The brides of funkenstien need to do a comeback tour!!
Damn...now thats FUNK!!!!#!
I'm a millennial and love 70's and 80's retro nights at my favorite club. I get to dress up from those decades and get my groove on 😉
Smell dat………2022……Still Funky
Fantastic
bassline is just KRAZY, thanks for the post and keep them coming
BLOWIN YO MIND!!! NOBODY HERE BUT US FUNKERS!!!
In The D, we were Earl Flynn-ing on this joint
that bassline is crazy hypnotic. I cant get through the song because I keep starting it over. I wish I could have seen this live!
Dang ladies, mind blownin!
You can not sit still and listen to this.
flashlight is eternal but this is the motherlode for steady, funky, move yo ass groove. that shit is rollin fo real!!!!!!!
imagine being on stage bangin that bassline with the ladies truly puttin it down. i defy any of today's ladies, beyonce, mariah ect..., to handle these vocals. please tell me who the lead is for i will marry her tomorrow!!!!!!
The Brides Band Up In Heah ! ! !
Awesome track! P-Funk to the max! What a bass line! Love playing that 12" for my friends!
Nope - that was ME (Bruce Nazarian) on Fender Bass - We need to keep the funky record straight!
The Bruce Nazarian of Brownsville Station?
Wasn't it Rodney skeet Curtis that created the baseline?
Up in hare- up in hare!
i had never heard of this group b4 but now i'm a fan
Up in HERE!!!!!
Not only do you hear Bernie Worrell, but it's Cordell Mason's bass lick thats keep the bottom tight during the changes... and "Bigfoot" Jermone Brailey is stomping on the drums...
This is the funkiest Brides Of Funkenstein jam they made.
Partying in my chair here at work... "Swing down sweet chariot and let me ride"
Completely ehm..nuts but how I like it..Blew the speakers of my car last month with these Girlz from tha Funky past..
Rodney Skeet Curtis provides the rock steady bass on this song.
kicking bass line and the horns
Oh no my friend. That is Rodney Skeet Curtis all the way. Just check the writers credit on the album label. Skeet confirmed this with me himself.
THE BEST YEAR EVER.
If you listen closely to "Never Buy Texas...", that is definitely a bass synth locking the groove down. More than likely played by Bernie Worrell.
love it keep em coming
🤘🏿
Um, no Tim - sorry - NOT Jeff Bunn - on the original recording that's ME, Bruce Nazarian, and my Fender precision bass (with a little help from a Mu-tron Bi-phase) - but DEFINITELY that's Bernie Worrell giving up his signature "Woo" (on Mini Moog).
I saw Parliament and The Bride's in San Diego when One Nation Under A Groove And Disco-To-Go was out. My first and favorite Concert!!! Were you with them then? Anyways, you sounded great!
Wasn't it Rodney skeet Curtis who created the baseline?
Yes it does, and I do stand corrected on that observation.
aaaaaight,,, thanx man

www.discogs.com/Brides-Of-Funkenstein-The-Never-Buy-Texas-From-A-Cowboy/master/19722
it could have went to either group but yes brides and parlet had the same musicians on their albums but this is a brides tube but mallia Franklin did sing on this album so you close
Brides
No that my wife SheliaHorne singing, Jeanette Mcgruder and Dawn Silva!
@blaakhawk Man Amorus, and Disco to go (which i played about 1,000 times today) are definetley there baddest ones, but this one is good too.
OK, thank you for the clarification. But I didn't say that Jeff was the bass player on this song or Never Buy Texas.
You gotta know how to funk !!
AWWWWWW SHIT!!!!!!
C'mon Skeet!!!
that is skeet on bass; he co-wrote this..
+1 pleaseplease im beggin you PLEAAAASEEEE!!!
you're correct, Tim - YOU did not say it was Jeff Bunn (chenoe did), but you DID say it was definitely a bass synth, quite likely played by Bernie, and i just wanted to clarify that fact. Never Buy Texas has a host of incorrect facts circulating about it. Hope this helps clarify that particular track (NBTFAC)
i'm pretty sure that Skeet composed and plays bass on this track 😊
🔴ICONIC FUNK🔴so Google ultrafunktruckadelic and checkout the tribute band,WARNING your booty movement will blow your mind.🤘💣💣😲
check this out!! the grooviest bass of tha universe babe!! I think bootsy is not from earth!!!!
not bootsy on bass
well I would if it was really different from the LP version but it's the same. But as you probably know 12" singles have a much better dynamic and the sound is better. That's the only difference and one that would not be very significant if heard on UA-cam...
@witenoise1 Damn dude!! I can't believe how you just tore up your friends! But i don't blame you one bit. If they think what they think about this, then like i said, i don't blame you one bit!
I think that shit deals with some kind of rhythm deafness. I live in Deafland, I know what i'm talking about... frustrating...
