Yup, 2005 model year with the VIN for the win: 1G1 for US made Chevrolet, YY24 for Corvette coupe, U for 6.0L V8 with MFI, 0 is a check digit, 5 for the 2005 model year, 5 for Bowling Green, KY assembly and the rest is the production sequence. The Bowling Green KY plant has assembled Corvettes since June 1, 1981 and still does so today. It was a Chrysler Airtemp plant prior to being an assembly plant. Exterior paint is code 71 Daytona Sunset Orange.
i would buy this car if it had no t top/glass top and the swap it the right hand drive in Australia is $50,000 for the job. its a beautifull car,, who needs a european nightmare of junk and maintanance,, beautifull car,,
It's going to be interesting to see what happens to the EPA 's arbitrary fuel mileage standards now that we are allowed to challenge regulations that aren't law. Our automotive industry has been directed by standards not by the wants of the customers for years.
I have a C6 - 2006 base coupe, 6spd. It has been super reliable. The only issue relates to the stupid design of the radiator support bracket! JUNK! But the car has been basically trouble free. Corvette performance, Civic reliability. The biggest improvement from 2005 to 2006 was the addition of the 6spd automatic. The old 4sp OD - the 4L60E was replaced - finally - with the 6spd automatic. Much better, but I prefer the manual.
Steve, so glad to see you back and doing well. I always look forward to your insight on autos, see you on the next one.
This man is a human encyclopedia. Protect him at all cost.

I own a 2013 60th Anniversary Grand Sport Coupe and love everything about it. I owned a 2005 Lemans Blue C6 base previously.

In 2005, it was just a 4 speed automatic, in 06 they came out with the 6 speed (double overdrive gears)

I see a Ferrari Dino in the background!
🖖🤗
Those fixed headlights are stupid expensive. I liked the gizmo of the hideaways on the previous cars.
At 6ft7, not a candidate for me unfortunately
How about a 4 door electric mustang?

I must have a C7 fake in my garage
actually 7th generation new corvette is 9th.
Nope C8 : 2020-present.
Automatic?...hell naw!!!..great car tho
Using the word excellent to describe parts of this car is like calling general motors a luxury car company.
C8 is ghastly. Looks like something designed 20 years ago. A kids idea of a Ferrari. Much like the ridiculous Camaro.
C8 is great.
It’s a two time bankrupt government motors piece of Chevy that will leave you stranded on the side of the road! Walk away from government motors junk
