For those who are new to working with gesso and don't know where to buy it... Gesso can be found at art supplies stores, craft shops, the art supplies area of department stores, etc. You can also get it through art supplies mail catalogs, or online. Amazon, of course, has it, too. :)

can you use gesso on top of plaster cloth after the plaster cloth dries,to give a smoother look?

can you list all the products that you just used for the leather like chair?

Nice, but I wonder if you could achieve the same effect by dry brushing and black wash.

You could do that, but probably the weave of the fabric will show through, so the surface would not be as smooth as leather.

I love all your videos and I've really learned so much. I have to try this technique myself. One question: Do you always use the sponge on technique when working with acrylic paint? I hate brush marks when doing furniture :-( Thanks for sharing and all you do to teach others.

To avoid brush marks the sponge on technique is the way to go. :)

what shades of brown did you use?

Joanne, I really like this look and I will try it. I have a question for you. What range of color I would need of a burgundy color leather and if doing a foot stool with pleats would I just go over the pleat. I was looking through my minis just yesterday and found this little 4piece set and was thinking about the other method you use, but I like this one better.

:) Todo depende del efecto que la miniaturista desea obtener para su projecto. Ella queria imitar un sillon de cuero. La tecnica que ella demuestra en el video es como obtener el efecto de un sillon de cuero viejo que ha tenido mucho uso.
