My wife and I have been inspired by Delos for over 4 years. December 2016 we quit our jobs in Seattle and found a boat in California. now in the Spice islands I was able to get our SIM cards working (hardest part of Cruising) and looked back at this episode to see our friend of almost 2 weeks, Abba as your tour guide. His Hotel is beautifully complete now, his wife has showed us how to use the local ingredients in cooking aboard. Thank you for the continued inspiration. Tied up at the Same location as you were in the video I was thinking of trying to do a head stand in the grass. Kimi has also stollen the term Trevor “fact” to tell other Cruisers to fact check anything I say. Thank you for Being Pioneers for us and documenting your travels, experiences, and fun you all have. Trevor and Kimi on SV Slow Flight
Brian, I’m now convinced that modern camera, photo angles and audio quality actually doesn’t matter. Content and your voice and story telling is way beyond modern technology. Pls don’t misunderstand me, I do like your today production. However, what you produced in the past is epic. Cheers mate
What you are doing with this videos is absolutely wonderful, what a great way of offering an unknown or suppressed history lesson, while at the same time showing what true freedom really is.
Hey Michael! Thanks for the awesome comments man. Glad you're getting the vibe we're trying to send out there :) Peace and best wishes to you from the Delos Crew.
I was so excited to see your tour of Banda. We lived in Indonesia for six years, and we haven’t been back. Thank you so much, for taking us back to Ambon. We loved the Indonesian people, they are kind and generous.
Thanks for the history lesson. I think it shows you have an extra level of respect for the places you guys visit… always schooling yourself on their past. Big up!
i feel like ive landed in the past. i found one of your modern videos on delos and watched for one week straight not realizing that delos went way back to this era. so i got on the all the way through from begining to here, ill see you all when i travel through time to 2018. Mike, i tell my friends about you and say your an adults version of the series flipper that most of us grew up with. most capturing audio and video i've ever experienced
Enjoying a beer on the boat, and then taking a dive into some beautiful water - reminds me of a Norwegian sailor in Chile who built his own boat after working 10 years on a tanker - took him 5 years to build - anyway he would dive into the ice cold water in the morning to refresh - nothing better! Anyway, very interesting to get an insight into the history of the islands. Tim Severin wrote of Alfred Russell Wallace and the importance of the Spice Islands to influence his ideas (co-discoverer of natural selection) in his excellent book The Spice Islands so awesome to see these beautiful islands
Today, UA-cam surveyed me about this video of yours. I gave it 5 stars and the tags "heartwarming" "inspiring" and "enjoyable", because your videos make me feel like I'm on holiday. Maybe, someday, I will go to one of the beautiful places you visited. Cheers from Germany!
This series deserves views in the millions, great job, you really inspired me to follow my sailing dreams. Although I'll be staying on the East US coast and explore the Caribbean.
Very beautiful to watch! A great glimpse of our former colony "Nederlands-Indië", our sore past! Enjoyed your voice over narrative. You take home video making to a high level, Brian.
Found y'all during covid and love going back to your beginning. My granddaughter is now 8 and I would to teach her to sail. Fair Winds. And good luck with Delos 2.0.
Oh cool man! Our shakedown cruise was sailing the Puget Sound, San Juan's, and Gulf Islands for a year before leaving. Awesome cruising so enjoy. Honestly we don't miss the weather but the scenery and anchorages are just amazing...... Thanks for watching!
10 years ago i worked 12 hours every day 7 days a week to save enough money to go on a trip very much similar to yours. 3 friends and i was supposed to start out late April 2004 from Denmark, 20 March i fractured my back on the job.. So you guys, enjoy every second of your dreamtrip, and thank you so much for sharing your videos with the world, it is very much appriciated. You guys surely make me envy you, but it is a goodenvy as thru you i feel i explore to. The videos and the drawings are amazing :D
Hi Jan- Wow, thanks so much for the comment! We do appreciate and enjoy each and every second we are out here, and are very thankful that we are so fortunate to experience this. Thanks so much for watching.
It's a journey of adventure sailing coveted and very interesting and fun ... would like once it feels to try adventure trip like this with you ... Thanks for sharing all your adventures.
B.J. Martin not to put your comment down, but they are very awake and enjoying life to the max. Its the rest of the world that are caught in the ratrace, that are sleeping.
Quadcopter Testing True. Though I love my life and work as a photographer. I would totally love to do this. I can't though because my other business has to have mobile network at all times and I can't do wifi, so I would have to cruise around a harbor only. I may live on a boat one day.
man...you got a one of a hell awesome cool great adventure there...very happy to watch your vids. keep on cruisin and stay save mate. cant wait to see your next vids...respect to the crew. GBU Delos
Oh cool Zulham, thanks so much for watching! We are loving every minute of it and knowing that others get some joy out of the videos is just amazing. We're working on more so stay tuned :) Cheers to you!
WOW I am so so jealous of your life dude! These trips look absolutely amazing, how fortunate you are :-) this inspires me to get back into sailing the world

Only just found you guys , and I'm loving your adventures :) can't wait for more :) cheers From Mackay Queensland . PS I'm working hard to buy a boat now :)
Delos Crew, Brian an excellent narrative video. When a new video comes in I can't wait to watch it. Your adventures help build my dreams. Been watching and following from almost the beginning. Thank you for taking the time to share. Jared.
I adore your videos! I've watched them all, and look forward to more. I love sailing, but the only place I've ever gotten to do it, is on my computer. Thanks so much for sharing, I hope you write a book:)
Muchas gracias
Been watching for some time and like a few others look forward to the return of Jose and Brady. What would it take to facilitate a reunion? I think, those of us who dream of someday following in your footsteps miss that chemistry.

What time of Year did you leave Darwin Brain ? I'm interested in doing the same trip early next year starting from Melbourne doing the east coast of oz and then Cairns to Darwin and then indo and beyond ! Your vids have been a very great motivator for me thank you
Hi Walter! I actually wrote a blog about this. Take a look at svdelos.blogspot.com/2013/12/how-do-we-afford-to-sail-part-1by-brian.html and svdelos.blogspot.com/2013/12/how-do-we-afford-to-sail-part-2-by-brian.html . Thanks for watching!
by the way, i'm curious about your immigration: did you stamp your passport all the way to and from banda? i think the officials in your city must check your documents, but how about in mollucas since what i see from your video that you directly land on shore without contact immigration officials since there is no international port in banda neira? did you do that in port of ambon before heading to banda? or did you do checked somewhere in the island? if you go directly without immigration clearence that means you ar an illegal visitor?
Not that it means shit, but what kind of camera? And how you use mics? Myself, I use a Canon XA10. - - My dream is a catamaran, a Lagoon 500 or a Lagoon 620 (if I get really rich on my writings :-) )
Hey Sverre! Our primary camera is a pretty cheap Canon HFM500. We also use a GoPro for some Wide Angle shots. Underwater footage uses a Canon G15 in a FantaSea dive case. We're pretty amatuer and really can't afford much gear so just use the built in camera mic. We use Adobe Premiere and our laptops on board for the editing. I'm happy to say everything is charged\powered 100% with solar power as well. Life on a boat is good!Good luck with that massive Lagoon! Would be a hell of a cruising boat :)Cheers to you and thanks again for watching!BrianS\V Delos
OH hell yea! By far our biggest score was Great Barrier Island in New Zealand. Lobster for breakfast, lunch, and dinner :) Other places have been pretty good to us too but none like this....
It would have been sick if you could have fit a jet ski or two on the ship lol Especially if you had cheap gas prices in other countries. I hope the fuel was good.

Nothing more valuable then a great pair of hooters. Thanks Delos.

Maybe he's only missing a comma. Let's not assume.
You won't likely make it far in life.

Naah, around ep 20 quality def increased from a cinematic point of view. Pre those the episodes were mostly just slideshows xD

Well it did for sure😂. I was referring to the Indian Ocean passage, with some episodes b4 and after.
