Great video! Is it a good idea to caulk around the cover plate to prevent water from going behind from the shower? I did have a hard time understanding that you were saying "cartridge". When I Googled the part I searched for "cockridge"!! LOL!!! 🤣🤣🤣 No big deal, I eventually figured it out. Thanks again for the great video! SUPER HELPFUL!!
Good instructional video. Thanks. You should've cleaned that cover plate before reinstalling it. 😁 Baking soda or vinegar. Give it a good scrub. Or you can soak it in a CLR and water solution.
Nice video. This is exactly what I am doing so I ordered the same lever handle. The cartridge was easy, thought I was going to be able to head to the bar for an early happy hour but, the handle will not stay in either the on or off position. Did you have any issue with that? I took the cartridge back to HD and got a new one thinking maybe the one I got was bad but, the new one is the same. I can turn the hot/cold valve, whatever it's called, with my fingers and easily at that. Thanks for your time.
So if i understand it right, this is only going to make the later handles adaptable to the standard old valve, but does not do anything to the plessure balancing that was not available in the old valves. Can you please confirm? thanks.
balancing spool is a separate unit but a integral part of the 1225 valve body which uses the 1225 (12801) cartridge, the cost of just cartridge is about 25 dollars...if your valve has e.g. just hot water, you may need to unstick the #1423 spool or replace it...the 1222 cartridge used in the pos-temp valves are about 60 dollars because the balancing spools are in those cartridges
Excellent video. Saved me from having to get a plumber!
Wonderful vid! Clear instructions. Excellent camera shots. You're a pro in both areas!
Thank you 😃

Did you need to close the central water? During the process
Hi, yes you’d have to turn off the main
still need push pull with new one. I though just turn without pull
Exactly. I want something literal with the title
