    Damn good built built and designed right here in New Zealand! If they can handle the seas where we live and these boats are built then it'll go hard in any conditions overseas

      So true we have been caught in some rough conditions and I’m so thankful we bought this boat.

    Request: It is hard to find videos of the 2750 in sloppy seas. Next time you are crossing the channel, would you mind making a video, please? And again, thank you for the vid.

    3:55 is that a shock dampening? I’ve heard of the problem with their seats. I have a 2500 ultra on order.

    • @BADFISH4ME
      @BADFISH4ME  Рік тому +1

      no we just went with a simple pedestal. i actually like it better than any dampening one i have sat on so far. although... the stuff shox seats makes looks sick $$$$$$

    Nice upgrades, I wish Stabi could use these good ideas in their future models. Just a question, is it a problem to leave the aluminum in raw water for the whole season like the FG ones? Do you also bottom paint it? Thx

    • @BADFISH4ME
      @BADFISH4ME  2 роки тому +1

      We use sacrificial anodes on the boat and you just keep an eye on them and change them periodically. There is also a non-copper based self fouling bottom paint which helps keep the growth down. Boat has been slipped since built in 2020 with no issues so far. I pull it out a couple times a year for service

      For welded aluminum boats that stay in a slip you should bottom paint. The method is simple. Sand the hull, then use a metal etcher, then an epoxy layer such as interportect 2000e, then antifouling paint. The BIGGEST thing to remember is the anti foul as to be a NON-COPPER base as copper based will cause a battery effect and can lead to the aluminum corroding. The epoxy layer is actually more important then the ani-foul as barnacles be scraped off but the epoxy protects the hull from the electric current/cathodic effects.

    You are on shore power there, do you moor your boat 24/7 ? Have you had much corrosion? How fast are you going through zinc? What size and location are your zinc?
    Thanks in advance.

    • @BADFISH4ME
      @BADFISH4ME  2 роки тому

      I have zincs on the transom and they are prob 3 x 5" and zincs on the yamahas. I prob replace them once a month because we are in a slip. I haven't seen any noticeable corrosion and the boat has lived in the water since it was built.

    Nice review! Been looking into getting one of these for some time now. Out of curiosity, what is the fastest that you can go with the twin 150s and what's the speed and rpm at plane?

    • @BADFISH4ME
      @BADFISH4ME  2 роки тому +3

      Top speed is 38mph at 5700 rpm. Speed to plane is less than 2 seconds around 3500 rpm. Great cruising speed is 4400 rpm at 27mph. Nice tone to the Yamahas at that rpm.

      @@BADFISH4ME That's awesome. Would you ever upgrade to bigger engines in the future? And also just outta curiosity, do you know if the 2750 Stabi has a variable deadrise (deadrise at bow vs. deadrise at transom)?

      @@VJBILL1 if you end up getting a stabicraft don't pay extra for the paint it chips off so easily. Go with the standard paint and get it wrapped. Advise from my $7k mistake. Other than that it's a great boat.

      I know they are willing to work with you on customization of the hull and options, but it would take much longer to get the boat vs purchasing a boat from a dealer, or finding one used like we did. I am happy with the power it makes with twin 150s. When I have to repower it (hopefully 10 years from now) I would seriously consider the outboard diesel engines that are coming out. OXE makes some sick outboard diesels if you havent seen them yet. Coastguard small boats are staring to R & D them.

    I am not sure what happens when a stabicraft goes from New Zealand to the USA ?
    But from the videos I have watched made by Americans the boats seem inferior / sub standard to a stabicraft You buy here in Australia.
    It could just be the dealerships who sell them over there in USA ?
    Still good boats though.

    Looking at getting this same boat…what issues did you have with the Garmin Autopilot and steering?

    • @BADFISH4ME
      @BADFISH4ME  Рік тому

      We believe it was just trapped air that was causing the system to slip. All fixed. Some of the electronic steering that's coming out looks amazing

    Are you worried about stray currents in the marina attacking the hull?

    • @BADFISH4ME
      @BADFISH4ME  Рік тому

      It's grounded and bonded and we replace anodes often. Coast guard doesn't pull there boat out and they rock aluminum. This boat has never been outta the water since it was built. I bet it will last a long time.
