5:33 She is not the typical western zombi but a jiāngshī, also known as a Chinese hopping vampire, a type of reanimated corpse in Chinese legends and folklore. The characters for "jiāngshī" are read goeng-si in Cantonese. The use of a talisman on its forhead is to make the corpses move by themselves for easier transportation. Talismans are written in vermillion which represents pure Yang energy. By tacking a talisman to the forehead of the corpse would enable the jiangshi to be controlled by the priest in doing whatever he orders but in Qiq's case she gives orders to herself.

2:14:27 there's videos for that, they're called collected miscelany and they're a more in depth guide on what each character does, there's one for (almost) every character, just some of the day one characters don't have it
All trailers showed they skills and burst (ult), you were either not paying attention or they have merge it well enough into the trailer that you didn't notice. Furina's skill is the blue animals, she has pets that attack. Her burst is when the camera zoomed in on her. If you wish to know more about their skills and burst, you might want to check their specific Character Miscellany. Cause unless you know a character, or are paying enough attention, you wouldn't catch when they used their skills or burst.
I think its the later, that is just Genshin trailer, they placed the gameplay into the trailer so well that unless you are Avid player, you would not notice

I wonder, its almost like all the burst before furina had a big scene that shows the animation and is immediately followed by the character doing something with it

The budget really increased for these through the years so that’s why the newer ones are just so much better than the older ones.
38:17 It is literal one of their parents is not human but a mythical animal/beast that can transform in to a human. Yanfei's father is a Xiezhi. They have great intellect and understand human speech. The xiezhi possesses the innate ability to distinguish right from wrong, and thus is a symbole for justice.
2:12:02 Furina is sort of a hybrid sub dps and support. Her elemental skill changes effect based on what form she is in; when she is in her black outfit her skill summons the salon solitaire (the 3 animals you saw her on stage with) and has them attack nearby enemies, they will attack any enemy all at once but if you damage a different one they will focus on your target instead of the original one they attacked, they do great damage but with the condition that when they attack your team has its hp drained until members reach around 60% hp (her summons also do more damage the closer to full health the whole team is). When shes in her white outfit she summons the singer of many water, people near it will be healed.
Furinas burst is solely focused on support, when team members receive healing furina gains fanfare points and grants her team a dmg bonus based on how many fanfare points she currently has, how many points she has is indicated by animations that play during its duration, bubbles will float up on the sides of the screen and an audience will show up in the bottom of the screen everytime she reaches a certain number of point with there being more and more ppl in the audience. when she reaches max points the screen will flash with a sort of white wave. All her burst does for her white form is decrease the intervals between her healing so youre pretty much always using the burst in her black form.
Since furina is usually off field her best set is Golden Troupe, using 2 pieces with increase elemental skill dmg (the salon solitaire), 4 pc will increase it even further and grant a very brief dmg bonus when the holder returns to the field. oddly enough furina is one of only a few units who deal more dmg without an elemental goblet, furina get most value out of an hp goblet rather than a hydro dmg bonus
Since so much of her kit is built around others being healed to get the max dmg from her skill and quickly max out her burst buff, its very common to use furina with another healer. Shes also pretty easy to build since most of her kit revolves around stacking a ton of hp on her. But if you plan on pulling furina, a good healer for her in most cases is jean. Jeans heals scale off of atk making her a good unit to deal dmg and heal with, and jeans burst stacks furina's fanfare points pretty fast bc when you use it jean instantly heals all team members

If you want to main Amber since you enjoy her right now, try to save up 34 starglitter by October because it is really hard to get her constellations. I used to main her because she's a favorite of mine, but later game she didn't really keep up with the other characters I had but I love playing her so I keep trying to get her better artifacts and cons so I can main her again. C2 is really good since you can detonate Baron Bunny at will, but there's a later constellation where fiery rain increases attack that would be super beneficial. Still stuck at C2 tho. Amber mains are really cool and the "gun" Amber builds I've seen are sick.
My favourite character is Kokomi! I love her design and she has saved me so many times from dying 😅. Second favourite is a tie between Furina and Nahida, they are both so precious
Scoot, you should totally watch the character teasers when you get the chance. Their personalities will really shine through.
24:24 As for roles, yeah there kinda are roles, but some characters can kinda reach outside their roles;
1. DPS. Your classic "Do damage" character.
1a. Hyper DPS. A DPS that is REALLY easy to support. You can run an entire team of supports just for them and do insane damage. Example: Hutao
1b. Solo DPS. A DPS that does good without any supports. Very good if you dont want to think, and just want to kill monsters. Example: Ayaka (kinda of?)
2. Shielder. Generates shield for the team. When you have a shield, you dont take damage and cant be interrupted/stunned. You can still be frozen though, so you have to be careful. Some shielders, like Diona, apply a buff along with shielding the team.
3. Healers. Heal the party, and usually provide a buff as well.
4. Supports. They are there to make your DPSs shine even more.
If you react to more genshin promos or trailers, one suggestion I have is "An Idol's Healing Magic" Barbara is one of the older characters who doesn't get her own trailer, but this video for her is super sweet and has nice animation with a slightly more detailed model than usual. There's another video "Explore Liyue with Amber" that has similar animation at the beginning, but it's more of a gameplay showcase video of her, Xiao, and Aether with her voicing over it.

To expand on the "knowing more about the characters' stories".
For _most of_ each 5★ and 4★, we could divide this into two things:
> The first, and common thing for all characters of both grades, is that you can access bits and pieces of bio' as you gain Companion/Friendship EXP, through the "Profile" and "Voice-Over" sections
(If you look in the Character tab, under the HP/ATK/DEF/... lines, you'll see a Friendship bar, have fun filling it up)
> The second thing is, 5★ characters have one Story Quest (or two, which, few have), and 4★ characters have Hangouts
Emphasis on "most of", because:
While Keqing, Qiqi, and Wanderer have words and lines in the main plot, they don't have their own Story Quest.
Same applies to some 4★ not having any Hangout despite having somewhat of a presence in the main plot.
Then there's the exceptional cases of Amber, Kaeya and Lisa having a Story Quest. With Kaeya being the only one of the three to have a Hangout.
And Aloy doesn't count because "collab'".
(They do occasionally appear in other Story Quests or Limited Events.)

I don't have time to watch this whole video in one sit down, but just to make you aware, not all of the chars have demos. These are mostly Mondstadt and Liyue chars. Like Lisa and Amber don't have trailers and neither does Diluc. Once you get to Inazuma chars, every char has a demo. It was just when the game was first released really.

I know she doesn't do the most damage and her playstyle isn't for everyone. But I really like her. She demands precision headshots to really do damage when built right. Like a legit real sniper.
My main team consists of Shogun, Ayaka, Kokomi, and Zhongli but when I do domains,I use Neuvillette, Navia, Furina, and Zhongli

I didn't know scoot had a gaming channel, and i knew even less that he already plays genshin!!! Hell yah!!!!!!!
Just finished the video! My favorite element might be dendro although I really just use Dendro Lumine. The elements I use the most are probably Anemo, Pyro, and Hydro. My favorite characters are Amber (Since she's fun and is closest to me), Venti (I main him as I love his skills + he is just super fun as a character), Barbara (She is FIRE despite being hydro, like if you make her a dps/healer hybrid with ocean hue and crit build she's a must have. Plus she's just really endearing as a character cuz while she seems all sweet and stuff, she' also very fun and mischievous if you look into it.), Wanderer (I have yet to get him but his story is AMAZING + I find asshat characters funny idk, tho there's more to him than that), and of course my top three are the Fontaine siblings Lyney, Lynette, and Freminet who have sooo much character to them with very deep and tragic backstories and the different ways they cope and handle things are shown very well in their outward presentations. Freminet didn't have much shown in the trailer other than being a diver (this isn't really a spoiler since you have to go read it anyways, but still avoid if you wish not to see it yet) but he grew up with his mother trying to pay off his father's debts before she eventually gave him to the Fatui for protection and before the current Knave took over he was forced to carry out a lot of their unseemly work without sowing emotion or ever knowing what happened to his mother. He eventually met Lyney and Lynette though, and they became a family, but he's still trying to warm up to people. He loves building and fixing machines, playing into the steampunk aesthetic of Fontaine, and uses diving and storybooks as a means of escapism. He has no quests outside of a limited event from a while back so you really do have to see a lot of this from his profile.
Anyways, excited to see if you do more with Genshin, as there are so many stories to see!

Wow, your chat has some rude people in it.... Glad to see u enjoying the trailers! and the game! Venti can be annoying, but there is more to him. As for the trailers, Venti's Japanese one was added to the Genshin list before his English one so people end up seeing the Japanese one first when they play them in order.... Also, Fischl's trailer came out so early (before the game release I believe) that it only came in the original Chinese. Klee is an adorable, precious, terrorist bean! I love her so much! Even if her gameplay is a little clunky and she is a bit of a glass cannon, in that she gets KO'd too much (at least for me), and her Ult is only good when she's on the field.... But I just love her personality!

Before we knew about genetics, we assumed that blood was the thing people shared in common with our families. Thus, in this context, this means that she's at least part "Illuminated Beast". Technically the trailers have already shown you a couple of them already but not used that terminology, and assumed you've played through the story to know what that means. Not surprised at all by the confusion.

Kaeya is a great one. Dont sleep on him! From the chars you have at the start he is the best one. Yes I know, Noelle has a shield. But her attacks are low and geo will not help you cause any reactions. He was the first charakter and the first trailer. Of corse it is not so high quality then the following ones. Anyway, they dont do him a favor with this one. I hope he gets a new sometime

everybody in game who knows him praises him for his skills, and he's actually really smart and sweet
personally, I don't use him as support, he's my main and I use him as a dps because I love him. I maxed him out day 1 (besides c6/r5 but he's c6 now) and there's a video around 5 minutes that shows me pulling for him and maxing him out lmao

With Xinyan, I'm like 50% sure in Chinese, her accent is what you would consider "southern" there. So for English, they chose to give her an equivalent of our southern accent!! (Someone correct me if I am wrong though!!) Her name, Xinyan, makes sense, considering she was born and raised In Liyue, meaning she is Chinese! & She's supposed to be blasian, or dark-skinned Asian, but Blasian just seems more likely. Her playing rock-and-roll is supposed to be unique, since that isn't exactly a popular Chinese genre of music! Xinyan the goat

Mate... there's a way Hu Tao wasn't released at Halloween. Game's Chinese, Halloween is a holiday in the US. Cultures around the world have various traditions regarding ghost and, usually, they take precedence over any imported holidays.
Genshin usually avoids cultural and traditional concepts from the US. They prefer leaning on the cultures that they use as the base for the nations in Teyvat: Mondstadt (Germany), Liyue (China), Inazuma (Japan), Sumeru (Middle East and North Africa countries), Fontaine (France and some Italy), Natlan (South and Central American countries), and Snezhnaya (Russia).

People always talk about raiden shoguns writing being bad but just don’t understand her character or her motivations, especially with how good her second character quest is
Same with a ton of characters most of the player base considers to have "no personality". Like, do you people have zero perception skills? Do you _really_ not notice all the details and background that form the character's personality? Smh
i think it's less people do not understand her character/motivations and more people think the EXECUTION of the concepts/story for her was terrible. I wish I could like Raiden's writing because she's so fascinating to me as a character but whoever was writing it up in the actual game failed big time
Nah, it is very much bad, because hoyo failed to properly structure her story, which made her very good second story quest worthless, because she already made a decision that quest lead to before with no motivation to do it. Raiden is a character that has a good story, but bad writing. If the story was structured properly, she would be a pretty good character, but at the state she is right now she is very much a failed character and im glad hoyo did better work with nahida and furina.
@@shinhonwythe reality is that most of the characters in Genshin really have no personality. Most of filler character consist of one major trait (“I like to dance”, “I am a detective”, “I’m a delivery catgirl”), and EVERY time they appear on screen it has something to do with that one personality trait, which makes it like there’s nothing about them apart from that trait. Characters in events always end up as friends, there is a huge lack of different dynamics between different characters, they very much repeat each other (every character is the best in their job, baizhu is the best doctor, chiori is the best designer, Kirara is the fastest delivery girl, xiangling is the best cook, which, again, makes them boring and too “ideal”, these perfect people are not interesting), which makes characters very blank and boring. There are few exceptions, but these exceptions are phenomenal - navia, furina, neuvillete are just some examples of very VERY good characters, that had a perfect writing. So yes, people are correct by saying that most of the characters in Genshin are flat and have no personality, but there definitely are some very good exceptions.
@@yueyueqinn The reality is that your look on the characters is too shallow, and it's almost like you're purposefully refusing to notice the exact same things I was talking about in the comment you replied to - small details and backgrounds.
What you call a "major trait" while describing the characters is not, in fact, a personality trait, it's their job/affiliation. There are also times when the characters' actions are not influenced by their jobs or professional traits. Here are some of the examples from the top of my head: Cyno during the Windblume Festival; Kaeya during the TCG Grand Prix Tournament; Kokomi during the Bottleland Event; Candace during the Parade of Providence inter-darshan event; Yoimiya during the Fontinalia Film Festival.
Characters in events _mostly_ end up as friends/on friendly terms. Of course, that's not always the case. If you look at the most recent Lantern Rite, Neuvillette and Zhongli are purposefully avoiding each other due to them being a Dragon Sovereign and an Archon (albeit a former one), respectively. They are not friends, and there's a huge possibility that they won't ever become friendly with each other.
Similar story with Dainsleif and Kaeya - in the Caribert quest they were mostly on "friendly" speaking terms because of their connection to Khaenri'ah, nothing more. They didn't become friends, and even calling them acquaintances is a bit of a stretch.
You can also take a look at Gorou and Yae Miko, who have an interesting dynamic going on. Yae Miko finds it amusing to tease Gorou on any occasion she can, sometimes crossing certain boundaries, while Gorou, most of the time, is quite frightened (in the Irodori Festival even close to being terrified) of her and tends to avoid her.
It's also worth mentioning that some of the characters are just remaining friendly with their colleagues or the strangers they first meet out of politeness, instead of instantly becoming real friends.
Also, despite the characters seemingly looking "perfect" and "best" at their jobs, they're almost always portrayed facing different struggles and difficulties. They also don't always overcome said difficulties with the Traveller's help, sometimes they figure it out on their own or team up with other characters in game (or, on very rare occasions, even with NPCs), or give up on pointless attempts and just move on.
So yeah, this concludes my point that people are, in fact, incorrect when it comes to labeling characters with a "no personality" tag. There's a whole tiny world built for every character, you just need to look closer - like it would be with people in real life.

Not liking Venti should be illegal. He's the best archon. Also, Kaeya may have a basic trailer, yet he's one of the most important characters to the lore. And one of the best starter characters.
