Interesting video, definitely the most expensive part of both of our projects. I started with a fresh CSL block and its still thousands in gaskets, bolts, Schrick cams etc
Agreed. The prices for things on the S54 is crazy. Glad i'm doing it now before BMW pushes the prices up even more.
Honestly, best bang for buck would probably be running a simple M54B2x engine and just abusing it.
@@heelandtoe_ Watching this I'm pretty glad I didn't get an e46 m3 because I didn't want to do an S54 rebuild and got a BRZ instead, but the joke is on me because last month I had to buy a brand new short block. Keep up with the great content, cheers!
@@heelandtoe_ Unfortunately the S54 is now also categorised under ‘BMW Classic’ which means everything is crazy expensive...

I purchased my M3 from uk around the same time. Similar progres.you came with spin bearing. I xame with blown headgasket between cylinders... but you make faaarbetter videos... GJ

Warum plant man beim Wechsel der Zylinderkopfdichtung nur den Zylinderkopf und nicht auch den Block? Ist ja dann nur eine von zwei Dichtflächen🤔

Natürlich wieder ein super Video! Mir gefällt besonders, dass du sinnvolle Nachfragen stellst und nicht versuchst dich mit deinem Wissen gegenüber deinem Gesprächspartner und den Zuschauern zu profilieren.
Zwei Sachen hätten mir anders besser gefallen: Der Fokus ist irgendwo auf der Werkbank, nicht auf euch/dem Motor, wenn ihr erklärend hinter dem Motor steht.
Außerdem frage ich mich, ob es sehr viel mehr Arbeit gewesen wäre die Untertitel bei UA-cam zu hinterlegen? Dann hätten die deutschsprachigen Zuschauer sie deaktivieren können und es hätte nicht gestört. Das ist aber meckern auf hohem Niveau.
