Zach, when you see a news report of tornado damage, although your heart still goes out to the people involved, you feel a certain detachment. Watching this video made me feel like a catastrophe happened to a family member, even though we've never met. I know it must've been difficult to film all of the devastation when all you probably wanted to do is wish it all away. Part of that is sharing the heartbreak along with the joy. Thank you and God bless you.
Zach I'm so very sorry. What a gut punch! The 2x4 in the tractor cab is what really gets me. I remember being the first one to pickup when dad wanted to go "assess damage." As a farm wife, I want to say thank you for giving your wife not one "but" or "just a second." Thank you for respecting her heart like that. I hope all this hurry, hurry, wait still comes out as a decent crop this harvest.

I’ll tell ya, when Zach first went out to the cold storage shed and seeing his reaction, my heart absolutely sunk. I’m sorry for the losses Zach (and everyone effected) that’s tough stuff to see😔
As soon as I saw metal in the trees I knew it wasn't going to be good. I've spent a lot of time around tornados but I'm thankful that Zach and his family are safe. Equipment can be replaced, buildings can be rebuilt.
@@JoshJackson13 yeah but how soon can they get crop in the ground, Zach likely won't be making money on crop this year even without the cost of fixing bins and sheds due to how short the season is likely going to be. Some farmers in the area possibly won't even be planting this year
"Your golf clubs tipped over." It is amazing to see people's reactions to crazy situations. Hope you guys are getting the pieces picked up around there!
You are not whining! And you were, you are 100% entitled to. This devastation will only be a memory. You will rebuild better and stronger because you and your family are Strong 💪
Tough times for the Millennial Farmer. You pay a fortune for insurance, but this is why. You’ll come out better and stronger. So glad you and the family did not get hurt. Thanks for taking the time to record your initial reactions.
My heart goes out to you and your family Zach. We went through a derecho on May 8, 2009. Winds up to 106 mph. We spent six days without power and to this day this event is referred to as "The May 8th Storm" here in Southern Illinois. Something I never want to experience again. You and your family will remain in my prayers.
Your reaction to seeing the shed gone was so eye opening. The panic in your voice and the fear on your face was something unlike anything I've ever seen before. I am so sorry about your damages. I hope you all are able to recover with too many headaches.
Yup. You don’t want to see your stuff destroyed. This looks just like the mangled steel warehouse near me after the tornado. But probably less damage. That’s a lot of money gone when a storm rolls through and breaks junk. All that hard work just for the sky to give you a big middle finger.
It's absolutely heartbreaking when Zack rounds the trees and sees almost his whole operation destroyed. I was tearing up seeing it pal. God Bless you and the family.
Hey Zack, we had a tornado roll through our farm in 13' in Ontario. Tractors were destroyed but just remember equipment can be replaced but family can't be. Glad you are all safe

Zack sorry for everyone’s loss. Family safe, that’s the most important thing. Oh don’t say you need something to do anymore!!!!! Just go fishing instead!!!!!! Your plate is full now!!
Zack and Becky this video puts a pit in my belly. I’m watching you assess the damage and I’m thinking how is he not breaking down? Then I saw your dad and his positive attitude like yours and thought that’s how. You are amazing. By far the best line was, “Your golf clubs tipped over.” Best of luck to your family on the rebuilding!
I been watching you for a long time and if anyone can turn this around you can. You and your dad are hard workers and will be ok. I would come over to help you if I didn’t live in California.
Farming is brutal. My family was one harvest away from not needing to borrow operating money in 1983. A late summer hail storm (golf ball sized hail, which was amazing as a kid) destroyed all the crops. We had insurance, but it put us behind. My grandpa and dad called it quits a few years later because of many compounding issues, but those 15 minutes of hail put us in a place where we just couldn't recover. Hopefully you can be more resilient than we were able to be.
I can tell a fellow Minnesotan, we go out in the middle of storm and swaying tall trees just to see how things look. Stay safe, we are rooting for you and family.
7:00 oh poor kiddos. I've been yelled at by my kids in EXACTLY the same way during our 100mph wind storm this past winter:) Praying you guys all stay safe and that the weather improves soon! So sorry about all the damage:/

Nothing but respect and heartbreak for you and all involved. I'm a former farm kid and can remember things like this happening and hopefully recovery is quick. prayers for you and your family.
Honestly when I watched MF go around the race shed and see the building I felt like I was there. That empty feeling in your stomach that you just think "that's it, it's over. I lost everything." Then you go and pick up the pieces and learn that it's not as bad as it could have been. I bet this day and the couple days after were just a rollercoaster of emotions.
Yep they will fix what they can fix replace what they have to replace. Hopefully pocket some of that Insurance money!! Seems both you and the Larsons took a beating in that storm. The big Sweede is gonna have quite a draft in his sprayer tractor.
The most important thing to be thankful for is that everyone (Becky, you, the kids, dogs, and hopefully all the cats) are safe. I'm sorry you are getting setback after setback, but insurance will help ease the pain with lost items. I grew up in tornado alley (midwest) so I understand the damage it causes. Again, really happy everyone is okay :)

I’m amazed how you and your dad keep your spirits up that is some crazy damage thank goodness for insurance!! It’s good to see yourself and your family all safe. Keep it between the rows….when it finally dries out.
Zach, so sorry about your losses in the storm. Farming can be cruel as you know, from the terrible drought last summer to this excess moisture now. I appreciate your grace and humor on the video. A good example of just taking it as it comes and moving on.
Glad to see everyone's safe. I hope you can replace equipment that was lost quickly, but we all know how insurance works, or doesn't work. Prayers to have a better rest of the year.
I appreciate you taking the time to put this video together. The amount of composure you had is tremendous. I'm glad to see everyone is safe, the ground will always dry up, and equipment can always be replaced. Best wishes and I hope you can get the show on the road very soon.

WOOOOW!! When you walked around the shed, I had tears in my eyes man. I watch you guys on UA-cam, but didn't realize how much that we feel part of the family. So sorry for your loss. I'm sure insurance will take care of it, but it's a tremendous loss and will take years to recover. Glad everyone is okay.
That simply has to be the nicest Family in America. Everyone remained not only calm but maintained a cheerful attitude. Hoping the Family gets their Operation up and going soon. I am so grateful for our Farmers who work so hard to keep our Tables full. Thank you!
Zach, we are so glad you and your family are safe. Damage can mostly be repaired and improvements made in the process. You and your family inspire everyone by staying positive in adversity. Strongs with the mop up and rebuild. Sending you good vibes from South Africa.
I'm so sorry this had to happen, I know this is going to be a huge impact on your lively hood. I definitely wish you and the whole family the best of luck and you have my prayers 🙏.
Glad everyone is safe and hope the repairs go quickly so you can get planting. If you were looking for an excuse to restore the MM, this might be it... (Similarly, glad you moved the Scottsdale when you did.)
one of the best parts of rural America is having everyone come out and assess damage...not only to their own farms and equipment but to others as well. not to show what happened but to start making plans to band together and work together as farmers to rebuild every barn every shed every piece of equipment together. my prayers and thoughts are with your family Zach as are with all the families affected by the storms.
Man, what a loss! I am farming too and everything is replaceable but that stress level in situations like that is unreal.....thinking through all problems and how to get everything running again in time for the crop year. I wish you truthly the best.

Absolutely heartbreaking stuff! When you went live afterwards and gave all the profits to your charity speaks volumes of what a first class family farm you have! Your right insurance will cover the losses and glad your family and you are ok! Your farm will recover and it will take time but when it’s all said and done your farm will all be better and stronger than it was before the storm!
There's a farmer around where I live in SD, he was in his pretty newly built shop. Concrete walls. As he was in there, that same storm came through and blew off the roof and slid his quadtrac with him underneath hanging on for dear life.
Its been terrible. Just up to a week ago there were places that still had snow in the northern part of the state. Now we have so much water in the ground its not even soaking in. Its going to be a very late planting season for us. Luckily I missed out on the really bad storms last week so no damage but everything is so wet we still cant do anything. We will be cutting hay before we are done planting.

Second. Glad your family is safe. That goes for BoomerFarmer and Jim as well.
Again, really happy everyone is okay :)
so happy nobody got hurt. i teared up when Becky told you to get inside before we lose you too. my goodness that hit hard. so very happy nobody got hurt. thats incredible
I've seen this for several days on your posts but this is the first time you put up the video, it brought tears to my eyes watching it. Just glad you guys are okay.
Even in times of pure chaos, the sense of humour never fades! Hope you guys can get something going for this year!
That wind did crazy damage!
Love the resilience of kids, Onyx won the day by saying:
" I know what's wrong wit it, it ain't got no gas in it"
I’m amazed how you and your dad keep your spirits up that is some crazy damage thank goodness for insurance!!
So very Sad to see.... I am not a farmer but I grew up and worked on my Dads farm til 1965 when I joined the Air Force.
My heart goes out to you and your family and I am SO glad you are all safe!! I've been watching you for several years and it's almost like you are part of the family now....
I wish you and your neighbors and friends all the best. May you continue to persevere....
Russ
So sorry for all the damage, extremely glad everyone is ok. Love what you all do every day. Stay strong all the best.
Hi zack, I'm thinking of you all. thankfullly no one got hurt as that's the important thing, you guys will bounce back from this for now let's try to get some seed in the ground :)
Sorry for your loss! I know what you are feeling. Prayers for all involved in the tornado. God Bless all
Wow, Truly amazing, when the weather wants to kick butt, Glad everyone is alright. Prayers for all the farmers to have a safe, productive season. Thank you for sharing.
God bless you and your family and glad everyone is safe! Y’all are in our thoughts and prayers.
Aw Jack I'm speechless so upsetting....................Hope your all ok.
"Jack"? Who is Jack?
So sorry Zach this sucks I still don’t know how you didn’t break down it tears, when I heard the disappointment in your voice my heart sunk. Prayers out to you guys hoping everything is ok.😕
Hey Zack, just wanna say I’ve been watching your videos for about three years now. To see your family stay strong through a storm is a blessing. You guys are funny as f*** and I love seeing the true reactions and hilarious moments. Glad your family is safe and stay strong Insurance got you covered! 🤟🏼
We live in the uk near Scotland and in November 2021 we had 135 mph wind and caused devastation and took roofs off the houses and static caravans into the North Sea. Feel for you hope everything is ok and remember metal can be replaced lives can’t. Stay safe
What a massive kick in the nuts, glad everyone is okay. Hope things look up from here I can only imagine what you're feeling right now.
Best wishes Zache, thank God yall are all okay, must've been scary.
The destruction is immense but the soul of a farmers spirit is higher than ever.
Best Part no one Got Hurt 🙏
So sorry for all the damage! Glad everyone is ok! Such a bummer for all that where effected by that crazy storm! 😤
Man, what a loss! I am farming too and everything is replaceable but that stress level in situations like that is unreal.....thinking through all problems and how to get everything running again in time for the crop year. I wish you truthly the best.
Watching from ireland. Sad to see your loss but at 39 seconds you nention thursday may 12th a d realised that it was the day we lost our dad. Hes irish born and bred, he served in korea and was very proud of that. As we are of him. Love your channel, keep up the good work.
I'm sorry, but the "Your golf clubs tipped over" just got me.
So sorry for the loss
Wow I’m so sorry, I really hope your doing okay after this. I’m glad your okay. You did a great job of staying calm throughout the situation.
Man so glad y’all are safe. I pray y’all get everything fixed up and have a great farming season.
There's a farmer around where I live in SD, he was in his pretty newly built shop. Concrete walls. As he was in there, that same storm came through and blew off the roof and slid his quadtrac with him underneath hanging on for dear life.
You guys in MN can't seem to catch a break this season. Sending thoughts and prayers from IL. Thank goodness you are all safe.
