Thanks for the reminder, about to do my first oil change and forgot to order the crush washer. Have a few from my Suzuki, but none for my Tiger, so ordered them in, and will wait till they get here.
Just did my 2022 tiger 900gt for the 2nd time and both oil changes done with new filter and the bike took just about 3.2 qts for the sight glass to read toward the upper fill line. I followed the same exact procedure with the bike level on the center stand.
I have a 2023 900 GT pro, the most important Torque spec is the drain plug...18 Foot=lbs. , and the filter is hand tight, plus a bit more. You can train a Chimp to change oil, so taking it to the dealer is a waste of $$$$, I always tell them DON'T CHANGE THE OIL", but do the rest of the software checks , and torque specs/chain etc.
I thought Triumph's oil change procedure is to refill the bike with oil before fitting the new filter to avoid air locks starving the bike on start up. This may have been on the new Tiger 1200 though rather than the 900. I can't remember which.
@@PatsAdventuresTravels I have now checked where I heard this, and it is in the latest Tiger 1200's oil change procedure. The manual says "WARNING: Fitting the new oil filter before filling the engine will create an air lock in the oil gallery and oil starvation. Oil starvation will cause premature engine damage leading to engine failure"
Did you ever have to lift the bike off both wheels? I have to replace tires and need to know where to lift it without hurting bike. I have a bike lift. I have tiger rally 900 nothing in manual.
@PatsAdventuresTravels thanks unfortunately I have a plastic plate that came with the rally. I think I will try the paddock front back stands I heard about hope that works

Glad I could help!!

Yeah it is a piece of cake, but not everyone is mechanically inclined. It's amazing sometimes to watch people struggle with a screw driver.

Never have I heard of such a thing. Usually if you do that oil will come out where the filter should be.

Where did you get those highway pegs? Thanks for your video, I'm going to do my first ever oil change, of any type, shortly.
Off amazon. they are pretty cheap but they work well.
You can do an oil change on a Indian chief vintage next and teach us how to do that one? Lol just kidding good vid.
I am sure it's even easier!! Ride it over and I'll do it. better than the dealer too!
How do you you reset the service reminder on the screen?
That will be in the next video.
@@PatsAdventuresTravels , ok thanks, looking forward to it….
Can you explain where is location of oil level window?
Its there on the bottom right side of the engine.

Not yet but I'd use the center stand. On my BMW I just use a small jack under the skid plate when I have both wheels off at the same time.

@@MrCoonass1970 Yeah I got rid of that and put a TRex plate on the bike. Looks and fits good but will probably never need it lol.
Too lazy to look up torque values?
Yep. Never had an issue with oil changes. Now when it’s a critical issue then I will.
