with every print you sell.

  • @LeePelling
    @LeePelling Рік тому +1

    Glad you stuck it out mate in those conditions, the video was great as were the images, classic lakeland views. The additional drone footage really looks good to mate, more kit to carry ! but i think worth it.

    I think I prefer the landscape image; less contrast with the blue pool. That said, both look pretty good. I have never got on with Wasdale, no idea why! Must try again.

      Cheers Simon it’s actually the side of Great End in the background (Gable is off to my left) the jacket I’ve had while just rarely gets an outing as I’ve not shot many videos in rain for a good while.

    Hello Stuart, I prefer the first shot because of the beautiful colour of the water. As you said, it is contrasting nicely with the warm colours of the mountainrange. The second one isn’t bad neither. Thank you very much!

  • @Quaker521
    @Quaker521 Рік тому +1

    Ah, the joys of Lakeland weather! Great couple of images Stuart but I think the second is the winner for me with great light, colour and just the right amount of motion in the water. And to echo other commentators - thanks for all the effort in putting these videos out, they are much appreciated. Cheers.

    I think you enjoyed yourself on the quiet really, Stuart. Never regret going swimming. It looks a fascinating region of the Lakes which we've yet to explore. I think I prefer the first image but then who am I to judge! Efforts much appreciated as always 😊

    I really envy you having this wealth of known locations you can head to when you see that the prevailing conditions at the time are going to be close to ideal for shooting at a particular one. I think that is one of the greatest challenges for any landscape photographer, developing that ability to match a particular set of weather conditions to a specific location. I think I know more about what conditions are not favourable for many of the locations I know, as I had a habit of turning up to any given location to recce it in possibly the worst conditions imaginable for it. The problem then is finding a location's potential, as it's not easy to see it when the conditions are the polar opposite of it's ideal shooting conditions. Also choosing the right time of year to go to it too is a big help. Do you keep a notebook where you jot down all this information for future reference?
    Anyway, some lovely images of the waterfalls. Another type of location I have a shortage of in my locality in Lincolnshire. The closest I can get is a couple of weirs, though they tend to have rubbish lodged within them that rather spoils the scene.
    Looking forward to your next vlog!

    • @StuartMcGlennon
      @StuartMcGlennon  Рік тому +1

      Thanks Ian, if it’s something really specific like a grid reference of a spot amongst a particularly remote area with no obvious markers to go off then yes I’ll note them down in the phone and on google maps, though that’s not that often.

    • @ianpinion4997
      @ianpinion4997 Рік тому

      @@StuartMcGlennon, so you just commit it to memory including what the best conditions to shoot it under are? You must have a very good memory to not get all that information muddled up. I prefer #What3Words to Google Maps, though I use both.

      @@StuartMcGlennon the canon has excellent weather sealing but I still don’t want it out in the rain ! I always have dog poo bags with me which go over both cameras perfectly till the rain goes over !

    Hi Stuart, thanks for all your efforts they really are appreciated, and to other viewers, the 2nd video from Norway is definitely worth a watch. Thanks for sharing your skills, and the magical change of coat colour from blue to red was a clever trick! ... guess the blue one got a bit overwhelmed with the wet conditions. Super photos by the way!

    Hi Stuart, it's really interesting to see how you manage to pull out a great shot with difficult conditions. I was up in Wasdale a couple of weeks ago with the family so no time for careful photography, but I love the landscape round there. I'm booked onto your November workshop so really looking forward to learning first hand how to get some of those wonderful images.
