    Great video, clear and concise. I used to use one of those chain cleaning brushes until I discovered that it was damaging the o-rings. I went back to using an old toothbrush to clean the chain...yes is it's a little more laborious, but I know the o-rings are not damaged in the process. I pour some kerosene in a glass jar and dip the toothbrush in it and start cleaning - saves spraying it everywhere.

      @@cdnrider6200 No, you don't have to register the OBD2, but you do have to register the TuneECU app. Which is 25 Euro which equates to about $26 US Dollars. However the standard license used to be for life. But as of Sept 1st 2023 new licences will no longer be for life. The standard licence will be valid for 1 year (3 years for the Pro licence). When the licence is renewed, the number of registered bikes will be reset to zero. BUT...If you purchased the license before 9/1/23 then your license is grandfathered in for life. Just any new licenses after that date will be annually

    I own a new '23 Tiger 1200 and am sure the info you provide (less chain info) will apply to it as well. I have yet to check if my 'Bluedriver' OBD will work on a Triumph. So, thank you for this. I don't know if it is a legal thing or they just want their dealers to make more money (or both,) but manufacturers really make it hard for bike owners to do even basic maintenance. You don't get tool kits anymore and they certainly don't provide instructions in the owner's manual. All the high-tech electronic stuff on new bikes is a mixed blessing. The day I can't do a simple oil change is when I hang the towel.

    • @Mudslidex1
      @Mudslidex1  2 роки тому +3

      Yeah, I have mixed feelings about all the tech and electronics. When they're working, they work great, but when something goes wrong... I always like working on my own cars and bikes but some things gotta leave to the pros. But basic oil changes should NOT require a trip to the dealer to reset a service light. Come on Triumph!

    • @robspear6004
      @robspear6004 Рік тому +2

      Of all the bikes (and cars/trucks as well) I own, Triumph is the only one that makes resetting the oil change interval a overly administrative event. Moving forward that intrusive resetting nonesense likely will make my next purchase something other than the Triumph.

    Just wondering where you found the "Tune ECU" app, I have a kindle and can't find it on the android library.. any help would be appreciated. Also It looks like you have the same bike as me, mine's a GT, anyhow a suggestion for a video ( I know your not a how to channel) how about doing a video on removing the body panels to access air filter, coolant tank, spark plugs etc? I'm sure their are many of us out there who wonder how to.. anuhow thanks for your vids appreciate them

      @Mudslidex1  Рік тому +1

      Tune ECU app isn't in the app store. You can download it from the creators website tuneecu.net/ Then you pay for it and he usually responds within a day to get it registered and ready for use. Good suggestion on the "how to" topics you mentioned. All things I'm curious about doing myself and will be sure to document when the time comes, but I may do it sooner just as I'm curious myself. Thanks again

    Hi!! I’m trying to reset the maintenance light on my 2022 tiger rally 900. But tuneEco ask for payment through PayPal to an Gmail account. Is that correct or is it scam?? Sorry I’m new in this business.

    • @Mudslidex1
      @Mudslidex1  Місяць тому +1

      It's legit. I was a little hesitant at first when I learned about TuneECU. But I guess the creator doesn't want to go through the Google Play store and have them take a cut of his profits so he does payment on the side. I do have to say that he's very responsive and process the payment and license quickly (at least when I did it a couple of years ago). But it is a legit program and the creator does process the request and responds in a timely manner

      Yeah, it stinks they don't make an iPhone version. I use an iPhone as well, but I keep an old Android phone around just for the TuneECU app. You don't even need to have service on it, just wifi. You can probably find old android devices really cheap and the app even works on an 8 year old Samsung tablet I have. Good luck.

    I just got my Tiger 900 Rally Pro last week. So you did your 600 mile first service yourself huh? Is that First Service a glorified oil change? Or..should I be thinking about how to do it myself? I've never adjusted a chain before and have no clue yet. Oil and all that is fine but, not sure what else the Triumph dealer would do...

    • @Mudslidex1
      @Mudslidex1  2 роки тому +3

      It’s really what you are comfortable with. The oil change part is simple as you can see. The rest of the maintenance they do is “checking” things like fluid levels which you can easily do. And they will check the torque on things like engine mounts and axel nuts (so they say). I measured my chain tension and it was in spec but a little on the high side and didn’t need adjustment. I actually finally adjusted it last night after 2000 miles. It was my first time as well and was super easy. Took maybe 10 minutes and most of that was getting out the tools. There are plenty of videos that go into detail on how to do it. It really is easier than you think.

    Couple questions, was the app on your phone the OBD link ? Or something else?
    Second question what type of rear wheel lift did you use?
    I'm 3 weeks into my GT, a twin of yours and aside from the heat on the left leg and it being a little "buzzy" arpund 64-66 mph its really a fun bike
    Thanks for the video, keep'em coming!

    • @Mudslidex1
      @Mudslidex1  2 роки тому +2

      Thanks. The app on my phone was TuneEcu. It’s about $14.00 now and unfortunately only available for Android devices. As for the rear wheel lift I used this one from Amazon. Although it was $54.00 when I bought it last year. Kw it’s double that! amzn.to/3fUjcjj. I too noticed the buzzyness at highway speeds but read a tip on a forum about switching the bike to sport mode to reduce it. It actually does work. I now ride around in sport mode and although it doesn’t get rid of all the buzz, it is a noticeable decrease when riding on highway
