    You give so much valuable info! You will be my research channel for when we get off of the West Coast... this looks like a fabulous campground.

    I posted on your video a few weeks ago when you camped at Big Lagoon State Park near Pensacola, FL. My wife and I were born and lived in Pensacola, Fl most all of our lives and have been to Big Lagoon and Blackwater State Park State Park many times over the years.. As I stated before we are now living in Southern California enjoying our retirement.... It was delightful seeing the sights of both parks in your videos and have really made us homesick. In our younger years we canoed and tubed Blackwater River with our sons and church youth group more times than we can remember. Thank you for sharing your time there.

      Hey - we are in Southern California too - do you have a Rpod?

      Paul, glad these reviews are generating the good memories. Hopefully you can get back to the Panhandle at some point and once again enjoy these great parks. All the best!

      @@TravelSmallLiveBig No, we don't have a camper.... We retired two years ago and moved here last August to be closer to our son and his family because of health issues both my wife and I have.... We spend a lot of time on line reading articles, watching videos and dreaming about camping.... If all goes well we hope to purchase a small camper sometime this year, depending on COVID, and visit local places of interests well as getting back to Pensacola, FL. My 93 year old mother is in a nursing home there and we want to visit with her as much as possible. Because of COVID our visiting her was limited since COVID began.

      Paul Morrell well welcome to California! We do a lot of camping in CA & OR so if you need any ideas, let us know! Good luck on seeing your mom - I can’t imagine how hard that must be for you during Covid.

    Does it get cold in winter ? How nice is hunting in this forest ?

    • @JohnMarucci
      @JohnMarucci  3 роки тому +1

      It can get to around freezing a few times in the winter but generally in the Panhandle it likely will be 40-50 degrees at night and 60-70 in the daytime in Dec-Jan. I have no idea about the hunting. I was only at the state park and I am fairly certain there is no hunting there. Here is a link to hunting in Florida: myfwc.com/hunting/

      @@JohnMarucci Are the forests better in the panhandle or in the Jacksonville area ?

      I haven’t been to the Jacksonville area to speak to about the forests

    Thanks for sharing! How far is it to town or the store?

    • @JohnMarucci
      @JohnMarucci  3 роки тому

      The closest big town is Pensacola. There are groceries closer that this, however. I see a Piggly-Wiggly on the map about 16 miles away near East Milton.

      @@JohnMarucci Best bet for groceries, clothes, supplies, food, etc., is probably east to Crestview...pretty much anything you'd need to buy, there. Great video, and stay safe!
