I have heard the dirt on the engine acts like a blanket to trap heat, which is the enemy of moving parts! Anyway, how would you clean the radiator fins where all the bugs and pollen, etc. get trapped? Would degreaser be bad for the aluminum radiator?
Take a fine little wire brush and brush the radiator the same direction of the fins, usually up and down not side to side, and do it gently. Then use a hose to get the rest. Same advice my mentor gave me.

Good Quest. I have not seen anyone address the radiator. The fin are delicate so be careful
