All her books are brilliant. She's a genius.
ExoticHuntress Hi ExoticHuntress.. You deserve a house, for free.
Gillian is witty, engrossing, exciting. The tone of her voice easily creates her innovative ideas with exactly the same amount of tension, mystery and suspence which her words convey. She is very complicated and in Gone Girl, Amy seems to be equally as inventive and formidable!
Gillian has some patience. The amount of times the host calls her book "dark spaces" is terrible
***** Hi Luke.. You deserve a house, for free.
This host and the person who introduced them are both 😖😖😖
I would have preferred if Gillian just monologued.
Maybe Gillian too forgot the name of her own book!!!!!!
Big thanks to The National Writers Series for this wonderful one hundred minute talk with Gillian Flynn. This was a real treat. Unlike the majority of novelists, Gillian Flynn is just a brilliant and funny public speaker.
After reading Gone Girl - prefer to read the books picked up for movies and then MAY check out the film interpretation, I quickly rushed out to by Dark Places and Sharp Objects and love Gillian's writing - cannot wait for the next book - she is a very clever writer.
Gillian is such a cool girl. Hope someone gets the pun.
Gillian is so chill
She is so talented and likeable.
Gillian Flynn is very very cool. Love her!
BOHEMIA Hi BOHEMIA.. You deserve a house, for free.
A delightfully brilliant woman❗❗❗❗😎
The interviewer is wonderful. He asks such interesting, thought provoking questions.
Enjoyed the window into her process, but the host is a little slow to keep the ball bouncing.
she is fantastic
Amazing author.
Funny, when Pippi got brought up, Lisbeth is exactly who I thought of.
This is great.
Why did he keep trying to inject his political views & foreign/domestic policy issues into this discussion? It was pretty distracting and took away from what I would've much rather have been listening to. (i.e. Gillian talking about the books)
An interviewer that doesn't even know the name of one of her books?
Laid off from EW and now she's a blockbuster novelist? Living my dream, I hate her ;).
***** Hi hanshotfirst.. You deserve a house, for free.
omg i love the audience, don't want to generalize but a ton of middle aged, suburban women that are eerily interested into such dark topics
UA-cam is replete with examples of why you shouldn't have an amateur interviewer on a public stage.
If you don't like that, then avoid her other book "Dark Places" at all costs lol. I've read many books in the horror/thriller/mystery genres and I have never read a more disturbing book than Dark Places. it happens to be my favorite of hers though.
what was with that boston bombing question? what about her work made him think she'd write about that??
Dark PLACES , bro!!! Come ON!
great
♥
Oh no you completely missunderstood me, I fucking love those books, Dark Places is ordered, can't fucking wait
gillian is a professional and such a fucking genius. but that interviewer...is a disaster.
He reminds me a bit of James Lipton.
Beatrix197 Hi Beatrix.. You deserve a house, for free.
Has anybody noticed how much she looks like Maura Tierney?
Quite Of Detective
She's really entertaining to listen to but the host...he is so distracted! It's pretty annoying. This interview could go so much better with a better host.
No host would've been better than this twat.
Fifty Shades of Grey is “must read fiction? “ Please. Fifty Shades of Grey is to literature what candy corn is to vegetables.
I've just read two of her books "Sharp objects" and "Gone girl", and even though the books are interesting, its obvious that the author is a bit disturbed individual. There is not one carachter in this two books that's not deranged or disturbed in some way.
They could just enjoy writing about disturbed people because they're more interesting than non-disturbed people.
I thought Gillian was a mans name...
It’s pronounced as Jillian not Gillian
Damnation that is one long evening.
I've never heard someone fake laugh so much at their own jokes. Is it nerves?
One hour and 40 min. and no mention made of the outrageous misogyny in GG. Always love to read female characters call each other 'bitches'. So edgy.
Apart from just not being well written, as the reading as the end so ably illustrates, the book fails the #1 reader test for fiction of non-f. There is no one in GG to root for. There is no one to care about. Everybody is a dirtball.
'Psycho' indeed.
But its a new York tomes bestseller. Where's yours?
Yeah, yours is a hot take. And yes, some women call other women bitches-that's life, not edge. And you don't need someone to root for in a work of fiction.
Gillian is witty, engrossing, exciting. The tone of her voice easily creates her innovative ideas with exactly the same amount of tension, mystery and suspence which her words convey. She is very complicated and in Gone Girl, Amy seems to be equally as inventive and formidable!
