Aesculapian snakes, Midwife Toads, European Scorpions, Coatis in Cumbria, Red-necked wallabies, Wild goats in Wales. We have lots of oddities that shouldn't be here.
Skunks in ash down forest in East Sussex and there’s a lake in Southwater, West Sussex that has an alligator snapping turtle in it that’s gotta be at least 30kg, about the size of a car tyre. There’s a population of melanistic and albino roe deer down here in West Sussex too among other things that will leave you puzzled.
There are some big African spiders with big green fangs that live in the walls of Exeter Cathedral & have spread. I had two living in my house one winter. I also saw a crane on the river Dart at Totnes. They look like they are wearing a bustle. Apparently there is a breeding population in Somerset.
If you ever wanted to do a video (or just a walk) with Red Squirrels there's a population in Formby that are quite easy to spot, they aren't shy there like
Black squirrels near the Woburn area. I lived in near Houghton Regis and there was a few around the area I regularly saw . Apparently they escaped a private collection at the zoo
Nice video good luck for the 5 ultra rare animals. Also try European pond turtle, green lizard, great bustard, eagle-owl, common crane also may some exotick pheasants like the golden, green, reeves if you have chance, time or mood.
Sumpfschildköten sind in Deutschland fast ausgestorben aber Eidesen und blindschleichen gibt es viele in Deutschland und sogar Schlangen und man sieht auch durchaus graue und weisse Reiher weiße Storche Kraniche und Uhus
Cookie, I don’t know if game cameras are legal in the UK, but if they are have you ever considered getting one. Could definitely help you determine what mammals are active in a location.
You don’t like the big cat theory 😉 However, they did just find hard evidence there’s something here.. I can’t remember where it was that reported the recent incident ( it attacked livestock) But they did recover fur off a Barb fence that reportedly came back as a 99% match from a lab🤷🏽♂️
@Cookie i live in the village that is next to one of the largest populations of stick insects, its in South Devon and is absolutely incredible for other wildlife, but there is some stick insects
I wanted to see a muntjac in the wild for years, ever since I was a kid. I lived on the edge of the New Forest national park, and would spend hours going for walks in the woods looking for wildlife. Never saw a muntjac. Then one day about 6 years ago there was a knock at the door and it was an Amazon parcel being delivered, and as I stood on my own doorstep signing for a parcel, I saw movement out the corner of my eye and looked up to see a muntjac just casually strolling along the edge of the woods at the end of the cul-de-sac I lived in. Mad but magic moment for me that I'll never forget.
You can find red squirrels on the Isle of Wight too, I believe they don't have any greys there at all aswell as the white tailed Eagle have been released there too
Storks are majestic, here in Flanders, Belgium they are spreading over the whole region. It's a matter of providing good nesting opportunities like platforms on poles and rooftops,
Yeah these guys tout for Tasmanian Jackals and ignore the British Leopard 🤔 There's a lot of dirty politics going around the recognition of a native Big Cat in Britain. It's there and regularly spotted but government and media is in a state of absolute denial 🤔
Tring is only half an hour away from me! I’ll have to go and see if I can find one😊. Where I live you’ve only got to walk 5 mins and you will see muntjac everywhere. I used to work at a night club that bordered on to a forest and I’d come out of work and you’d see them milling around lol. I think they got used to seeing ppl as they weren’t as skittish as I think they’re meant to be.
Hey Cookie. Luv the channel. I'm from NZ and stick insects are getting harder to find here these days. I remember as a kid they were real common but what I've seen the European wasp is hammering them so bad that it's hard to even find one to show the kids.. cheers
go to letchworth garden city if you want to see red squirrels. mostly black but there's a fair amount of red that I barely took notice of them when I lived there
Orcas and Baskin sharks along with hammer head sharks can be found off the west coast of Scotland. Orcas are regularly seem between troon and greenock harbour. Far side of the Isle of Arran and the Isle of Craig hammer heads and baskins can be spotted. Regular dolphines and seals As well off this side of the coast
If u ever want to go on a cheap holiday, go to Lelystad in the Netherlands. Lots of otters, sea eagles, beavers, kingfishers and storks right when you ride into town. There is a free nature park where they breed lots of animals for rewilding Europe. Where they have boars, European moose, captive otters, Patrick David deer (not European) and more. Also lots of forrest and a famous park called oostvaardersplassen.
Great video dude. Correct me if im wrong but I thought gray squirrels wiped out the red ones not because of disease but because they have stomachs that can cope with unripe acorns and what happened was the red ones basically starved due to the gray ones eating everything before it was ripe? Really interesting to hear we have stck insects and and racoon dogs, have you looked into Britain having skunks living here now? Would be amazing if you could manage to video one. Im positive me and my friend saw one when we was younger, we recently looked it up online and turns out we've had skunks living in the uk since the 80s or 90s which pretty much confirmed for us that we really did see one all those years ago
What if you could capture a side by side of a muntjac and a Chinese water deer, or at least find them both in a single trip. I think it would be a nice comparison to show
Jay’s are my favourite British bird. My aunts house has a load of woodland out the back and she has a Jay visit her garden in the winter to eat the fat balls she puts out for the birds.
I had never heard of a Tanuki, but I think that explains the odd badger I saw years ago. I was driving across South Wales at the time. Cannot remember what county I saw it. Around mid 2000's. I now want a Tanuki...
I took a video of what looked at first glance like a grey squirrel, but it did not stop whatever it was doing, while at the KopHill Climb, which is near Princess Risborough. I have the video on YT if anyone wants to see one foraging in a tree. Best Dave
Iv seen muntjac in Cornwall on the outskirts by Devon iv also seen red ,roe an sika and fellow in Dartmoor and in SW Devon and iv seen a Baskin shark in Torbay. I love your content
Trying to film a muntjak deer is as hard as trying to film a big cat lol, You know they are there but cant see one when youve got your camera ready ,,, Epic vid, though, Cheers Cookie xx
I'm tired of the big cat bs why does every "footage" have to be recorded by someone using some shitty android phone. Like seriously I don't get it it's not that hard to capture it especially with good quality. There's still yet to see clear footage of them here. I'll believe it when I see it.
Have muntjack here outside of Peterborough see them often walking the dog first time i saw one i thought it was a runaway dog they are very fast and vanish as fast as they appear
There's plenty of muntjac deer where I live. and Roedeer. When I was a kid there was Roedeer in the fields and Woods Only. now the muntjac outnumber the Roedeer. My guess is they travel along the motorways. Where I live now is just across the other side of the motorway from where I used to live about a mile. The Fields across the road from me I often see both species of deer. But what I miss most is no skylarks singing any more. That field across the road from me hasn't changed in 60 years. Where are all the Birds
@@WildlifeWithCookie The late Don Merton was the hero of that one, along with the black Robin Old Blue. When I was a very young kid in England in the 60s I saw a red squirrel up close about 18 inches away through the branches. I think the location was the' New Forest'(?), I'd have to say it was as beautiful a mammal as I have ever seen . Very bright russet red with tufty ears! Seeing a large Southern Right whale up close from a wharf and a pod of 17 Orcas in NZ, are the other super memorable wild animal encounters I've had. I wish I had been able to record them.
If your looking for Chinese water deer, strumpshaw fen just outside Norwich, Norfolk me and my wife came face to face with one walking down the trail then it obviously bolted.
Cookie only just found your work, really enjoyed your style. Of all the 5 beasties I’d love to get a look at the raccoon dog. I do see Chinese deer regularly tho in Norfolk, drop me a line if you want the info.
Chinese water deer are not rare, far from it, I would say very common if you go to the right place. I know places where you can see many together on the same field. They also taste great.
You literally answered your own question 😂😂 if it’s rare then it’s only found in some places, it’s not like they are everywhere is it, so they are rare
@@Harrissssonnno I didn't and your logic or lack of it is staggering. All animals are found in some areas, how does this make them rare?! Just because you see an animal in one area and not in another area doesn't make them rare.

The last time I saw stick insects in NZ was 20yrs ago around Titirangi Village in the Waitakere Ranges, West Auckland. They lived on the Manuka plants just outside the village up the road to the west. I haven't seen a NZ native praying mantis in ages either. Perhaps one in 5 yrs or so. They have been taken over by the larger South African Mantis. I see more large migratory locusts than I used to and the larger varieties of native Cicadas are very loud right now. Been a few years since I've seen a large tree Weta too! Used to find them in the garden along with giant centipedes.

Another great video. Was great meeting you cookie and can’t wait to do more with you in the future!

Mmmmm that is all I have to say about this entity. ......
What about the British Leopard? And why the government and media is in the state of denial regarding its existence when it is commonly spotted??

I’ve heard of couple and seen a video of a snapping in uk, must be a decent amount of them here if they are found that frequently

There are loads in West Norfolk. I used to commute from Hunstanton to King's Lynn. A day not seeing a Muntjac was unusual.

Cookie, you needs to buy some HECS clothing, Forrest swears by them.
I would have never believed a raccoon dog was a real thing if you didn't have clear pictures. How adorable!
