I dont have any experience with the bansuri yet, but I will say one thing about cheap musical instruments in general. About 1 year ago I bought a cheap kalimba. It sounded pretty bad. I quickly became frustrated and gave it up. About 6 months later i had the opportunity to get a good quality kalimba free. The difference was night and day. The kalimba i have now is a joy to play and i play it every day. So lesson learned for me. Don't buy junk when it comes to musical instruments. It's better to save up a bit and buy something you will enjoy.
I agree to some extent. My first instrument was a cheap guitar (I think it was the cheapest full size guitar on the market at the time). Thats all my parents could afford at the time. That guitar didn't sound particularly great and didn't feel very confortable or anything but, it had the essentials and it got me started on the instrument. Later we were able to afford a MUCH nicer guitar but, I'm really glad I started when I did with that cheap guitar because by that time I had gotten very proficient with the guitar and had like 6 years of experience. I think you have to see how much of a difference cheap vs expensive is and decide case by case. For my guitar, its noticable, but the cheap guitar was not unplayable or horrible sounding. So then in my opinion, its good getting that. But for other instruments, I think it may be different.
When you mention a cheap flute, what price range is a cheap flute? thanks for your video, very instructive. I visited your website too where you sell bansuris, looks fantastic. Rodrigo
I love that sound! What key is it Brother? 🤔 love the bass. I'm a white man in Australia but I love wooden flutes but no idea where to start or which culture. Japanese, Native American... Or Indian/Middle Eastern? Edit: I've decided that I'm getting a bamboo flute from 4 different cultures haha! God bless Brother, peace be. Jesus loves you ❤
Especially in Asia evey culture have there bamboo flutes for example Persian Ney , Indian Bansuri,Chinese Xizi and xiao ,Japanese Shakuhachi and shinobue all sounds unique and beautiful
Thanks for the advice ! I believe I have small hands, Do you have a demo about flute A to see if I like the range of the pitches ? I like bass sounds , so I am a little sad ...

Hi there. Thank you for your video. Where can I buy a good one? Is there some special "brand"? All I find online are cheap... and what is the budget to have a good instrument to start with?
i bought a flute for 7€ on thomann i brought it to my office for a week everyone kept playing with it but no one ever managed to make a sound with it did we buy an indian decorative object for the house? Or does it take hundreds of hours of training to make even one sound?

Hello, if you are not an experienced player it would be hard for you to tell whether it is in tune, the best is to trust a good bansuri maker, check out this video ua-cam.com/video/NyuorO9APcE/v-deo.html
I am finding it so hard to blow and hit the correct tune I think mine is D bass and it was bought from india for £60 not sure if that’s a professional cost or a dodgy one
Nice tutorial! I love how your bansuris sound, very sweet and mellow to my ears. Why do different bansuris sound very different in timbre, even if they are made from the same material (bamboo)? I know some can also be made of wood, but I'm referring to bamboo ones.
Pls. sir. can you say me, i am a woman, slim fingers, not short. I have a bansuri from rishikesh , key is C, 50 cm length, For 5 days i try to make a sound but every time I lose a sound, or good sound or no sound,,,why is it? is it a good bansuri? I m not young, I try to stretch fingers, i m russian, pls, help understand. may be in fb U r? I want to send you a picture of it/
it is difficult at the beginning, just keep playing and your sounds will improve, get a teacher or a more experienced flutist to check your flute to find out if it is a good one.

Hello,
When you say you are playing a G flute, are your refering to the Hindustani key or Western key, as shown on your website catalogue?
G= Sa
I want to ask a question. If i purchased bansuri, the surface is little sticky. Is that normal or should it be smooth not sticking at all?
Jan Sedláček hello there, I think it should not be sticky, maybe ask the flute maker why!🙏🏽
Did you buy a cheap one did it say "best quality" on it
Throw it away and get another. I buyed one and it was sticky due to varnish and left a smell on my hands so it is toxic.
Could you explain, sir, why your flute has two tuning holes? Where did you buy?
hello dear, I am a Bansuri maker, two extra holes is a newer style of Bansuri, it gives one extra semitone
