i find it kind of cute to know that even niche micro-communities like vintage brazillian mlp collectors have the same kind of dramatic sagas as bigger fandoms/hobby communities do. like we may be in vastly different spaces with their own expectations and histories, but one thing we all agree on is that baiting and scamming people is a real jerk move. that's the kind of solidarity that just makes me love people and communities even more 💖
Omg so cute! Estrela was (and still kinda is) a big toy company here in Brazil! They were responsible for 80's Barbies here, and also strawberry shortcake dolls!
omggg hii from brazil!!! i watch every video you make, its so relaxing! i love hearing you talk about anything and I loved the pony "drama", thank you so much! watching you makes me so happy
I just recently discovered your channel, but I have been binge-watching so many of your video and I absolutely love your content! I really enjoy listening to your commentary, both about what you are doing in the video and the pony you're working on, and also when you talk about other things like with your historical-inspired customs! Keep doing what you do!
Wow, thank you so much!! I'm really glad you enjoy the videos. I'm always scared of talking too much so it's always a relief when I read it's... Acceptable :P Hope you have a great day 🤗
I have been watching this channel for about 3 years and it has become a major inspiration for me. I had always wanted a g1 pony and after watching your videos I wanted to restore one so bad but I was two scared. In early 2024 I bit the built and bought bowtie who was my first pony restoration. Fast forward to the new year and I have restored a total of 8 ponies and found a hobby I enjoy more than almost anything I even got my sister into it!
The odd history of G1 all over the world is so fascinating to me- I feel like I always learn at least one new thing from your videos haha Also thank you for including my art ❤
I was excited to see all the items in your store. I had a pony, some hair, and a rerooting tool in my cart... then it told me it won't ship to Canada. I was so sad. I hope one day you can have international shipping. I always want to try making my own pony after I watch one of your videos : 3
Could you please check now? The rebooting tool was UK only, so I think that's why it might not have worked. If it still doesn't, I'm afraid it's Etsy's decision. I have some stuff on eBay but not the ponies because I'm scared of cross selling. Hope it works!!!
Oh my gosh! She is so pretty I love the colour scheme on the pony! It’s giving zipp storm but the opposite colour scheme you did so good on restoring her!
Estrela is a really big company here in brazil and the name translates to "star", love the restoration! And yes make a fofinho pls they are really cute! ❤
Another amazing pony restoration! Baby Gusty looks so good now! Also, I love to hear more about MLP history, actually I was not aware of Brazylian variants being only earth ponies and pegasai! Pony facts in the video are always a plus for me 😊
Amo la forma en que juegas con los ponys mientras los restauras, me da mucha ternura. Mi pony cuando era niña fue Wave runner, ojalá un dia podamos verla en tu canal.
Your little teases are so funny haha - as long as you deliver the history, I love to hear it! I'm also obsessed with plushies and would enjoy your take on one of them! Too cute :D
I want you to know that I watched so much of your content that I decided to try out customizing old MLPs, and I have been having a great time! I’ve been using your videos as guides because you show and explain things so well
Oooh it is exciting to hear about you doing a documentary on the Argentinian ponies! There is a video that I have been saving to watch by a channel called Trujillo's Collectors Store where they go to a Top Toys factory and interview I believe thefounder. If you haven't seen that one it might be a good source, but I imagine you know more than me! I have been holding off watching it because my spanish is pretty poor. Also, I remember the drama with the Brazil prototypes last year! That was pretty wild. I bet lots of people (iincluding myself) would be interested in hearing more about things like that, if you feel like covering them, although theres not *that* much drama in the pony community. I will say, I think it would be interesting to hear a South American's perspective on the topic, because from what i understand people from the US and UK once didn't even believe the Variant ponies are real, and nowadays covet them as "Nirvanas". So I don't know, I didn't like the attitude of some of the people calling out the brazil ponies, although once I got a good look at them they don't look like prototypes. What nobody pointed out is that they don't even fit with how Estrela designed their other ponies, it doesn't really make sense they would make a brown Snuzzle when they typically made more colorful and bright ponies anyways (like how you said the Minty from Brazil is more bright green) Anyways, amazing restoration as always Yisela, hope you're having a good new year!
Another great video! I love hearing more of the commentary and learning about what is happening in the community. Niche community drama and insights are always appreciated, especially for those of us that aren't participants in the community. :) We collect Grand Champion model horses and have been able to snag quite a few prototypes from a Facebook community. Luckily they were a lot easier to prove as genuine because they came in box from the factory with all the "official" packaging, documentation, quality control notes, etc.
im brazilian and i love your videos so much that i was considering buying a pony here so i could send to you to restore bc i wanted to see a brazilian pony so bad!!! lol theyre quite expensive but im so happy another person sent you a pony from brazil to restore!!!!
He's so beautiful now. I love to hear about different ponies from different parts of the world. I'm 71 and my cousins then my 😮daughters, granddaughters an̈d now my great grandson who is 18months all played with them. They have had a few bathes and a few visits 🎉 the hairdressers haha. But they have been amazing. Most of them are about 54 years old now.
12:47 Ooh I think I had (have?) one of these! But they came with a doll so I'm not sure... Actually I got very interested on the story! You should do more ^^ Fofinhos are... Kinda scary? I'm glad I never saw one as a kid (how could I? I wasn't even born. But glad indeed)
My most wanted Brazilian is the adult Gusty with her outfit. I LOVE Ponywear, & have a pattern for knitting MLP jumpers/ sweaters. It's adapted to fit G1 adults, G3 adults, G2 adults, G3 babies, & G1 babies so far, & it can also be adapted once sewn up to make a dress by crocheting the skirt part on
I’d love to see videos about history and little interesting facts I’ve always found MLP fascinating as a toy brand, the fact there’s HUNDREDS of ponies, with tonnes of variants, specific to certain countries, all with unique quirks and cool little individual traits, the only thing I can compare it to in scale is probably Furbies (which I’ve been collecting since I was 11, I’m now in my 20s lol) or even Barbie (in terms of how many there are, unique country specific models etc.)
I'd really love to see a video about the differences in hair materials on ponies, like comparing the nylon you prefer to other popular options. because to be honest I don't like how greasy the hair looks in the before vs after :(, maybe I'm just the odd one out though, and people should love to do it whatever they prefer, but it'd be interesting to see the difference anyway!! and also maybe between different brands & vs the official ponies, and the pros and cons to each of them, eg how they damage over time. if you see this Yisela, or anyone, I'm not insulting your preference at all, but I would also like to know how common or uncommon my opinion is 🩷 (Also I love love LOVE how much you ramble and I wanna type it in a comment every time you stop yourself talking, but I'm sure there are lots more people who prefer less talking 🤷🏻♀️)
Hey, I'm one of those never commenters but I wanted to ask; (and I'm so sorry if this has been asked before!) But is there any chance at all that you would open up shipping in your Etsy store to international customers? I'd love to try one of your kits for restoring a pony in need of some love (and possibly find a new hobby!) but I'm not in the UK. Again, apologies if you've been asked this a million times. I really do enjoy your videos, you're one of my comfort channels.
Thank you so much :) I love talking but I had trouble adding the subtitles. I'm testing different platforms to do them automatically now. Crossing fingers!
the way you pronounce valentin isnt exactly how it would be pronounced in brazil nowadays but its actually pretty similar how older folks would pronounce it!
also i love hearing about the possible prototype ponies because i would have never learned about this interesting situation if it weren't for checking in with my favorite retro restore-artist! thank you for always providing us a unique window into the history of these cuties!
Any interest in fixing up a very big pony? My daughter has the jumbo sized MLP gen 4 ponies. I believe they were made for the first movie. They are totally normal vinyl ponies just jumbo size.
I love your content and keep going, but you will damage your brushes if you rub the metal part of the brush on the surface that you are picking up paint from. Please avoid doing that as it can loosen your bristles.
Oh no! I had no idea! Thank you so much for letting me know. I will be more careful in the future (I don't think I usually do this, but for sale reason I did do it a lot in this video!)
Thank you so so so sooooooo much for making my baby shine again! Im in love with it!!!
As a Brazilian, I’m so happy to see a Brazilian pony!! ❤
I didn’t even watch it all and I already love it so so much! Hahah
Hehehe thank you so much! I love the Brazilian ponies, so I will try to get more to restore :)

Currently dealing with potential evacuation out here in SoCal, so glad I can watch this to help relax.
I'm so sorry to hear that. I hope you and your loved ones are okay, sending you lots of love from here ❤️

If they’re mlp ponies they aren’t more than 43 like me. The first mlp ponies launched in 81, when I was born
@ChicagoMel23 thanks that must be how old they are as some of them were the first ones that came out.
