Hey thanks for watching the video!
Jan, can't help but remark about the elevated art in video editing and colorization of the twilight on the fields at day's end. Great photography, fine composition and very enjoyable views of the Sask'w'n prairies. Nicely done.
Good looking steers 🐄 👀 great side hustle
Makes me hungry!
Always good to see this great harvest. The straw will be a blessing for years to come. So glad when your videos drop Jan. Thanks for them.
The fact there is always one or two cows that claim their 10 seconds of fame by stopping to check out the camera never gets old.❤
Awesome drone shots in the sunset!
Glad your crops are producing so much bounty. Love to see the smile on your face.
I don't watch TV, but I have a decently large model to watch Blu-Ray movies. Recently I decided to buy a cable and hook my TV directly to the internet and your video was the first one I watched! It was like Canadian Geographic goes farming. Drone footage during the sunset was totally on point. Thank you.
So glad to see more videos from you!
The best, keep it up. Harder you work, the luckier you get.
I really enjoy these videos Jan. Thank you so much for making them available!
Jan, good video . More calves to give milk to . How many more calve stalls you our get out of adding on to calf barn?
That is a smart idea to store the gates that our not damaged between those to barn’s.
Great harvest, Jan. Happy for you and your family. Yes, winter comes fast, and there is much to do. Your videos get better and better. Truly enjoy the flow from subject to subject showing the wide range of work to be done. Thank you for being a great teacher.
Those shots of the combine with the sunset were top notch. Wouldn't look out of place in a movie. Well done.
Another great video Jan, I really enjoy yours and your sisters content. Proud Canadian 🇨🇦🇨🇦
I'm so glad you are doing videos again. Love seeing you and anything to do with the farm. How many days do you have off when your not harvesting? What do you like to do when you are not working? I know travel is one.
Some other things that he likes to do is workout at his home gym, play his Xbox and sit on his front porch.
Great video 👍once all is done before winter, would be nice to see the whole family sitting down for a celebration dinner!!! Happy for you all 🌾 on a great crop season!
Jan, I really appreciate your channel. I worked on several dairy farms in my youth. The largest one was 500 head of registered Holsteins, milking 275 twice a day. I was privileged to feed the young calves daily (50 hungry young cuties bellowing "mama" every day). I sure do envy your calving setup. So organized, easy to clean, and bright. The removable panels, beautiful. Every possible problem recognized and solved. WOW!!
I am blessed seeing the tremendous relationships between you and Dad, Mom, and sisters. The first time I head you say "the Ladies" I couldn't help but laugh. You guys are in a class of your own. I enjoy telling about your channel with others. I have prayed for y'all many times as I enjoyed your episodes, asking my God to bless you and your crops through the drought times and rough weather. I was praising Him for the great bounty you are receiving this season. I like your attitude, your tremendous imagination for repairing and solving the problems come your way. I am 71, barely walking sometimes, but watching your daily experiences makes me greatly wish I was younger and could pitch in and help. Oh, did I mention, besides feeding the calves daily, most of my day was scraping, shoveling, forking, loading the tandem spreader by hand, and spreading certain by-products on the farthest field I could find. Driving the Deere 4020 with dualies was the most fun of that daily chore.
Oh, yes, the drone shots of your farm layout are the greatest, showing all the planning and imagination that has gone into your beautiful family farm. May God continue to bless your family. Keep up the great work.
Good job guys it amazes me when the cows spot the cameras and smell of it.
Always enjoy what ever you find to post for us to see and listen to you tell us about what is going on and all the best of your crops.
Great video and - I've commented before - you have a great eye for video. Your drone shoots are invariably superb.
Hello Jan, thanks for a new video. I just want You to remember cut off the bolts in the new gate. Just for safety. Hello from Denmark.
Bet he never thought about that😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@daveklein2826 Maby He will, but perhaps too late.
I love it that yer crops are so good this year!! That is so awesome!! Yer satisfaction and happiness makes me happy.
Loved the ladies that checked out the camera up close, adorable. Another great video, thanks Jan
Those cows seem to find your camera no matter where you put it, I have to laugh every time they stick their big noses up to it. You guys hit the jackpot with crops this year, what a blessing.
Great video brother from the imperial county ca 🚜
Great Video!
Thanks my friend for the new episode, amazing! 👍
My family and I Really enjoy your work, quick video idea, something showcasing the animals them selves, largest by size or weight, smallest, best temper, worst temper, best producers, worst producers, 🤷♂️ I would enjoy watching something like that.
Great video! All the best to get it done before winter.
Great awesome video
you are the best….just love you, man. Great fam, beautiful area….Rob
Great camera work. Thank you for another excellent video.
as always,great video,Jan
Always enjoy your videos, Jan.
Awesome update 👍🏻🇨🇦💪🏻
Another very interesting video Thank you 😊😊😊😊
always nice video material!
Enjoyed a lot!!!❤❤❤
I said on 10th generation dairy Man channel that although he plants corn that you do not because of the potential for frost damage. It got me thinking now I wonder if there is a timeframe where you could plant it like earlier maybe I don’t know or is it just too risky any time
It’s very interesting to see everything going on the farm. It’s beautiful country up there and I’m glad it’s sunny for you at this time.
Great job
Also maybe when things slow down in the winter could you do a video on the classification and breeding program? Like what bulls you use I believe your Semex? Just a overview of your farms thoughts saw on one of your sisters video's a little and was shocked you do have more Ex cows? Seen enough between yours and her's pretty damn nice heard of cows which I believe is common in Canada with the quota system can't mass produce milk
Another good job.
good job!
excellent!!
You tend to have a very clean milking parlor.
Jan love watching the cows reactions some are in a hurry some are going to drag there feet
GOOD MORNING GREAT VIDEO
Those steers should be drawing some nice money now. Beef here in the states is as high as I've seen it in a long time.
Really enjoyed this video. Thanks!
What is your average weight on the steers seems you feed them out pretty heavy?
1400-1500 pounds
Does anyone else who does similar work to Jan think, man, it would be nice to have your strength!
Are you keeping all your grain for feed or will you be selling some as well? Good to see you having a good year.
Watch his last video
@@daveklein2826 and where in that video did he talk about what they’re doing with all the grain? It’s none of my business but I’m just watching and wondering what’s going to happen with all that grain.
He CLEARLY said in the last video that they were filling silos at another farm they own that have Been empty for years
@@daveklein2826 still doesn’t explain what will happen to the extra grain, is it being stored there for feed or will it be sold?
OMG ARE YOU REALLY THAT STUPID......I REALLY CAN'T DEAL..... WITH YOUR IGNORANCE
Theres farmers say well im not in the business to raise steers or bulls im here to make money milk cows raise a good crop,,but if you think of it it does not cost or take that much mote time ,,,we would raise our steers and like you said its a real nice pay check you where not expecting,,to pay for lunchs trips or seed parts for tractors
It takes alot more to add steers to the operation..... Please get educated
@daveklein2826 then you are not set up for steers
Enjoyed the video.
The girls say "This is MOOOVULOUS !!!" Moo Cow Inner Dialogue "What is this funny little contraption, am I on Camera ?? MOOVULOUS, please get my good side !!"
Bumper Crops, that's what we like to hear. Winter is coming in different places and not all at once, it seems. Nose to the grindstone, and work like ya mean it, right ??
Well Done Jan, and the entire farm team.
I would cut the end to them bolts off. So It don't take an Eye out.
Wow bet he never thought about that
Income from steers will help pay for the combine tire
Wish I lived up that way, I'd offer to drive a grain truck or something.....
Thank for the video
All signs say cold will come soon snow will be early and heavy this year.
A few diva Cows want their co-starring appearances on camera too! 😆
Hey Jan, what method do you use to castrate the bull calves?
An elastic band
We feed a lot of Holstein Steers we had to be care full so they didn’t rub they backs in transportion and get docked by the backer so we went to a stright trailer
Lots of love from afghanistan❤❤❤
How many straw bales are you going to have? What's your weekly straw usage?
Nice video and god bless
Great video Jan! Are you not concerned about driving a gas powered vehicle onto a cereal crop stubble? Lots of fires have been started that way as the catalytic converter under a vehicle gets unreal hot and takes nothing to light a field on fire. Most farmers I know will only drive a diesel vehicle onto a stubble field!
I was just wondering why is Brent the only one that drives the combine, Thanks for all the hard work!
Question would any of the steers end up in Ontario.
I believe no the steers will end up in sask or Alberta meat packers
👍
Things keep moving along at a steady pace. Before you know it harvest will be over. Is tge cheese production coming?
How long does it take you to finish your steers? From weaning to shipping?
About 15 months after weaning, with the use of growth hormones.
How much does one steer go for?
Not important
@@daveklein2826 mind your business
Nice
Jan can you send me plan of your main barn. Tnx
😂😂😂😂😂😂. Why?
@@daveklein2826 what is funny. I like it. I wanna build the same one.

Where's the Canadian champion milker today
barley bearded?
Or we could call it a bull wagon 😅😅
Are the brown cows Holstien too?
Yes. They're Red Holsteins.
What is a load of steers worth ?
Really none of your business
He covered the finances a couple of years ago: ua-cam.com/video/VAiZH2GzujM/v-deo.html However, numbers have probably changed a little by now.
❤#🇵🇰
robtic milkers in the future?
No, their long term goal it a rotary parlor.
Why not a two year test program of cross breeding with Angus? Use sexed semen for your top tier cows (ie. 50%) and the rest breed Angus? And as for needing a separate corral for cross bred heifers, just sell them at two weeks of age.
I am guessing he knows a whole lot more than you do....go back to your recliner
Jan, why didnt you cut off the gate pins...I can see those hurting a cow as they are always shoving eat other around...
Jan - do you ever get tired of manure in your boots, your pants, your pockets, your shirt, your hair, your eyes and your mouth? And all that leads to manure in your truck and in your house. I couldn’t do it, as much as I love cows and baby pigs - not 24/7/365 for 50 years!
But I’m sure glad y’all are good with it!

Jan, remember not all of your viewers are farmers. There are two types of cows, bulls and cows. No, dudes.
If he says there are Dudes, then there are Dudes

Sexed male beef ai sires is way to go & sexed female holstein... would also think that the beef heifers still more muscle and more desirable than a pure dairy steer. At least something worth experimenting
