- After having an excellent Kansai-style sukiyaki at Morita Restaurant in the Marunouchi Building, I was full and headed to the Imperial Palace for a walk to burn some calories.
For the first time, I strolled through the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace, where the ruins of Edo Castle are located.
This is truly an oasis in the city and one of the best sightseeing spots in Tokyo where you can feel the vestiges of Edo Castle.
There are many places to enjoy in different seasons, such as the Edo Castle Keep, the guardhouse, and other buildings that remind us of Edo's history, as well as the vast lawn and the garden where you can enjoy the autumn leaves.
The East Gardens (Imperial Household Agency) is free of charge, while the Shinjuku Gyoen (Environment Agency) is charged.
