Good work. Great show of support around him. My guess is an ESC failure on the left motor closest to the tip of the wing. That, or a motor not fully winding up. Great landing though and good too see ths beautiful bird survive another day
Thanks Ben! I completely agree with your assessment, and with the fact folks were very much behind him getting his stricken bird down in one piece. Cheers my friend!!
Wow. With a plane that big and heavy...AND at an event with tons of people, you have to cross your T's and dot your I's. It clearly had the issue before takeoff. Pre-flights save airplanes, and sometimes even people in model aviation.
HI JOHN THANKS FOR SHARING SIR. I WAS 🤞🏼ALL THE WAY THROUGH THIS FLIGHT. SO HAPPY GOT IT DOWN IN 1 PIECE 🙏🏼. TAKE CARE EVERYONE HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A GREAT DAY 🇬🇧🇺🇲✌🏼🤩
crap, I was white knuckling just watching this scenario, and not even my plane, lol! Thought it was a goner for sure after that pitch up on the missed...glad it worked out ok, wow..
What a flabbergasting flight!! There certainly was some schenannagens going on, but I don't think anyone was having fun 😯😁. When it went behind the trees I thought, ok, somebody grab the trash bags and a golf cart. Insert hero moment- he was able to get it back to the ground in one piece. Has he determined what was going on?? AirHammer out!!
Hi Hammer, I totally agree, when it went missing behind the trees I thought this will be a short flight!! The owner/pilot later determined at least one of the ESCs wasn't functioning due to damaged wires, possibly two! That led to the severe asymmetric thrust. Glad the story ended well...man what a close call!!
So glad I found this comment. Not even something I would have thought to do. Have only flown single motor airplanes before. Just ordered a twin engine MotionRC AL37. Also have my future sights set on one of these bad boys, but at the moment still above my current budget. Nothing a couple of months worth of saving around monthly bills won't solve though LOL
@@JustwingitRC definitely! I'm learning, lol. I have owned and flown a couple of single motor planes as I mentioned before, however nothing even close to this size but my primary interest has always been of the rotary wing variety. My kids all did a thing and went in together to collectively purchase a 700 size Goblin for me for Christmas
Bad pre flight maybe? Great flying by always fly the plane. Fantastic Coaching my someone willing to help and not get video. Fantastic video John. zoom zoom zoom Jeff in LA USA
Bad pre-flight for sure Jeff! The owner pilot posted in RCG he found out at least one of the ESCs wires had been cut by the fan earlier. At least nobody got hurt and the whole field stood quietly so he could concentrate. Cheers and Happy New Year to you brother!!
I think it had something to do with the motors causing asymmetric thrust. You'll see the plane torques left pretty hard whenever the pilot increased throttle.
awesome, giant rc airplane
Thank you my friend 😎👍😁
you're welcome my friend@@JustwingitRC
Amazing flying, heart was in my mouth thinking this will end bad. Great filming. Thanks mate.
Thank you Peter, I was holding my breath during that one!!! Cheers and Happy New Year to you mate!

And balls like watermelons 🍉 😅😅😅
@@ficosk8Yessir 😂😁👍
lucky !!! you can hear the 'rattling' during the take off attempt and take off...nice save..."keep flying the plane" 😁
Thanks brother! A lot of folks held their breath on that one 😳👍😁
Looks like he needed to run through some engine out checklists before vectoring to approach and landing. How many souls and fuel onboard? 👍
Indeed 😎👍😁
I think Karen made it into the cockpit on that plane.
@@kaddiddlehopper They needed Sully in there for sure!
THAT was a nail biter! Glad it worked out!🎉🎉🎉
A wild ride for sure my brother 😳👍😁🎉🏆🏅

I am completely and totally with you brother! I posted this video more as a cautionary tale than anything else as it could have ended very badly...
Your F4F looks amazing ! very nice....

Did he calibrate the throttle range with each ESC.
Not sure, but that would be the prudent thing to do my friend!

My goodness that was atrocious...beginning with that takeoff with the rattling wheel!!??? Why
I completely agree...
