And here's also another true fact...on Conan O'Brian he said while he doing this call in scene, he was at home in bed...naked. I've never thought of this scene the same way since.
I didn't recognize his voice the first time either. When I rewatched it , I recognized the way he pronounced certain words. Maybe it was the phone effect too, but yeah, he sounds totally different now.
It is him. Directly from his Imdb page: "Frasier" .... Steven (1 episode, 1994) - Slow Tango in South Seattle (1994) TV episode (voice) .... Steven I know it's short, but they used to have guest stars as callers on the show and list them in the credits of the final episode for the season.
The laugh is there and you can reg´cognise it faintly if you focus on the timbre of his voice. But I have to admit, as someone with nearly-perfect pitch, I couldn't recognise James' voice here ;)
I almost couldn't tell it was Spader until he did one of his iconic line pauses at 0:30
Man I was listening to this and going "this is not Spader, is it?"
Then, at exactly 30 seconds, I heard it and went IT IS out loud.
It is definitely Spader. Listen closely to the part at around 0:30 when he says "..making love in the morning" and you'll recognize it for sure :)
James Spader is gorgeous!

Wow that's interesting and strange
Damn 😏
@@mew10521 not strange to me damn 😏
oh thats fkn nasty!!!!!!
Dam, he sounds nothing like the James Spader I know of today

I wonder he still has his strings.
@@sarahkinsey5434 yes, especially when he says “ourselves”
His intonation is the same, the phone just seems to make his voice sound higher than it normally is.
i had no idea that was him wow
@MrLunitunz Actually they listed celebs who guest starred as callers in the credits of the season finale. ;)
i kept waiting for the twist and it just never came
They kind of wasted of him. An actual appearance on the show would have been great. Alan Shore would have driven Frasier & Niles nuts.
What episode?
@@mew10521 According to IMDB that's not true, he has only been the voice of the caller, Steven, from this clip.

"Dr. Crane, why don't you tell us about the best erection of your life?"
Lol, reddington on the line
i think it does sound like him
Which series and episode is it???
aHa! Wondered about this for ages.
@euginam91 where's THAT youtube video?!?!?!?!
To think he made that phone call naked... ☺
Was that all? So short... and it doesn't sound like him, yeah. But thanks for uploading!

Robert California
@euginam91 When shouldn't he be? XD
When they make a movie about the last GOP debacle of a presidency (and they will), Spader is the only that can play Rudy Giuliani.
Who do you figure for the remake, "Weekend at Biden's?"
Imagine still thinking you're smart for making Trump jokes when a dumbass like Biden is wrecking the country lol
Trump 2024! LET'S GO BRANDON!
