- iMacros is a freemium plugin that allows you to record a task you perform repeatedly in a browser, and then play it back the recording in a loop to repeat the task as if it were being automated (by a wizard). This is hugely helpful in known repetitive tasks, especially at work, where you may need to go to a website and export multiple files throughout the site on a regular cadence

This one automatically organizes music album files into their respective and automatically created folder. And it does this for all the alubms. So amazing to see it execute and do it all automatically. Hopefully I have this walk through video for other users and anyone who is interested in Windows Automation. Can I use that to open links to the new taps, opperate on the new-open page then close it and go back to the first page and repeat the loop over and over? Is that too much task for iMacro?
Pretty sure you can, but you'll need to build in wait time on stuff, because some web activities take a long time to process and it screws stuff up
Yeah even I wanted to do the same thing like you can download an extension called pop-up free so it opens links on new tabs
Anyone know how to make it copy and paste sequential cells from a Google sheet into a different tab. Need it to move down one row every action so as not to repeat the same cell

I have been using a 3rd party piece of software that is no longer free but I learned how to manipulate the timing and since its older it tracked the spot on the screen where your mouse clicked as in a coordinate on the X and Y plane so I learned how to manipulate that also and could download 6 webpages per minute and do several things with that page and archive the info as I needed it. This appears to use DOM information which may be a better deal bu still need to slow things down with slow internet speed which I am use to, will give this a try and it looks like it can come in handy but I think It will not do everything my older software will do but really appreciate the link and tutorial. Will come in handy for sure. Need to test it outside of the browser such as copy part of the page and paste it to a word doc??
This only works in a browser. If you want to control windows, use AutoHotKey.

I guess because I am loggin into an intranet backend it's blocking the record some how. Nothing records (no input boxes, clicks, etc)

7:22 The added comment was not a glitch, but somebody just added a comment on your website, hence the number increase. iMacros are great, I used to spam Kijiji, Used.com, and Craigslist back in the day when they let you add links in postings to your website. I was selling posters through Art.com. I think I made $20 and studied iMacros for about 200 hours ...... I spammed them so much until Google sandboxed my website...lol. To their credit they did give me about three warnings about my inappropriate behaviour. Cheers and thanks for the video.

So you cant be on another tab on the same browser however you can just minimize your browser the automation will continue and you can use another browser to do your work

I have a button, I can't press it until after typing in a specific field, and this field when I type in it manually, the button is activated and I can click on it, but when I make the micro-write in the box, the button is not activated and I can't click on it. Is there a solution to this problem and is there a code A specific one that I can use to make the field activate when I type in it with a micro, as if I typed it manually. Thank you in advance

Great video! I was wondering which would be the CODE for when the UI VISION runs but there's no Internet so the Macro doesn't stop and WAITS till there is internet, that way if internet goes off and then back up supose in an hour Macro is still good and no need for me to manualy restart it. Is this possible? Would appreciate the help. Thanks!

is it possible to set variables and calculate with them using imacros? Like what if during the auto program im trying to achieve the input text varies with each page load? (its about calculating math exercises)

Amazing stuff. Tried it and it worked but stopped at the 4th loop. Do you have an idea why?
how many iterations did you put in? it might be set at default to three or four. or it could be that took longer in processing so it tried to go to the next step when it wasnt done and got all stopped up
Can it visit websites in loop repeatedly for traffic gain?
I'd imagine it would... but it would be visits from the same ip address and for the same odd duration of time... so depending on why you want to inflate traffic it may not help since it looks like a bot

I'm sorry I'm not sure... But usually if you write out your scenario in Google and end it with imacros that was the only way I could track stuff down

Holy hell. Very damned useful. And a great video. Don't know how I stumbled upon your video. Glad I did. -- I recently came across another, kinda similar but different tool, that's built into Windows. It's called "Steps Recorder." You can just hit the search icon in bottom left corner, and type in "Steps Recorder." It's built, really, for when your IT guy says "Tell me EXACTLY what you did that caused this (or fixed this). It records keystroke for keystroke the actions -- much like this macro -- and then gives you a printable report (for the IT guys). Steps Recorder. And thanks for the great video about iMacros -- and the ten-second wait!!!

err... not really sure on either. guessing you can't run multiple at the same time. for that maybe python/selenium with threading? (that obviously scraps the no need for coding part -- and would be easy above my head)

to be honest I'm not sure... to use it i basically thought about what steps i needed and just googled imacros, that step, and the browser i was using

Pro Tip: Remove the second line of the code, open the comments page and see an increase the speed of your script 😉

@@pochaash2 I suppose it is because the second line just loads the webpage. Since you can do that yourself, and after performing the 'remove comments' action it is still on this webpage, you wouldn't have to load it again. The loading of webpages is actually really heavy so that's why you get a major speedup

Im guessing you can put wait 5 or so seconds in between lines so it doesn't have to loop
not sure if those are mutually exclusive, you should be able to do both

How would one automate tasks and clicks in any program not just chrome? Is there a good freeware for this? Or is it worth upgrading to payware?
this is the extent of what I've done with imacros....i have since moved to selenium/python with the various browser drivers.. that is higher than my coding capabilities though, so I'm copying and pasting and using UA-cam tutorials a lot. but it's free and flexible

Did you know, you can click Screen Options in WordPress and change the default number of items per page from 20 to 9999999999 then you can delete all. You probably already know this and was just showing us how Imacros works but thought I'd mention it as I only recently just found the screen options.
