    Some of the assets used in this reenactment are not 100 % historically accurate. Il-14 transport plane is represented by B-26. Canberras used here are not recon variants but bomber. These are not mistakes but approximations and there's no need to 'correct' them. Also, I am aware that the word 'lieutenant' is (for some reason) pronounced 'left tenant' in British English and there's no need to comment on that either. Thank you!

      There is a reason why it is pronounced like that in British English; we are not French.

      @PappaBear_yt I'm not an expert on the US language so couldn't really speculate why they pronounce it like the French.

    If, as I hope, you cover all of the 1956 conflict, including the Anglo-French attacks on Egypt, then things are going to become eventful and complicated.
    But well done so far!

    • @showtime112
      @showtime112  25 днів тому +2

      The plan is to focus primarily on the conflict between Israel and Egypt but as far as technical conditions allow, there will be details of the British and French involvement. By that, I mean primarily the lack of adequate map in War Thunder (and adequate aircraft in DCS).

    Un sujet qui m'a longtemps interrogé et sur lequel j'ai finalement quelques éclaircissements grâce à votre chaîne. J'attend la suite avec impatience.
    Je suis français et d'origine polonaise et j'aimerais proposer de revenir sur la campagne qui a mis le feu aux poudres et déclenché la 2e guerre mondiale, à savoir la campagne de Pologne. Je sais que les pilotes polonais sont courageusement montés au combat en sachant leurs machines dépassées
    et en forte infériorité numérique. Mais ils se sont bravement défendu et certains ont réussi quelques succès dont il est peut-être possible de retrouver la trace.
    Un nouveau sujet sûrement plus compliqué à réaliser du fait de l'ancienneté des évènements outre les archives polonaises qui ne doivent pas être très nombreuses à la suite d'une telle déroute.
    Je soumet cette idée à votre réflexion et vous laisse juge de sa faisabilité.
    En tous cas, merci pour la qualité de vos mise en scène et longue vie à votre chaîne !!

      @showtime112  22 дні тому

      Thank you very much for this elaborate comment! I agree that the battle for Poland is a fascinating subject which requires a lot of attention. My problem is of technical nature. The airplanes flown by Polish pilots are not available in the simulations I use. Hopefully, that will change someday. In the meantime, I might cover some of their experiences from the later part of the war, fighting in France and for the RAF.
      Thank you again and keep watching!

    You made great progress from your first videos since you have added archive footage and music so comparing the before and after shows great progress. You should be proud of yourself.
    At 4:08 you show the pilot turning his head around to see his back seater gives you an in depth look into the cockpit making it more realistic. Wonderful job!
    This was a great idea to make dogfights about the Suez Crisis because I watched one documentary entitled : Suez A Very British Crisis - Episode 2 - Conspiracy and at 52 minutes and 9 seconds Gamal Abdel Nasser said that the Israelis didn't have jet fighters.
    It is good you corrected this historical inaccuracy.
    I have some questions :
    1- Do you know when you will start making videos about the aerial victories of Iran’s F-4 Phantoms?
    2- Have you ever thought about returning to make episodes about the dogfights of the Russian Invasion of Ukraine?
    Remember, your objective is to make the videos just like the Dogfights series from the History Channel. That is what you're doing: gaining experience and perfecting your knowledge and skills with each video you post.
    Keep up the good work!

    • @showtime112
      @showtime112  22 дні тому

      Thanks for another elaborate comment. I'm glad you like that look back from the Meteor pilot, It just felt like the right thing to do.
      I'm not sure why Nasser would have said something like that. His own jets had clashed with Israeli jets (and lost) several times before the war began.
      As for your questions, Phantoms in Iran-Iraq War might be a topic relatively soon but I'm still unsure. The Iraq map for DCS was released but for now, only the northern part. The rest should be released in several months so, if I find some good mission that takes place in northern Iraq, I'll cover it.
      Regarding the Ukrainian War, it is in the long term plan but I'm hoping for some serious analysis to come up. These things usually take years to sort out.

    FYI, Abdel Hakim Amer was an absolute disaster for Egypt. He was President Nasser's right-hand-man and in 1953, he was promoted from Major to Major-General, bypassing the ranks of Lieutenant Colonel, Colonel and Brigadier and the 15 to 20 years of experience that goes with those ranks. So, in 1967, you now have not just a full General but a General of three Arab Armies who should have been no higher thank full Colonel. That's the main reason why Egypt in particular lost in 1967 - because Egypt was more interested in promoting people out of loyalty, not expertise so they didn't lose because of Israeli superiority.

The United States is considering that same choice at this very time. Most of us know it *sounds* stupid. But I hadn't realized that someone actually conducted the experiment and got real results.

    Look at Marshal Amer’s sad expression,
    a face you can only feel sorry for.
    By coincidence,
    ‘amer’ means ‘bitter’ in French.

      For one thing, there's the link to it in the description of this video. Also, in the final seconds of it, you can click on one of the suggestion cards which will open it. And if you just type '1956 suez air war' in YT search engine (or even Google) it will come up too. Don't know what else I could do.....
