Well done Mr & Mrs Nyoni on building a comfortable dream house for your retirement years. Take your time in planning your transition. There is really no rush... assess all the macro-economic fundamentals first and make an informed decision. Best wishes!
I guess its setting up your base there, one way or the other people in the diaspora have the capacity to have a structure at home but some dont do that. This is meant to encourage others that home is best.
Our healthcare system has nothing to do with the economy , but the government is not directing financial aid in order to resuscitate the healthcare system. Otherwise there is no place like home. Your plan has inspired me to start planning.
Beautiful presentation. I love the synergy between the two of you… I am a fellow ZimboAussy and I honour that you are discussing this (putting a lot of thought into it) and supporting each other’s dream… may the Lord continue to bless you and am grateful that you have chosen to share your journey with us. Wish you the best… the future is bright.
I love the way you appreciate Australia. You are honest and humble couple. Many people they are discouraged others to move abroad. God bless you so much sir and your family
New subscriber!!! Wow what an inspiring story. Zimbabwe is a beautiful country despite it's challenges. Home is always best. What really touched me was what you said Mr Nyoni that '....if you live your life in fear you will not experience life' so profound. That reallyh touched me as someone who is also planning to return home to Zimbabwe. The reasons you articulated are understandable. You will be much happier at home in Zimbabwe with your parents and amongs't your community. Nursing home is a no no absolutely not!!! Will be following your story.
Your video resonated with me because we are hoping to move back home hopefully before our retirement age so that we can enjoy our life in Zimbabwe tichakagwinya.
Ķudos to you guys , Eccl 11 v4 'If you wait until the wind and the weather are just right, you will never plant anything and never harvest anything'. Thanks for the content really encouraging. I really like what Madam said about not worrying so much about the health delivery system in Zim but trusting God for protection, my sentiments exactly for he indeed is the Great protector.
We are also thinking of doing the same and leave the kids. They can always decide to come back or move elsewhere, but for us we have also decided to move back home God willing. The rest we leave it for God.
All I can say you are truely blessed to be able to do all those projects . Happy for you for some its hard to have that extra budget when in diaspora, Except if you have to sell your property in diaspora. Thank you for sharing
Thank you for your comment, its sacrifice that we managed to do that and it was over time. Whats important is the desire to do it and setting the ball rolling. Just give it a try you will thank me later.
Just came across your video, no plans to move to Zim, but just bought a piece of land last Saturday. Hope one day i will buy my rural home here in the USA

Enjoy retirement . Your home is amazing. So many logistics but some of it you have to let God take care. Also good that you can always go back to Aussie.
Banking sector , the health sector is the only thing holding me back.. We have built a private school, lodge and are into transport business as well.I miss home.
We are in the same boat as you guys, 20 years in the UK just waiting for son to start Uni and we are off. I saw your beautiful house all complete and furnished. A question on that, do you have a reliable caretaker who looks after the property.?We want to get to that point as well but unsure how it will work if we are not going to be living in the house until 2027.Does the furniture not deteriorate?
We have a very good lady looking after the house. We also go home every year for a minimum 6 weeks and this year we will be going for 3 months. Putting people to rent trashes the house. We have seen with our other house. You get money but end uo using all of it and more on repairs.
2028 is a good target for moving back. That said, the Zimbabwe of 2028 will a different kettle of finish factoring in the infrastructure and realestate development going in. You plan to start transitioning by doing a month to 3 months is sound, as it will prepare you and really open your eyes on what you need to be fully committed to retirement. Lets chat.
So true. Its hard to own anything in the diaspora I also want to build and do the same thing. But eish land issue in Zim is still a problem I hope you bought land from a council I want ancestral land and rural development but there is so much confusion in that area now with some houses being demolished jus a warning to everyone in the diaspora abt Sabhuku deals. It's hard to understand because back in the day you would jus go to the chief to acquire land in the rural areas now we don't even know what to do.
You can still go to your chief and get land. What the sabhuku were doing was taking council land and parcel it out and others on their own will just built on council land. Now the council's are complaining that they need to undertake their developmental activities but they can't coz their land has been invaded.
You can access it once you reach 60 years of age but you have to resign or stop working as a condition or else you wait for 65 years of age and there are no conditions to access your superannuation then
