    Back in the day we had to walk a mile through 3 feet of snow to sharpen our tungsten.

      I wish I had it that easy ............................. had to walk a mile through 36.8 inches of snow AND it was uphill BOTH ways.

      Let's not forget, the tungsten sharpener was 1200 grit sandpaper, you had to sign for a postal stamp sized piece. Only the bosses sons got wet and dry, the rest of us get that timber stuff

    • @mikeznel6048

      That's nothing. I had to go up hill both ways, across a swelling river, in 8 feet of snow, through a crowd of leftist dems, pitch black and against hurricane force winds both ways. All to find out I forgot my tungsten. Upon making the trip a second time to learn the breaker was turned off for the grinder.

    As a confessed tip dipper I always sharpen a batch of 4 tungsten's ready to go. I usually figure it out by the second or third dip..

    Even the best welders duff the tungsten time to time. Anyone who says they don't is a bold-faced liar.

      Just like driving stick, if you don't ever grind em, you ain't driving. With everything in life. If you don't make mistakes here and there doing something, you're not doing anything and infact are the mistake yourself.

    Lmfao, we kept the angle grinders locked up in a cupboard, that way we knew if one of our welders fcked something up 😂 not only do they have to do the walk of shame with a grinder in hand , but the whole area jeered them when the grind sparks started too😂

      80% of the time prepping the joint, 1% sharpening and 19% of the time welding.
      In an Ideal world that is, when the Tungsten is dipped, the percentages easily add up to 300 % 😂

    • @jrcicirello
      @jrcicirello 3 роки тому +1

      You could get a lot of sharpened tungsten so you can do a quick change, or are you just looking for an excuse to walk around? Just Joking.
      I know it seemed like I was always sharpening tungsten, but now, after 3 yrs of practicing, I might have to sharpen tungsten every now and then. Practice, practice, and practice some more. I bought Aaron’s training and after 3 days and maybe 300 or 400 beads later, I was laying down like I had been welding aluminum or years. Seriously made all the difference for me. And no, Aaron didn’t pay me to write this.

    I tried welding with a camera between my legs once and it was truely awful, so I'd blame that for the little accident, it's just an awkward location for a camera, especially for someone with the kind of balls to show off their welds on the internet.
