I've been obsessed with your cover of "Odd Even" forever (It just sounds so right on piano), and I was wondering if there's sheet music of it somewhere? I'd love to learn most of it and inevitably stumble through that guitar solo!
Great. No one can capture the same energy of this band. That isn't to say this is the best band or that there aren't others with their own weird gimmicks and stuff. This one just intrigued unlike any band had in a while. Tim's weird prog circus music was good, but it's also really cool to hear his composing evolve in the way it did with Sing to God. Their use of chords and lyrics are still just as weird and Sing to God has the least similar sound to any of their other albums, but it still has that Cardiacs feel. Maybe it's my autism brain or maybe I'm just weird, but Cardiacs hit that part of my brain that I hadn't felt with any other band before. And I hope they keep inspiring other bands and musicians. Not just because they were weird, but because of their experimentation. I've been thinking of how I would ever try to play one of their songs on piano because it feels like when I take away parts of the song to make it work with piano, it doesn't feel whole anymore. But this one ended up having the same feel. I might just have to try to transcribe this and play it for myself. Thank you very much. I hope Tim saw this and appreciated the things like this that his fans made. Have a Merry birthmas.
Cheers Luke. I think the key is not to try and replicate what Tim et al wrote, as pop music, even of this ilk still comes in as verse chorus verse chorus which kind of limits what you can do. Luckily Tim did hear all the ones I did and countless other peoples arrangements. The piano reduction of Whole World Window was released on an album and Jim requested that it should be played as the last piece of music at Tims funeral...
Me: is he going to play that solo that sounds like it's always on the verge of disintegrating but somehow just rides the chaos to a strange and oddly satisfying conclusion? You: oh, most definitely.
My favourite cardiacs song AND you play it by piano... amazing
No, I will not fast forward it to the guitar solo. I liked all of it. Well done!
Its very good still
God bless you, Tim Smith! Genius! Wonderful!
Brilliant
Very lovely. Thank you very much.
Awesome!
I don’t even know how you made this. So right. So beautiful.

You might try this. Can't vouch for it, cause I haven't tried it. dfan.org/blog/content/Odd%20Even.pdf
@@HikerSophie It's just the melody oof
wow, what an amazing job! I really love this song, you did it justice
Brilliant.
Great work pal, one of my favourite Cardiacs songs, shame the UA-cam Money Pirates stole the original version of it.
At least you can now buy all their back catalogue now :-)
Love this version, and you respected that seventh ;)
what a lovely way to start my day - thank you
Bravo!
Is there a score for this I can get my hands on?

We can't just drive away in a nice car. But we can listen to this.
