Fox R3 Camo Bedchair & R3 Camo Sleeping bag Initial thoughts?

- I have reached the point in life that I needed a decent bed to support my crippled body. I used to sleep on a JRC Cocoon bedchair but it is a bedchair suitable for lighter people than me I cant manage any longer than a night on it without ending up in more pain than I normally tolerate on a daily basis so needed something with more lower lumbar support.
I had a choice of three bedchairs the R3 the Avid memory foam one and the Nash 4 legged all singing all dancing one that weighed a metric ton infact it weighed so much the thought of lifting the bugger made my back sore so I went with the R3.
Initial thoughts I like what I see the bedchair feels solid enough and its not the heaviest out of the three options and I will admit I do like the colour, fitting the sleeping bag to the chair was easy its held on by a central strap and two elastic hoods one at each end so its held on pretty securely. The bag has the baffles so the zip could be left open and the bag should retain heat. Its rated as a 5 season bag so it should do the job for my winter requirements. The Zips are good and they have clips to keep them zipped up so you can have one side open and the other clipped up so it wont open.
I like what I see the RRP on the R3 bedchair & Bag is RRP £224.99 for the chair and £139.99 for the bag

I happily recommend the tackle shop Fishing Tackle & Bait, www.fishingtackleandbait.co.uk/ in Enniskillen Northern Ireland. It’s my local shop it’s the sort of place I can go in and ask if they will order two different types of chair which they did I then picked one and bough it, not only was this not a bother to them they even matched the cheapest internet price for the chair I chose, David and the guys in FTB frequently bend over backwards to go that extra mile to help folk out.
I'm not sponsored by any of the above companies everything I have on the bank with me is something I’ve paid out my own pockets for it.
If you have any specific questions about the fishing tackle I use then feel free to ask me in the comments below this video or you can come on over to my other Social Media Platforms.

Hey Joe thanks for the comment buddy glad your enjoying the videos hope your staying safe mate
Looks like a great bit of kit 👍🏻👍🏻 can’t wait for you to do an over night session 🤩
New hair style or lack of hair 😂😂suits you really well
The shaved head reduces wind resistance and makes me a faster sexual Tyrannosaurus hahaha
Hi big stuff great hair cut bud an that set up looks way to comfy you wont want to get out of it 😂 cheers for sharing mate tight lines.. WATP
As long as the bed supports my wrecked back I'll be a happy angler amego I've missed the longer sessions.
I’m glad for you
Cheers amego I'll be back on the bank doing overnight sessions
Completely agree with you on the plastic, pal. Great set up and kit you have in the man cave
Cheers buddy glad your enjoying the videos
Looks class David you may get out now for an overnight session because when the new addition to your family arrives you won't be aloud out.😂😂😂
Oliver ill be taking the little bugger with me on a fishing adventure so the wife can get a bit of a rest.
I can't wait to meet the new arrival.
Nice one
Cheers amego glad you enjoyed the video buddy.
Good initial review. Get 3 of me in that bag buddy lololol Have the R3 bed which is excellent . But had another sleeping bag.
It will be road tested this winter for the Pike Fishing.
Let's see if it keeps me warm.
Hi David
The bed and bag look pretty good, Fox is quality kit so you carnt go wrong with it to be honest, wish you all the best with it
Actually i think you got it to sleep in the garage when the baby arrives hahaha
Take care stay safe regards to Mrs S and keep it lit.👍 my friend.
I had a choice of three different beds a Nash on that weighed a absolute ton then the Avid memory foam one and it was daft money so I went with the Fox R3 and I have to admit I'm impressed with the quality of it.
David when the pike season is over do you take all your rods apart and store them separately or just leave them in the rod bags make up until October when it starts again. Cheers Ollie
I break them down give them a good clean then I rip off the old mono and get the reels sent off to get serviced so everything is ready to rock and roll next year.
Hey! Got my R2 today and I‘m pretty hyped about it. What is your opinion after one year about your R3 and how good is the sleeping bag? Is it warm enough for cold nights? Cheers buddy!
I am very very impressed with mine it's more comfortable than my bed at home amego.
I got the sleeping bag and overwrap for it to turn it into a five season system it's really good
@@DavidScobie Thanks for your feedback mate, have a great day :)
Hi David, done any nights on it yet. Does the bag stay secure on the bed. Cheers Shaun
Yes I've slept on it and it's easily one of the best bedchairs I've ever used I would happily recommend it.
Hi I have one of them and the flatliner top class stuff I have them out in -5 and no problem just remember a hat
Fox beds are decent amego and they don't kick the arse out the price I had a look at a Nash one and jesus wept it was heavy and very painful on the old wallet
To the price is good and ther gear has come along way I have alot of ther stuff and I am very happy whit it
I'll be doing a longer term testing / review of it in due course if it's gash I'll be sure to tell you.
Hello im currently looking at the R3 sleeping bag would you recommend it? You said it's for fat people isnt the 3 meaning 3 season?
It's a cracking sleeping bag mate it's a recommendation from me
So ten months on what’s your thoughts on the bed pal ?
It's more comfortable than my bed in my house
proper strong bedchair, if it can take my 45 stone fat ass it can take anything!!! god bless fox steel bedchairs!!! only wish the legs where taller, when he legs are extended I trashed them cos they wasnt strong enough, trakker and nash both make tall beds, fox should too!
I like fox chairs I've the recliner deluxe and it's a cracking chair.
When this lockdown shit is all sorted amego you'll have to get yourself a holiday across to the Erne for a spot of Pike fishing
@@DavidScobie yeah once I am on my feet mate, defo, we (me and my friends plan on coming) we always used to come once a year in apirl/may. But as you know I havent fished in 15 months and its killing me... yeah I have the same chair in camolite! beast of a chair, but so comfortable
I'll get my local tackle shop to order in a bedchair bag and see if it takes the r3 bedchair.
You'll soon be back out on your feet and fishing soon amego
Whats the weight limit on it David?
No idea but knowing someone who's over 30 stone and it's supported him on the bank I think it will support slimmer men.
Love the Vid. Where you going to do your first overnighter brother?
It will be in the autumn when I start the Pike Fishing again.
I need to sort out some other stuff for the bivvy sessions
I like to do camping fishing trips but god that gear is just too bulky 😂 need a van to be carting that gear around
It's why I have a van and a nice big barrow to move gear to the swim
Loving your channel and vids mate. As far as your new 'no-hair-style', suits you mate. Although wen you're wearing your shades, i recon you look like one of the ZZTOP rock band, or a 'Hells Angle' 1%er. Eitherway, as cool as f$#k. Jmo. Nice one mate.
Cheers.
Mick.
Hey Mick thanks for the comment buddy glad your enjoying the videos, chicks love the beard hahaha
@@DavidScobie nice one mate, and yes i bet they do. Lol lol.
Cheers David.
Mick.
Looks a very nice bit of kit if u fish overnighters or longer its a must to have a decent sleep system or u are in trouble being cold or uncorfortable etc just makes it impossible to enjoy your fishing i do very few day sessions now its all 48hr or 72hr sessions so a decent bedchair is essencial or i couldnt go enjoy your new bedchair bud i look forward to seeing some night session videos from u cheers scobes love the flag by the way tightlines
I liked it because it had a lot of lumbar support so it should hold my wrecked back I had a JRC cocoon bedchair it was cracking but since wrecking the back I needed extra support and the fox r3 was pretty close to perfection
@@DavidScobie yes mate it looks a lovely sleep system
Proper man cave
Thanks amego
Nice that scobes! You will soon be a full time carper 😂😂
If there was carp here in NI then I'd be going for them but there's not that many places to go for Carp sadly.
Actually the worst review I've seen....
You didn't show the bedchair fully once...
Supposed to be a about the bedchair not you crackling on about nothing
