Thanks for showing us your impressive bottom. 🤣
"If you were in a hurry to go to the bathroom and didn't make this mess in the video."
I am about to buy it now!!!! I loved the 5g tank!
I honestly kept cherry shrimp successfully for several years in a nano tank the size of that small one. It unfortunately all ended one day when something in our house caused both it and my 10 gallon to suddenly spike nitrate levels, killing both my shrimp in the nano tank and my betta in the 10 gallon in the same afternoon. Both were planted tanks. Still no clue what happened to hit both tanks at once.
The light can be set up in the app 👍
Fish Tank Review but Chris actually reviews fish tanks (The tank, not what’s in it)
Literally came here for this comment this is literally fish tank reviews haha
Literal Fish Tank Review Episode 1
ACTUAL fish tank review 2024
I made this joke a few weeks ago lmao
@@FishForThought yes
10:43 I appreciate Chris letting us get a sniff of the ohko stone here
It's a must
12:44 Out of the dozens of tanks I've had over the years, my original 10 gallon with an undergravel filter has been my most reliable and stable tank I've ever had. All of my other types of filters have given me so much grief. Sometimes new and fancy doesn't always mean better. Give the undergravel filter a try!
My first tanks were with undergravel filters! I don't recommend it to the mass of beginner fishkeepers but they're definitely not a horrible option to anyone who knows what they chose
As someone who is currently using an undergravel filter, I will tell you that if you only clean it around once a year it is the best biological filter. The only time I will use a sponge or a sump filter over it is in sand tanks.
i am no biologist and i actually have never owned an undergravel filter.... but just from my understanding... if you use some substrate with a large surface area like lava rock it should be amazing.... Sand, Lavarock, Gravel etc etc should all make really good filter media but since there's no water flowing through it it does nothing... but with an undergravel filter the problem of water flow is solved... but what do i know? Maybe big filter is just trying to sell us the hangon filter because they're insanely cheap to produce
@@LoFiAxolotl You are surprisingly spot on the fact that all filter media needs flow in order to house beneficial bacteria. Another benefit specific to planted tanks is the fact that it aerates the roots in the plants so that they don't suffocate, which I heard happens to all plants.
@@HenryZ20 It also means that the nutrients in the water column are way more available to the roots of plants.
I adored my undergravel filter with a power head. It was quiet, and so easy to care for.
Those square base tanks would make amazing terrariums. Cool products.
Have to disagree, IMO under gravel filters are the best if you don't want to be messing around cleaning out canister, internal or sponge filters, worrying about cycle crashes, worrying about your BB dying during power outages, don't want to spend a fortune on power bills powering a bunch of canisters, HOB or internal filters, don't want to worry about impellers wearing out, shafts breaking or seals not working causing leaks etc.
They are super under rated provided you don't try to blast air or high flow through them- I've found plants grow better since switching to UGF as there is a slow draw of warm water moving past their roots all the time.
Personally, I think UGF mostly went out of favour as 1. people started to blast too much flow through them & 2. they are too good at mechanical & biological filtration to the point companies can't sell extra consumables i.e parts, cartridges, chemicals etc. to those using them.
I have UGFs on a bunch of different sized tanks from 20L to 220L, all planted, range of ages with the oldest now at 4 or 5 years, the newest a few weeks, all super healthy environments that get more bullet proof with each passing year.
(3:45) Solution: show up to every feeding time to watch them. If you have kids, that would be even easier
A wednesday upload after ages? Amazing
I've been uploading more regularly on wednesdays recently!
I took a break from this channel, glad to see Uncle is still doing well.
This is a new one! Was not expecting this today. Woot woot so excited
yay thanks hope you enjoy!
I dare you to try setting up a planted tank using an undergravel filter. You'll be amazed at the water clarity. And a plus is you'll never loose a shrimp from being sucked into a filter pump with those!
Autofeeders on top of a fishtank lid is not so uncommon in Europe. Juwel Rio model fish tanks come with a lid that has an opening in the front where you can take off the cover and place a Juwel autofeeder which fits perfectly in this opening. I place an auto feeder when I´m away for more than a few days.
Wait... That's why we have it? I thought it was for easy acces to feed your fish... 0.0
totally didn't know that!!
@@FishForThought Germans like to make things easy while it's also very well built.
Ok, I can get behind the auto feeder. I really want to set up a tank, but I struggle with chronic pain and pretty debilitating migraines. My last migraine lasted sux days, and in that time my partner had to care for not just our cats but my plants. I would feel bad adding more work for him - so a slim auto feeder like this? Kind of ideal.
I feel ya with the migraines!
automation for the win! I have automated my chickens so that when I'm sick my husband doesn't have to spend all his time looking after my girls.
I was going to fix the “six days” typo, but let’s be honest: sux days is equally as descriptive. 😂
@@readingroomcafeproject I don’t typically like those “auto watering” pots for my plants, but I think I have to, just for my husband’s sake. And mine - I feel so awful if plants die because I couldn’t get out of bed (or off the bathroom floor) long enough to water them.
The first "Wonder factory" tank is marketed as "Xiaomi Fish tank" in APAC 🤣. probably just another white label product
see I was a little concerned about that, perhaps same manufacturing company
The undergravel filter is old school but it works great I have 3 aquariums with them. A 55 gallon, 10 gallon, & a 2.5 gallon & they work great. These wonder aquarium looks amazing. I would like to get one.
Wow two FTRs in one week? I love the weeks when there are Wednesday videos.
hey thanks so much pls enjoy!
0:43 are you going to drink from the fancy straw?
tempted
When the homies have a lowered cars but I have a raised tank 😎
haha yeah exactly!
@@FishForThought I've started adding an outer interest to the edges of my tank to bring the botanicals and model coral outside the tank to make a more immersive environment.
When it's finished I'll post a video for you!
Love your work
Awesome review! I liked the bigger cube style, more my size. But very beautiful tanks.
thanks! I do too
Perfect review, Chris! Surely that light on the large one has a timer! Not gonna lie, I'm loving that one. Let us know!
That 1st tank looks pretty awesome the light amd filter running together is abit of a meh but all the other stuff is pretty dang cool and i like the black look with it
Honestly I’m loving the Pusheen plush in the background with the Pokémon 😂
I love that lil guy too
I feel like companies are big time responsible for half (if not more) of the fish abuse. The two bigger tanks are nice but why put such misguided stocking advice on them?! Whoever reads it and takes it seriously is doomed to kill some fish. The bigger one is a lovely beta or endler guppy tank, the medium size one - a nice shrimp tank.
my thoughts exactly!
Glad I live in the universe where the uncle Roger of fish keeping exists 🎉🐟🌊
Those tanks look amazing and I would definitely buy them. The under gravel filter isn't really my style so I would get another filter for that tank.
thats one fish tank and two vases ... should be made very clear
hahaha
the middle one look as if it was ripped straight out of a sci-fi movie
kinda cool!
Oh my goodness the largest tank is just gorgeous. I am too worried so as well about the light.
Maybe we can unplug the light? That might work.
SiliCONE, not siliCON. "Cone" is the caulk you were talking about, "con" is the chemical element, with the symbol Si and atomic number of 14.
don't get me wrong but two were way too small, idk but those would be on your "fish abuser tanks" happy your mentioned to only put plants in it. even they are adverteiced as fish tanks
Omg Chris is reviewing tanks! On Fish TANK Review!!!! On a Wednesday too 😂 Great video lmao. Might buy one~
hahaha yes actual fish tanks being reviewed!
omg I am about to buy that 5g. I might have to make some mods for shrimps but I love it.
the tiny one could be a good photo tank
if you'd try to set 1st tank, you'd find out that you can't fill it to the top, there is a max level margin, so it always had that air layer visible between top cover and water, which is not great visually
also, idk how it is now, but there was no working (properly) app to control that smart tank, it was still in development, but you can use xiaomi app, but you have to set it as in china location, also it's not translated to english
I really don’t get why people set up their lights and filters to be synched together like that
It's a "cool" feature but they often overlook how important it is to separate it. It is mostly lack of their own experience in keeping planted tanks.
@@FishForThought Not just planted but tanks in general
Can’t leave the lights on 24/7, can’t turn the filter off every night
@@FishForThought most people don’t realize this- but much like us, fish only need oxygen while awake. Respiration doesn’t have to occur at night since metabolism slows when the body is at rest.
Unless you are keeping a nocturnal fish species, this tank’s synced system would actually be perfect. :)
I'm pretty sure the first tank has a phone app that you have to use to set the light timer.
the revolving fishtank + kids = oh no
Your comment reminds me of a conversation I had with my then husband years ago.
I was a homeschooling mom and also had a 2 year old. I mentioned to my then husband that an ant farm would be a great teaching tool. His reply was, "You want to get an ant farm with a 2 year old in the house?????"
Not my smartest suggestion
I do appreciate a good lazy susan on a fish tank, but they're really more suited to tanks with radial symmetry so you can, you know, rotate them. This is why i miss hex tanks.
It's amazing for maintaining small scapes! Sometimes it's a hustle to trim your plants and moss, especially when there is a lot of hardscape 👍
I do not miss my hex tank at all.
Pain in the arse to clean, awkward to scape and finding lighting that is strong enough for plants but small enough to fit on the top without being just a spotlight was irritating as hell. Not to mention they really aren't well suited to most fish's swimming habits.
Can't say I miss hex! I feel they make the whole viewing experience harder and less fun :(((
I was refering to lazy susan... but I agree to your opinions regarding hex tanks!
I have never watched fft in the morning,I am now and it’s the best.
glad to hear it!
Pretty sure theres an app to set the light cycle. Also, its basically a xiaomi tank. Probably OEM and rebranded.
And for that Fish tank., we will need Call Ember tetras. Flamingo Honey Grammy.🎉
lmao!
you're welcome from the reef-keeping community.
Auto feeder??? NOOOOOOOO!!! I'd say half the joy of fish keeping is getting to interact with my little buddies. I love hand feeding and pipette feeding... My goldfish are so tame they let me pet them. This never would have been possible with an auto feeder...
I also say no! Hand feeding and watching them eat was how I realized I wasn’t crushing up food enough for my smallest chili rasbora 😭
This tank has an app and if u set the app to China location it will connect and you can set feeding and lighting schedules
You had me at ‘comprehensive bottom’ 😂😂😂
i think the first tank is supposed to have a mobile app you can use to change the light/pump/feeder settings
Imagine the little kid spinning it round and round watching his goldfish on the breaking death thinking of having fun
Yes..the second and third one should be a shrimp tank only as its too small
Hey Chris,
I'm surprised you didn't just recommend getting a plug timer
I had a simple timer that just ran the lights for 10 hours around the time I would have been home from work.
I always recommend a timer for all lights! But you can't put a your light on a timer if the filter is run in the same wiring because the filter needs to be on 24/7
Those last two tanks make me wonder what fish do when they get dizzy. Can fish get dizzy?
Also, I’ve been using UGF for four decades. Sometimes something is “old” because it works. 😊
boosting that algorithm
tyty!
Its so unfair you are not being sponsored. Great review!
Finally a real fish tank review.
lmao!
I like the first aquarium its cool
Welcome to the future
I really like the futuristic fish tank for SLIVKI SHOW
yeah! This is rly mimicking that tank I feel like
I use an auto feeder when I’m away. Can see why it would be useful with the first tank.
crazy thought but what about... a fourth?
heyy chris! keep up the good work, you are the reason i have fish tanks. love ya❤
Forgot this wasn’t the FTR channel
Honestly the last one I would probably use for selling fish at an expo
Been wanting to get the 5g from TikTok but want to wait till it drop to 150 or with coupon. Also yes the tank has build in timer
you can try terrarium or paludarium for both revolving tank..i think it would be neat
yeah I think that would be great!
@@FishForThought i cant imagine nano fishes and shrimp spinning like a beyblade 🤣🤣🤣
Fish people,I have an old 3.5 gallon tank and I am thinking,is there anything good to put in it like any good fish species or something else.just wondering.
Shrimp. Small tank? The answer is always shrimp.
@@nickhardwick8298 will consider
$200 for a 5gallon set up is wild.
A literal fish tank review.
If this is what I think it is, it might be a re-branded version of a Xiao mi tank.
In the area I live it is advertised that this can be linked to a Xiaomi App for lighting time and flow control.
They probably took away this function cuz the app is from China.
I bought the 5 gallon Wonderfactory tank and was quickly disappointed. You recommend the tank but didn't plug it in! It flashes a wifi icon obviously meant to connect to wifi and use an app to control the tank, as the original Chinese version sold by Xiaomi does. The wifi is non-existent and "Wonderfactory" told me that they are working on the app. If you believe an English language app and functional wifi will be available anytime soon i have a bridge to sell you.
I sent the tank back after my own let down and reading reviews of fish getting sucked up in the filtration system. When you spend your own cash on an expensive 5 gallon tank that clearly is intended to connect to wifi but doesn't for the American market you may not so resdily recommend an item you actually didn't use or even plug in but only unboxed a gift given to you at no cost.
I can not recommend the 5 gallon Wonderfactory tank as it is now. It needs multiple improvements. Its as if they took the Chinese version that actually works with internet and app, doubled the price for Americans and fished to see what suckers Americans are. You can find this exact same tank on the AliExpress app for more than half the price. But you'll need to know Mandrian.😅😅
Good review like it .Chris you can set lite wood aap esey.i don't like dos two roert ones
Verry Nice
Just because the tank has an autofeeder doesn't mean you have to use it
I have a feeling that the light is set to 6h/8h/10h by default.
Get a PO box and your fans will help with scaping supplies.
It's so expensive here and they're super small, like 50 bucks for a small box ew
The second tank the holes in the back shrimp and other small things will always get into the filter. I have taken the back out of one before to save my shrimp. Thank goodness I had not turn filter on and was using a sponge one for them. They would have been chopped up for sure. Edit, hmm under water.. I wonder if that would keep shrimp safer? Are their still small holes in the back?
You need to normalize the budge. Ahahaha.
Your fish barfing from all the spinning is really going to require a bit more maintenance..
That is at least 2 psyducks
The Lazy Susan fish tanks. Nice.
As fun as those turntables are, they make me very nervous. I can see how they'd be useful during scaping but otherwise, what is the point other than bothering your fish?
True! But maybe because those tanks are so small, there shouldn't be anything but plants. Maybe a mini paludarium showcase, then turning it might be cool for your friends or IG
I thought I was tweaking but the audio sounds double, I made sure to listen on different devices and it sounds the same
A ugf is actually really good
Check this out, don't gravel vac your ugf, plant stem plants and hair grass into the gravel
Auto feeders would be cool if they had a remote and were used just to drop in a small treat.
true!
Hi and nice tank
oh my gooooood
The mic makes you sound like an AI though.
W video
soo apparently, there is an APP that's not available in the US yet to control the light timer
idk why my comment got sniped by whatever forces be, but I have some really really good advice for your audio/video setup!
Please do scape the nano tank, would like to see it as a shrimp
i didn't notice at first. but then i did. the music.. iykuk.
What is that second tank really even meant for? Looks like its really only for like shrimp or snails. Maybe the smallest of nanofish or fry
Perhaps just for a scape? No live stock? I mean could look good tbh.
@JensenOSRS super true.
true.
I miss when he was a sussy person who loved sarcasm
i'm still that man, sometimes it doesn't come out because I'm not acting I'm just being my present self xD
Everything good? Normally your happier, and your house just burned down so idk. I might just be tripping but just seems a bit off
Chris, u need sleep mate! Hehe
here im using a soda-lime glass tank
Maybe ive been spoiled but those thanks look like junk and this all felt like a paid promotion.
I know right? Bit of a weird video.
It sounds like you have slight audio phasing, does your new microphone record 2 channels of audio?
Yes, I gotta get that figured out haha
@@FishForThought lmk if you need any help!
Chris!? BEFORE MONDAY!?
Sometimes I do wednesday uploads :)
@@FishForThought WAAAHHH!??? It was a surprise alright, but a welcomed one fs.
middle tank is too small for a fish to LIVE its life
Looks to be a snail/shrimp tank then
did you even watch the video?!
