I prefer seeing your style of review over any of the other “ review “ by others. The way you incorporate specs and comparisons with some in the backyard shots sure beats the monotone rattling off of numbers standing at work bench. 👍👍👀
I have to agree. The reviews are what led me to my decision on a new bow.
I appreciate that!
Yeah mate easy to watch.
USA version of Archery Supplies (A bloke down here in Aus.
Yeah I agree completely
Amazing how informative your reviews are. Thanks.
Glad you like them!
Glad to see you back on UA-cam
Hope you're feeling better.
Thanks for the awesome review.
Can you do a full tune of a single cam bow. I have a Bear species and the info was so hard to find. I had to do some tiller tuning at the end. Some obscure comments on Archery talk and by Tim Gillingham. Noting on UA-cam. Please do. I used yours and Gold tips videos and they were great for tuning but single cam tunes are very rare indead. Pretty please, with sugar on top
AJA; The better Bow Reviewer!
Bear lost some rep when they went big box store back in the day, but they've been making a big comeback and putting out some solid products these days. Really excellent options for people looking at the mid-price bow market, which is becoming more popular with how expensive the high end bows are getting
I got back into archery after a long layoff and picked up a Bear Whitetail Legend RTH just after Christmas in 2022. So far been very pleased. Looking forward to early archery season in the fall!
Just bought the same exact color bear legend xr love it so far
I started wt bear archery. Wt the paradox. Then i got the bowtech revolt. Then i got the mathews V3X 29 i have all my bows. Nice review Nate
I just picked up a Bear Legit about a month ago. Couldn't be happier.
Out of all the flagship bows that came out last year that I shot - The whitetail Legend pro was impressive!!! I ordered in smoke colored roser but it never showed up in store & they tried to sell me a clunky Mathews .. . . . . Maybe this year I can get back into Bear bows. It's been RPM360& Obsessions for me since 2015
I went for the Alaskan but think I might pick one of these up as well. The adjustability would mean my grandkids could use it too. Brought the Alaskan as a backup to my flagship bows but now I shoot it the most. It really is that good. Didn't know the rubber grip would fit my Alaskan, thanks for the heads up.
Subscribed!
Hey Nate love your videos. Your videos actually helped me make a decision on my Bear Species EV. I'm looking into some single pin sights. Can you do a video comparison between a single pin vs multi pin. I mostly hunt with mine and do a few 3d ranges no competition shooting just fun. Thanks.
Great reviews as always Nate ! Which bow do prefer ? The Bear Adapt or the Bear Legend XR ? THANK YOU !!
I shot one of these last Saturday at my local shop nice bow for the money , I think the elite terrain would be a better choice . I still have my eye on the bow tech ss34 , thanks for your reviews.
Bought this bow for my wife! Your review helped a lot making the decision. Thanks Nate!
You bet!!!
I wanted to check our your archery shop since I live in a neighboring state maybe have you put on my new strings and tune my bow, but it too far a drive
Awesome review !! On these bows with the single split yoke at the top would you just put twist in or out to fix cam lean instead of shimming the cams ? I shoot an older bear single cam and like it cause it’s easy to tune. I work on my own stuff with a press.
Yup. Tune it just like a single cam with the yoke. No shimming required.
The only thing I change out for folks on this bow is a Saunders Hyper slide.
Nice
Would you choose this over the adapt?
I'm at a bow shop and just on the ropes on which to choose.
Either is great. I personally like shooting off the bare riser.
im looking at the alaskan, the adapt, or this. Thoughts?? I dont need it to grow with me. So would you recommend the alaskan?
I would, yes!
If you had to choose between this bow or the Whitetail Legend from 2021 (Non-Pro Version) which would you recommend? I'm looking at a mid priced backup bow used primarily for Oklahoma Whitetail hunting.
I'd go Legend XR all day!
Great! Thanks bud. Excellent review as always too.
Can the bow master portable bow press (with fingers) be used on this bow?
It should work, yes!
I recently bought this bow and have already taken it out on a local indoor 3D shoot. I asked my pro shop to replace the peep and was cautioned that the string it came with might not be good enough to install a peep without a tube. What’s your take on it since you have these in your shop?
I install tubeless peeps all the time in Bear bows. The key is shooting them enough first to get a good break in on the string. 50-100 shots ideally. Then any peep you want!
@@averagejackarchery Thank you! I've shot about 500+ arrows through it. I'll be installing a tubeless peep.
My wife is surprisingly showing interest in shooting a bow, the local place is suggesting the Legit or the new G3. I would love to hear your opinion of those packages.
Legit.
@@averagejackarchery thanks
It would be interesting to see the draw weight curve. It may be 70lbs but only at a short peak. Faster bows have a "heavier" draw curve, meaning you draw close to 70lbs for longer than just a short peak. I like your reviews a lot but it would be nice if you could include the draw curve in your reviews, or at least the true max draw weight. ;-)
I unfortunately have neither the time or desire to map and build out draw force curves. Draw cycles are incredibly subjective unfortunately.
I wish bear would use roller guards instead of cable slides on their mid tier lineups
Newbie question here. What are those 4 black pieces on the top and bottom of the string? Are those to quite the string?
Essentially, yes. They are speed nocks which enhance speed and quiet the string.
@@averagejackarchery okay, thanks!
I bought this bow because I’m rehabbing my shoulder. The smoothest 70 pound bow I’ve ever shot.
Hope it's better than the last "Legend" that Bear released. I had one and it was horrible. It just would not shoot any kind of a group. (Unless you're happy with arrows landing anywhere in a 6 foot circle.) I was so disappointed I sold the bow and haven't bothered to buy a new one since. Don't mean to be so negative, but I've not had great experiences with Bear compound bows. Going back to PSE I think.
Did you take it to a pro shop or contact Bear customer service? Something was obviously wrong with YOUR bow…so to knock the whole brand with one bad experience is really not fair
This vs Alaskan vs Whitetail vs Diamond Edge 320? Please help!
Alaskan or XR. Coin toss. You'll be happy.
Shame they stopped making the LST target bow.
ArcheryGB don't allow camo, kakki, olive drab colours in competition.
Most UK clubs don't allow it either
that would be good for jack rabbits
231@572 for $475. Whoa.
My Matthews halon 32 is so much quieter.
Heeheehee...you shorten the cables to lengthen the draw length (and increase draw weight), and lengthen the cables to do the opposite.
So basically nothing special
