The fact that you were a beta tester for this game, but didn't play beyond that makes your perspective on this really interesting. The fact that Luocha, Jing Yuan, Blade and Kafka were all playable in the second beta despite the fact that they were not available at launch and Bailu and Yanqing weren't despite them being two of the standard banner seven was something I didn't know until now.
Next we need Rondo Across Countless Kalpas!

Btw, Acheron has 2 other trailers... I think you'd enjoy them (Speaking from a fellow Honkai enthusiast)
But HSR has a couple different trailer systems, like the character demos, Myriad Celest Trailers (Animated) and another type that they do randomly for their love children.
Highly recommend the Myriad trailers in your own time or as another reaction

i love hsr!!! you're gonna love it :D there's spoilers everywhere on twitter, but i think you'll really fall in love with the character Aventurine when you get to penacony eventually!
Didn’t like him at first, but playing through the story changed that.
Aventurine was one of my least favorite characters in the whole game and now it's one of my favorites
It's insane how well written he is, shame I'll have to skip him, otherwise I'd pull him without hesitation

They are really good. They are story related and I kind of wish they had a full anime of Honkai star rail given how well animated they are

not "our mei" just an alternate mei which world was targeted by Finality too but "lost" and was the sole survivor
like hi3 mei, he was the herrsher of thunder and herrsher of origin, but didnt had her Kiana to embrace Finality
she became an emanator of nihility after falling in dispair from that loss of her world
basicly she is what if hi3 had a bad ending

Acheron is in fact a variant of Mei.
She did lose her world to the honkai
She was NOT a Herrscher
She did wield the powers of lightning and origin (as divine keys)
She did not have a Kiana
She became an emanator of Nihility when she attacked IX, not out of despair. Izumo Gensei and the Takamagahara Divine Realm were already within IX's shadow.

I think this playlist is just specifically the Character Trailers, there’s a bunch of others, including a series called Myriad Celestia, and a bunch of animated shorts
Acheron is an alternate to "our" Mei.
The girl in the commercial is supposed to be Robin, a character that will be released on the next version and already got drip marketed and appeared in game (Quite pretty) and is actually a Collab between a makeup brand - you can even find the Collab trailer separatedly... being honest it doesn't look like Robin to me, but... whatever thats not the important part.
Explaining why the AD actually is relevant to this trailer, and to her story, is a giant spoiler.
In any case, shes not the same, doesn’t know about the other one afaik. Her Myriad Celeste trailer is pretty good at showing a bit of it, the game does some other stuff in both story and character lines.

@@cry-o1436 I mean, not always make up is meant to disguise lol. But thats not the problem. Its the way the animators drew her, it looks like a completly different character.
There is two people in the Colors ad. The one at the end is Robin and the second one with horns is a different girl either Acheron in the past or someone from her species. Also they had different eye color and wings are a part of the Robin body structure I think.

the audio for the trailers are so low but i'm happy to see yet another person react to the trailers lol, i didn't know she did the beta test for HSR.
Glad your checking out Star Rail, its going to be a blast. As for Acheron or Star Rail Mei, we don't have the full story but it seems this is a Mei that went through a similar journey as Honkai Impact 3rd but, no Kiana. So check out the myriad celestia trailers and the other animated shorts, whether you do them now or as you play either works, whatever you prefer. May this journey lead us Starward.

Ah! The nostalgia of the beta test! I remember the time you streamed the 1st beta and the game was really bare bones. Immeditely starts at Jarilo VI and there was barely any voice lines.

the myriad celestia trailers are also a great shout, Fables about the stars pt 1 and ruan mei's one are my favourites. Rondo across countless kalpas is also a must watch!!
The Raiden Mei we see in Acheron's trailer is Acheron. She just got that ptsd but we still love her. The Myriad Celestia video shows a lot of more of her backstory and is easter egg heavy for HI3 fans.

Dang... Alicia jumping back into the Hoyoverse sphere. The great thing of you jumping into the game rn is its the first anniversary and you're coming in at a time where the story is at peak levels. Oh... and our boy Shaoji is involved with the story on the current planet... so there's that.
Anyways, looking forward to your first (and hopefully continued) playthrough of Star Rail. I have a feeling you'll enjoy this more than you think.

I think the best way to think about multiple of the same person is as a doppelganger on a universal scale. Someone who may look similar to you (and in Honkai case same name ) but is a totally different person its probably a bit more complicated than that but in simple term this would be the best mindset I think.

I just started playing star rail about 2 weeks ago, i hope i get to know and like the characters a fraction as much as you do, only a fraction though because after hearing loucha killed and doomed so many but you atill love him that much, I never want to be that downbad for characters.

I have an old ass play through from 3 years ago but I’d have to dig to find it. Old story was Seele is so aggressive and yelling because people were literally dying and turning into stone around her. Which caused some people to resort to human experimentation to save themselves from the effects of the mines. Which is how hook’s dad dies. Now he just gets sick and we take him to Natasha. In CBT1 on hook’s birthday he dies and his final words are to our character and we have to talk to hook after.

i recommend checking out the myriad celestia trailers, animated shorts, and penacony trailers at some point! they add a lot to the characters, story, and lore, and are also just visually stunning!!
So the person applying the makeup in Acheron's trailer is another major character called Robin, either with dyed hair or a wig (her hair is normally much lighter), and it's basically a cosmetics ad (that Hoyoverse released the full video for on their UA-cam channel). There are HI3 references in the latest story (not surprising, we have Welt in the game), but she is definitively not Mei, just as the Bronya and Seele of Belobog are nothing like their counterparts in HI3 beyond appearance. As a HI3 captain, there's honestly too much grasping at straws by some in the community, to the point where Shaoji came out and said, 'Nope, not her.' But yes, Welt definitely has interesting interactions with certain characters, let's just say. I really am looking forward to seeing more of his story on his adventure with the Astral Express.

Sparkle is joker if he was gender bent, and hot. Also if you like the drop in the Monodrama trailer, check out Infected Mushroom's music, it's the same style of drum and bass and amazing. Also a fun note is that the "vocal" parts of the song in the trailer changes based on what language it's in. I think they had the different VAs do the humming and singing, as well as the laugh.
Not sure if this is accurate, but I'm wondering if Mei and Acheron merged and they have a bit of a split personality thing going on now.
