Mbbs is a basic/bachelor medical degree, the do specialization after mbbs, Psychiatrist is not just an mbbs doctor as you said, they are MD doctors, MD is a master degree after mbbs, the duration of mbbs is five and half yrs and MD is 3yrs.

Psychiatrist also should't do surgeries, only neurosurgeon can do. Psychiatrist not only deals with brain n it's functions ,they also deals with human mind. We shouldn't mingle the human brain and mind. Because neurologist also deals with brain and it's functions.
