  • Obviously I'm not a doctor!! I'm just going off what I know from my experience. Always chat with your doctor about how you're feeling and what you can do to help you feel better.
    Medication is not anything to be ashamed about, which is why I decided to film this video. The more we talk about this stuff, the closer we are to ending the stigma

    I appreciate this video so much. I’ve been slowly raising my Zoloft dose since late last year. I started 100mg of Zoloft last Friday and also take Strattera for adhd. The medicine has completely changed my life for the better.

      I have no idea what your situation is but I thought I might mention this. I used Strattera for a few months and it made me EXTREMELY depressed. Like I didn’t realize what it was doing to me until I attempted suicide. Do with that what you will, just thought I’d mention it in case you need to know.

      No original poster but in my experience. I’ve been on Zoloft for 2 years. It took me about 3 months to find the right dose. I started at 50 then ended up at 150. 7-8 months I felt like a normal human being for the first time in my life. Sometimes it gets worse before it gets better with Zoloft! Good luck

    Im not sure how long I took Zoloft maybe 3 or 4 weeks but I stopped because it made it worse and to the point of me becoming suicidal. It really scared me to keep trying new medicine. Which made me freak out about the next one I took for fear of it happening again. I'm still trying different medicines and am hoping to give them more of a chance. I know everyone's different and am so glad that it's helping a lot of people instead of worsening like it did to me.

      @@Rebelz173 Not sure whether you intended it or not but regardless you should be aware that this comes across as quite judgemental and uninformed. There are a range of reasons why someone would be reluctant toward medication despite really wanting to improve their wellbeing. Medication isn't always the best fit for everyone and having a bad experience on medication can really make you hesitant to try another. Not trying to call you out just letting you know that there's no relation between being unsure of medication and wanting to get better.

    I personally tried Zoloft in the past and it worked well, and I got off of it due to feeling better. Lately I've been severely depressed again, so I started taking it again and it has been a total hell for me since. I barely sleep, my depression did not improve at all. I don't know what happened since I felt good when I first started taking it, and have been taking it for a month now, upped the dosage to 200mg and still no change. Totally frustrating.

      Update, it helped a bit but my sex drive was completely gone, and my emotions were still all over the place. I had some self harm thoughts, more than usual with my depression and anxiety. I decided to stop them and I feel better. I gave them a two month fighting chance but the no sex drive wasn’t worth the little improvement I was feeling. It did help me regulate thoughts more I just say but CBD/THC has been helping me better as of now.

    I took Zoloft for about 2 years. The first couple months I felt high as a kite, amazing actually. Then over time, I just became emotionless, with the occasional burst of irritability or anger. I was so relieved after I made myself stop taking it and started actually having emotions again. When the doctor increased the dosage I became totally robotic. That's when I decided I'd had enough.

    • @kyliedrinks1
      @kyliedrinks1 4 роки тому +2

      Boom..Just the comment I was looking for. When you stopped, did you slowly ween yourself off of the medication? How long after you stopped did you feel normal again? Also did you ever deal with electric shock type feeling?

      @chrisduncan3943 4 роки тому +3

      @@kyliedrinks1 I actually stopped cold turkey, which is not the best way to quit probably. Yes, I had brain zaps for about 2 weeks. And I felt better emotionally almost immediately and totally normal with no side effects after no more than a month. I think if you wean off it maybe you can avoid the brain zaps. But yeah, I would prefer to have emotions, even negative ones, over being chemically lobotomized.
