- After a long wait we finally get our hands on the latest 2.4 liter Subaru BRZ, and out test car came with a 6-speed automatic, which is just as well, because it offers a solution for those who want a sporty car but still need to commute through our daily traffic jams in the city.
So our city driving woes being over, we also needed to see how it performs on our favorite mountain.

The Auto is not so slush box judging from the sound of it - better ratio and no gear hunting compared to most Aisin AT

The underpinnings are the same so it is similar. I think each nrand does their own customisation on ride and handling and there may be slight differences depending on their individual set up preferences as to which part of the ride/handling spectrum each one chooses to be.
I already won this car but I love other people enjoying it as well. Such a blast on twisty roads!
You need to mirror the backcamera to make it less confusing.

In the suspension. BRZ softer for daily driving. 86 stiffer. Can go read up.

Not too sure but it sounded raw.

Minimum is 93Octane so it can run RON95.

Brother, just wondering why you never use sunglasses even when the sun is in your eyes.
Because when the sun is not in my eyes it can be dark with many shadows. Whilst the sun dazzles me for a couple of seconds I drive for like 18 minutes in shadowy areas.
However, if a sunglass maker wants to sponsor me.....😀
Very good drive the dc5 is a faster car. Brz has better driver
If only the Aisin 6pseed AT would've come with a 4.1 or even 4.3 final drive. It could've been faster than the MT6, but as it is the AT is a lukewarm experience compared to the manual. All those extra safety system stuff are completely unnecessary, I mean... if someone does want a car like this I think they have some form of competence when it comes to driving.
I think it does quite all right for people who also need a daily driver. We don't need a race car - we just need a good handling car with good power and is fun to drive.
@YSKhongDriving yea... downsshift is the issue of the automatic. Long gear is the other. But for the price, It would be justified to get one manual gr86 and one auto brz lols.. what do you think, uncle? Btw I am auto brz 2023 owner, also own a mx5 nd1 soft top manual. :D
such issue can always be mitigate with ECU tuning and that's the fun about JDM.
Manual is fun as a daily driver but when you do get stuck in peak hour traffic you wouldn't like to 3 > 2 > 1 then shift 1 > 2 then stop then shift again.
But it all boils down to personal preferences and even the new 2024 GR Yaris comes as recommended with a 6AT by the development team & Akio Toyoda "Morizo" himself.

Subaru BRZ / Toyota FT86 both car look like a fast car even in reality they isn't fast .
Luckily the car engine didn't blow-up as most cars I seen .

Best looking car wld still be the Honda S2000/NSX, Nissan GTR/fairlady.
Between this car and the honda type R FK8 , which car is faster going up getting ...both car driving by you. How abt coming down ?
The FK8R has about 50 horsepower more and has higher torque due to the turbo engine. In a straight line the FK8R would be faster. In a corner, driving skill does matter. Downhill, the BRZ would be very agile
I wonder if that DC5 driver knows who wasnin the BRZ...
