little known fact: Balete Drive is a real place in Philippines. it has the reputation of being haunted especially back then when there were still plenty of balete trees lining the roads (and if you would've travelled there at night, it would be really, really dark.) these days, Balete Dr. is definitely more modern. better roads/better lighting, some trees are cut/trimmed, more modern houses line the road. it definitely isnt as scary as it used to be. the "White Lady" is a ghost of a murder or vehicle crash or rape victim. it depends on who is telling the story. mostly, cab drivers who go through there at night will have various ghost stories about Balete Dr. some will even refuse to take their passenger through that road at night. personally, ive been through that place numerous times as a kid. i liked being spooked since usually, we'd be in a van/bus with friends and family going out of town.
I swear Balete Drive is scary af even when the sun is up in the sky. My school was only a few streets away from the street and our school service would usually pass by it. You can just feel that the place is really haunted.
Tabi tabi po literally mean.. "Please, step aside." whoever was the supernatural creatures that you could not see as you pee or walk passed by the forest or a tree..You have to ask them to step aside so you would not disturb them or pee at them as they were known to be very aggressive towards those who offend them.
Interesting reaction. The anime is a mix of Constantine and NCIS so its a cop procedural show with creatures from Philippine folklore. Since the Philippines has historical connections with Spain, the names and pronounciation of words is slightly Spanish.
To get the gist Aswangs are Philippine counterpart of Skinwalkers/Wendigos. But more human in disguise. Skinwalkers are literally bareskin humanoid that transforms into monsters and such but Aswangs can disguise completely looking like a normal person (tho they said that the indicator of a person being an Aswang is they dont have philtrums and you are reversed upside down in the reflection in their eyes) and can transform to wolves, big black cats, big dogs, wildboars and such.
Thanks for watching!

10:24 Trese doesn't use Wing Chun, I believe she uses the traditional Filipino martial arts called Eskrima.

The guy that was chillin in the tree is what we call Kapre. They are giant elemental spirits who always smoke a big-a$$ ganja joint.
